"This kit is definitely not for a beginner, which I was when I purchased this kit. Nothing fit together. I had to do much more in-letting and fitting that I was expecting to do. I bought this kit for my son and me to build and it was much more difficult than I was lead to believe. The price and the shipping was great but it was certainly a major pain in the butt to assemble. The trigger guard broke in two pieces when I tried to fit it in, but I installed it anyway. Luckily, you can't tell it is broken unless you look real close. The instructions must be read very carefully and re-read again, just in case you miss something. The instructions are very small and hard to read and also failed to mention some key steps. If I had to do it all over again, I would have purchased a rifle with a wedge pin instead of one with barrel tenons. We finished the rifle yesterday and it looks good, but the real test will be at the range this weekend."

"This is a very good kit. As others have said, it's not for beginners. But if your an experienced Black Powder Kit Builder it is a beautiful buy. Construction is well, there is plenty of filing and boring involved in the building. So far I'm really enjoying it. I'm almost ready to start sighting it in."
