Founded in 1880, Tula Cartridge Works is one of the most significant producers of small-arms ammunition in the world. Over the past several years the factory launched production of a wide variety of commercial products for training, self-defense, and hunting. Such ammunition is marketed Worldwide under the trademark TULAMMO.
The cartridge .223 REM (5.56X45) is used for sporting and hunting shooting through bolt-action and semi-automatic rifles and carbines. The cartridge keeps its qualities under various climatic and weather conditions independent of the season and at a temperature from 20 to + 50 C.

TulAmmo is converting from a Bimetal Jacketed projectile to a Zinc Coated projectile. Zinc coating is a chemical method of surface treatment (galvanizing) which gives the bullet jacket a more uniform and consistent protective layer than that of machine-stamped bimetal bullet jackets. Thanks to this, cartridges with zinc-coated bullets provide up to 10-15% better shooting accuracy than cartridges with bimetal bullets.

"I have been shooting a Siagas 223 for about a year, just when ammo tightened to being almost impossible to get-all gun and no ammo! I have tried several brands, and for my wants, just targeting, it does fine for me. I do not hunt, but know for defense, this will be much better than nothing. I know full well that HP would be better for defense, but that is almost impossible to find. I understand it is finicky for AR types, but for mine, I am quite pleased, especially at what appears to be the cheapest price around. I guess I take off 1 star for the non-defense part."

"I bought 500 rounds of this and haven't had any failures to feed whatsoever it doesn't seem to be too dirty either and I would highly recommend it especially considering cost so far I've fired over 300 rounds and haven't had any kind of problem whatsoever the biggest thing is to keep your bolt lubed and your feed ramps lubed as well"

"Love russian ammo for plinking and varmits up close. Shot a ton of it through a 16 inch 1x9 twist barrel but since upgrading to a stainless 20 inch 1x8 fluted barrel it stinks. Could be me though. Stuff is dirty and fouls out a barrel fast. Dead on at 25 to 40 yards but cant even hit a 9X11 sheet of paper at a 100 yrds. Hp 62 gr is better and Silver Bear 62 HP is better still. Going to clean a lot more and see if that is the problem."
