what is the outside dimensions of this safe; will the safe hold a Glock 17 with 2 mags; is the hinge on the short side or the long side of the safe.

Hello Bill! Exterior dimensions: 12.7"H x 9"W x 8.8"D. Interior dimensions: 11.4"H x 8.6"W x 6.3"D. The hinge is on the bottom. It will absolutely fit a G17 and two mags.
