All green laser products operating at 532nm are subject to varying degrees of illumination power loss in cold weather (60 degrees Fahrenheit or less) unless proper procedures are followed.

For optimal and maximum illumination in cold conditions:
1) Place 2 hand warmers around unit and secure with self adhering wrap which can be found in drug stores or camo color wraps in sporting goods stores. (The hand warmers slow down the heat loss through the aluminum housing).
2) Place a warm battery (room temperature) in the unit and turn on before going outside.
3) If the power level fluctuated, replace battery with a warm battery and continue use. (Rotate batteries as needed)."

"I installed this sight on my .40s&w Beretta cx4. This sight held zero very well; it moved maby less than an inch on a target that was about 25 yards away after 14 rounds. Because its a pistol-caliber carbine, it hardly has much recoil to begin with, so I don't know if it'll hold zero as well on larger rifles. The laser is very bright. It's pretty easy to see it outside except on very sunny days. It is easily visible on a water tower 910 yards away from my apt during clear nights! It was very easy to install on a rail and easy to adjust to zero. The only cons that I can think of is that this laser is pretty big - 4 1/2\" long and when fited is 1 1/4\" away from the rail at its widest spot. Its probably too big for any hand gun. Also, its a little expensive, but then again, works well for the price."

"Not a bad laser. Mounted to my AR and looks and works well. Holds a zero well, and is for Rifles. I don't know about some of the people out there but this laser is clearly for a large gun not a handgun."

"I bought this laser, hoping it was gonna be a quality one, and for this price, I expected it to be. The problem is it will not hold its zero. And it's not like I have it mounted to a .50 BMG or anything - it's on a Smith & Wesson M&P15-22. It is nice and bright and can be seen during the daylight for longer than I expected, but that is absolutely worthless if it's not on target. The other reviews before this were pretty positive and that's why I chose this laser. Save yourself some grief and get a high dollar, quality, and proven laser. UPDATE: I orginally gave this 2 bullets because it was really bright. Now I have demoted it to 1 bullet because if the laser is anywhere near 50 degreese or less, it has no power and cannot be seen, EVEN AT NIGHT! So if you want a laser that can't hold zero and only works in 70 degree or higher temps, then by all means, this is the laser for you!!!"
