"I bought this compensator for my Spring-field Armory M1911-A1 .45ACP. When I received it, at first i had little trouble attaching the compensator but my biggest problem was figuring out how to put the guide rod that the compensator requires to actually fit. After spending about 20 minutes working on it, I finally figured it out. It was at about that time that I looked at the instructions and found that what I had done was listed exactly how I did it. Also I have only fired about two of three rounds out of it and I noticed that the recoil was reduced and the action performed flawlessly."

"Bought this for my para hi cap. Had to file down the boss to fit in the groove of my slide, no big deal, only about 15 mins of work. Shot 100 rounds thru it recently and have nothing bad to say. noticable difference in sound and muzzle climb is greatly reduced, looks awesome too. Highly encourage other 1911 owners to buy."

"I got this for a Taurus PT1911 after reading a few other reviews saying how well it went on. I have another success story, went right in after I read through the instructions completely haha. Makes a great looking midnight fireball and I didn't have to change my recoil spring."

"I purchased this product to install on my Rock Island Tactical 1911. At first I had a bit of a time getting it to fit together but a little sandpaper fixed that and now it is on my pistol. It does not seem to add too much weight but the compensator sure does take a lot of bite out of the hot loads that I like to shoot. It looks good and the paint has blended well in with the black of my pistol. I am very pleased and recommend it to all."

"This is awesome. I got it for my Kimber Custom 2 and it works pretty well. Install took about 20 minutes. I had to shave down the comp a little (can't be seen when installed) to make it fit. Other than that it works great. There was a noticeable difference in recoil. I don't think I'll leave it in all the time, but it will definitely see more use."

"I have purchased 2 of these compensators, one for my Taurus PT1911, and then a 2nd for my Kimber Custom HD II. Install of the compensator is easy enough, however removal is another issue. What has been failed to be mentioned is that as a part of the installation, it's necessary to shorten your weapons spring plug as per the installation instructions. If you're like me, and don't have access to the equipment to do so, then purchasing the additional guide rod kit makes sense since it also contains a shortened spring plug. The 2 part guide rod honestly doesn't make the installation and removal much easier, but don't make the mistake I did by trying to install the bushing without modifying the length of the spring guide. I spent about an hour trying to get the compensator off the end of my weapon. I had no issues with the 2-part guide-rod \"rattling\". My hope is that CTD will get more in stock soon, so I can re-install the compensator on my Kimber without issue. Otherwise, the compensator worked great on the range with both weapons, though some filing of the bushing may be necessary for a smooth fit."

"I bought this for my Taurus 1911 AR and it was a drop-in. It fits the slide and barrel perfectly, with just enough tightness to keep everything 'tight' with-out binding. And yes the night fire is beautiful."

"I bought 2 of these. One for a P1445, and the other for a SA 1911 Loaded. The SA came with a 2 piece guide rod, so only a small amount of filing was necessary for proper fit. I started out with a solid guide rod on the P1445, and quickly ordered up the 2 piece guide rod. With a solid guide rod, disassembly was time consuming. You almost needed a second person to assist. I did have to do some filing for proper fit as wel lon the P1445.Operation: The SA 1911 Loaded was a nice handling weapon. With the Muzzle Comp, it's a REALLY nice handling weapon. Muzzle rise is reduced, and recovery on target is fast. The P1445 has a great trigger pull. Adding the solid guide rod and Muzzle Comp made it a great handling weapon. Changing out to the 2 piece guide rod, maintains great handling, and now makes cleaning a breeze. Muzzle rise is barely noticeable. If you get this, definitely get the 2 piece guide rod."

"This piece is more of a visual part than actual functional the only way it might reduce recoil is from its added weight"
