I drank a puddle. Yup and I no die. However, these will not take being stepped on with your hiking boot for even a little bit.

This is a must-have item for your survival kit, small enough to go anywhere, and it WORKS! This fits in the survival bottle kit they sell here, (also a great buy) and gives you a good, portable way to get fresh water when you will need it most. I put one in each of the bottle kits we keep in our cars, and in the bottle kit I carry when I am hikng, hunting, or on my mountain bike. I tried that one out, and the water did not taste great, but a water test kit confirmed it was clean and safe. A must have item, especially for the cost.

I used this bad boy in Utah on a canyoneering trip where one person in our party broke their foot. It turned a 1 day trip into a 3 day adventure. Out of water on a 109 degree day, we found a puddle of water. We used this to drink the nasty stink water that saved our lives. Buy 2!!

This filter is just too cool! I put one in each of our survival kits. You can do without a lot of things in a survival situation, water ain't one of them.
