"Fit is so poor the lid actually rattles, even with all 4 latches closed. Watertight? Hah, I'm more worried about the contents spilling out when I pick it up by the handle. Spend the extra bucks and get a real Pelican."

"Need to amend my previous negative review. It seems the case is shipped with a heavy vacuum, this overcompresses the lid onto the rubber inner seal. The seal has had a few days to recover, and the lid seems to work fine now. This is a good value for a budget case."

"I purchased one of these around 3 months ago or so. I immediately put my wepon in it. I looked at it today after reading the most recent review. Mine still has a gap around the edge. I`ll try and give it 3-4 days open to see if it`s going to seal. I purchased a Calico .22 100rd. This case is the closest to what I need to hold it. I`m a little leary about putting out the money for another one. I may have to amend my rating later also."

"I recently bought 2 of cases for gun storage. The cost was so much less than Pelican or SKB I couldnt pass it up. I have had it for a few weeks now and used it in some nasty conditions. Seal is good, cases is strong as can be. It fell off the back of our truck and contents did not move!! Great buy for the money, especially when a Pelican is twice as much."

"For the cost this case is great. If you want to pay twice as much from Pelican then go ahead, but there is not that much difference."

"I bought two of these cases one about 4 months ago and just bought another I am very very pleased as I am hard on them but have not had any problems. They are very tough, waterproof. I have bought Pelican in the past and paid much more. I wish I would have know about this case back then. Great purchase, Thanks!"

"I bought this case to carry my ammo and pistols that I do not want to get wet or damaged during my trips. It has worked perfectly and has layers foam for added protection. It seals great and is very very rugged. I would not hesitate to buy another one. Not to mention the price is a whole lot better than the others on the market."

"Been looking at this case on line for weeks and finely bought it. It was delivered yesterday and I was pleasently surprised. For the price you can't beat it. It's well constructed and and has plenty of room. The case seals tight and is waterproof. I have two Pelican cases of the same size and this case looks just like them right down to the hinges. You can't go wrong for the price of this case."

"Very good product. I was about to purchase another Pelican 1550, but I saw this one to give it a try. Surprised how good this case is and half the price, highly recommended."

"In searching for a high-quality, low(er) cost alternative to my Pelicans, I purchased this case with high hopes based on the useful reviews. The case (case-535) is substantial and well crafted, with metal pins on all pivots, tongue-and-groove with gasket seal, manual pressure valve, and single stage latches. What I do like about this case: Durable, solid construction Ample room inside for the breaker bar and torque wrenches Lid stays open at an angle Design comparable to older series of Pelican Affordable price (compared to comparable Pelican)What I don't like about the case: Lid/case tolerance not as precise as expected (still okay) While seal integrity initially appeared to be weak (unequal pressure indents on gasket), I have yet to experience a leak situation (acclimation to my 5000 ft altitude has evened this out) The latches are a little narrow and sometimes engage a little soft Manual pressure relief valve None of the foam is pluckableHaving said all this, I am quite happy with this new case. Actually, satisfied enough to order additional cases and recommend them to friends. These will be my main trail cases. This makes for a solid field case; a trail tool set vehicle kit (each of ours will have one). Just remember, loaded up the case will weigh 35+ pounds. Also (not reviewed here) the new smaller version (case-537) rounded out my gear storage needs. Found them great for smaller items like the first aid kit, light and fire starting, maps, GPS and so on."

"Good case. Unbeatable for the money. It will hold several pistols. I love it."

"So far I've taken it through one airport trip and I have nothing but good things to say. It held two handguns, their mags, holsters, and other misc. junk. Totally worth the price."

"Great case for the price. Sorry Pelican, but this one beats yours. It holds most of my handguns. I will be ordering another one. Standard shipping was great, expecting 3-5 days, ordered Tuesday night and it arrived Thursday morning. Thanks, CTD!"

"Bought this case to take all of my handguns to the range at one time, without having to try and carry 6 individual cases and without having to leave my guns unattended in the vehicle or shooting stall to make the trip back and forth. This case is awesome! Found mine to be very well constructed and the layers of two inch foam protects and holds your weapons in place. You absolutely cannot beat the cost of this high quality case either. This is the perfect case for more than guns too; works really good to protect and carry camera equipment. Save yourself a $100 buying this case over other brands."

"Purchased this case for my pistols. Main complaint is that the foam isn't pluckable, like the catalog sometimes says it is (though the description on the web page doesn't claim it is). Pros: strong, with lots of foam; large; can probably fit eight pistols, as long as they aren't Desert Eagles. Cons: foam not pluckable as mentioned above."

"We're currently using this case to transport a six inch revolver and a subcompact 9mm to the range, along with eyes and ears, targets, and other accessories for two people (everything but ammo). It carries all of that with plenty of room to spare. We could easily add a few more handguns without running out of room. There are three layers of removable foam within the case, plus a layer glued to the lid. Each layer of foam is a single piece, not perforated, so scissors are needed to create cut-out areas. The four latches and lock slots make it a very sturdy and secure case. The latches are solid, but not overly tough to undo."

"I bought this for my SIG556 pistol, which is 20.5 inches long. The case is only 20.4 inches, so I knew I was taking a chance. It won't lie straight across, but it will lie diagonally with 1/2 inch to spare. It's perfect, with plenty of room for the SIG with sling and sight, plus a couple mags just lying beside it. It is nice and deep with eggshell foam glued to the lid and three layers of foam in the bottom two 2\" layers and a 1\" layer, anything in this case is unbelievably cushioned. I think it will be possible to take out a layer of foam and stack a whole layer of mags underneath the SIG without touching it. Looks like 10 or 12 mags could go in there easily. Good quality and very sturdy. It would hold a lot of handguns and ammo for storage or for the range. If you want a good hard case to protect your treasure, I highly recommended this one, and a SIG556p most certainly fits as long as you haven't added a longer flash suppressor or a stock of any sort. Thanks CTD; supersonic shipping as usual."

"I got this case for a trip. Very pleased with what arrived! My guns and gear are safe and secure and ready to travel. Was bigger than I realized. Rugged and seals fine. Gonna order another just for my camera and chrono gear. Well worth buying and half the price of the \"well known\" brand."

"I took my time looking for a case like this. I was super pumped when it showed up (in less than 3 days....!!) because it is well worth the money. Great padding, big inside, solid handle and two padlock slots. Did I mention CTD got it to me in less than 3 days?!?! Fantastic buy, thanks CTD!"

"Seems OK. I have about 10 different cases from different companies such as Otter, Pelican and mystery cases (names I cannot recall) and it is better than many; although obviously not as good as the top name brands. The top name brands are over-priced in my opinion but sometimes you try to care less about the price. The fact that this case is more than adequate and a nice bargain for the cost makes worth a try and buy in my opinion."

"I have a S&W 22Cal AR-15 Pistol and have been looking for over two years for a case to hold this weapon. When I saw the dimensions of this Case I knew my prayers were answered. Received the case 3 days after ordering. Plenty of foam to keep the pistol stationary and cutting out for the shape I needed was so simple."

"These are nice cases for the money, on par with more expensive brand names. No complaints."

"The case itself is very SOLID and well made ... no faults there! I was disappointed that there was zero documentation (like how to use the pressure valve) and the foam layers are not perforated so sections can be easily removed to fit your contents. I could use a suggestion on how to cut the thick foam to fit my guns!"

"I was a little skeptical that this would be on par with it's Pelican counterpart, but I'm pleased to say it is. The only minor criticism is that the foam doesn't fit quite as snug as the Pelican. Glad I bought this and saved a 100 bucks!"
