"I have used the round aperture Troy BUIS before, so I thought I would try the diamond version. First of all, the quality of the sight was excellent...very well engineered and built. Also, I liked the short range (larger hole) sight. The diamond shape seems to help you have a consistent sight picture because it's easier to tell where the \"middle\" is versus looking thru a round hole. The problem I have with the sight is the long range (small hole) sight. It is not a full diamond, but rather only the bottom half of the diamond with small \"claws\" coming from the sides pointing towards the center, which is how you aim. In theory, it sounds like a good idea, but in practice it didn't work for me. The rear sight looks \"fuzzy\" when you are aiming and looking at the front sight, so it is impossible to see the \"claws\" on the rear sight to tell if you are aiming correctly. I tend to use the long range sight all the time anyway, even for short distances, so this sight isn't for me. I returned it and I'm purchasing the round Troy battle sight. Your mileage may vary, but I like Troy's round sight better. As always, no problems with CTD shipping and return policy. Very happy with them."

"As always Troy has the most rugged and durable products for combat. This sight does just what it says, faster target sighting, and wider FOV than the standard round rear sight."

"I bought this RBUS for my RRA AR-15 to fit under my EOTech Gen 2 magnifier. The Magpul RBUS was too bulky and did not allow the magnifier to close without the riser. Chuck has a point about the fuzziness when trying to focus, especially if you have a collapsable stock and tend to have the stock shorter. Once the stock is fully extended, the sight picture is great for the long range. However with that said, the diamond short range is outstanding for CQB and quick accuisition. The white dashes are hard to see when the stock is collapsed but that is no factor because the diamond shape allows quick alignment. I definitely recommend this as a back up sight especially if using a flip to side or quick detach magnifier"
