"Basically, two holster's in one: an inside the pants holster & a holster to secure the firearm. I have a Taurus 650 .357 Magnum revolver (same as the model 605, only with a fully enclosed hammer) that I use this holster for. Due to the model 650 not having a hammer for a retention strap to grab, most retention straps slip off of the firearm easily. This holster's retention strap stays in place very securely though. When I want to actually carry inside-the-pants, I tuck the retention straps inside of the holster and slip the revolver in over them. While this method may not be as pretty as having my revolver in this holster's \"no strap\" counter-part (due to a slight bulge from the firearm pushing against the straps), the functionality is still there. The velcro from the straps stick to the inside of the holster, thus not causing the straps to move around - the holster maintains it's integrity & functionality. Of coarse, this all would apply to a firearm with a hammer as well. I also do the exact same thing with an exact holster (different size) for my Glock 23."

"I have one of these holsters for my small frame Dan Wesson Revolver. It is my 2nd one of these holsters for this gun. When it wears out I\uFFFDll get another. They do wear at the barrel end but that's O.K. considering the price. The first one lasted about 3 years. the 2nd is at about the same age and will need to be replaced soon. The reason that I give it a 4 and not a 5 bullet rating has to do with the belt retention. The plastic clip should be a \"J\", to hook it to the belt more securely during the draw."
