If you want a state of the art muzzle brake engineered to address the challenges of today's competitions then you need the Phase 5 FATman Hex Break! From the brilliant master minds at Phase 5 comes the iconic Hex design for that custom styling and precision performance you're looking for. Two large FAT ventilated baffle sections and chambers dramatically reduce the felt recoil of your rifle. Two top ports feature a 20 degree forward angle to drive and direct the spent gas energy toward maintaining a flat muzzle plane for consistent results shot after shot. The first chamber wall sits as close to the barrel crown as possible to ensure that you continue to get the maximum accuracy out of your barrel. Take your rifle to the next level with the FATman Hex Break from Phase 5.

Phase 5 began when the founder designed and built a firearm component in his garage, not start a business, but to solve a specific problem. Their products remain made in America, built on American machines, with American-built components.

Does not fit all full guard rifles
This unit looks great, is very solid in feel. My only concern and problem is size. So my Sig M400 has a full length guard. The compensator is supposed to fit under this guard. To install I had to strip the guard off and tighten the compensator. Then install the guard and twist until both were straight. Now from reading this may affect my floating barrel and vibration in the barrel. I have not had a chance to fire this big guy yet but I did want to pass my experience along. Pros: Great look Cons: Oversized a bit much

Like shooting a .22
This brake is amazing. I have mine mounted on a 10.5 barrel so, she barks out some serious flames and is loud as hell. But, you don't buy a comp to make friends. You buy one to stay on target for fast, repeated shots. This brake will do that for you absolutely. Best of all, it's the first flash suppressor or compensator/brake that wasn't a pain in the butt to index. Buy it.

I installed this on a 10i
I installed this on a 10in upper from radical and it looks perfect the only issue i had was the crush washer from phase 5 is over kill lol i had to buy a standard milspec washer to allow the brake to seat all the way but other then that phase 5 knows what is up by far some of the best customer service i have delt with now for the operation i would say it took out about 10% of the recoil and allows me to get back on target faster then the standard birdcage the side blast is not that bad for a 10

Have a question about this?

This will be displayed next to your question.

Will this fit a ATI Alpha Maxx ARP ?
Answer: Hi BG! What length barrel/handguard does your pistol have? If it is chambered in 5.56/.223, then the barrel should be tapped 1/2x28 TPI and the threading shouldn’t be an issue. But I am worried about the inside diameter of the handguard if the handguard is the same length as the barrel. Basically, if the brake needs to sit inside of the guard, it might not be a large enough inside diameter for the FATman Brake to sit inside of it. Here is a tech drawing of the FATman so you can take a look and measure it out: https://i.imgur.com/Cv12s3E.png
I have a mp15 556 will this work fi you don't have threads ?
Answer: No, if your barrel is not threaded, then this will not fit.
Will this fit an AR-10 .308?  Thanks.
Answer: No it will not. Per the written description: AR-15 Muzzle Brake - Threaded 1/2x28 TPI - .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO. Go with item# 2-PH5FATMAN-58-24
