"I mount this in the floor of my pick up since I do a bunch of work around places I cannot legally carry. Works great and I feel so much safer knowing it is securely locked in my pick up. Now hopefully the hoodlums wont steal my truck."

"Bolted to the desk right beside my bed. It's quick and easy to get into. I love it. The only downside is the buttons beep when you enter the code to get into it. For the price, it's definately a great buy."

"Two things to be aware of: 1) The beeps can't be turned off, and it's not really possible to open up the electronics and disable the beeper (I tried and tried, and even called the manufacturer); and 2) Mine doesn't open electronically if mounted vertically, at least not without 2-10 tries. Otherwise, it's a sturdy lockbox for a good price (certainly would keep kids out if they don't have the key), a quick spring-loaded opening action with manual key override. But, the beeps are loud and do not contribute to stealthy acquisition of your weapon."

"I ordered a second unit for my vehicle as I have been happy with the quality of the first. I stumbled across the rating reviews of other customers and noted that a few were downrating this item because the beep sound couldnt be disarmed so they figured the "stealth" factor of opening it was compromised. Well, as soon as my 2nd one arrived today I opened it up, pulled some assorted screws that hold the guts in and pulled them only partially out. Simple, all you do is cut the black or red (or both) to the speaker glued to the bottom (its the quarter sized round item with the two wires coming out of it) and now it's silent. So if that is the only caviat to it's 5 bullet rating, it's resolved. P.S. You need a #1 phillips head screwdriver, and a pair of wire snips. It isn't rocket science and takes literally 5 minutes from start to finish. ;) Another note worth mentioning, if it's going into a vehicle, add another layer or two of foam to the bottom so your pistol and clips aren't rattling against eachother. This thing is a GREAT deal at just over $50 club bucks. You can even stand on it. With the raised rubber covered buttons, you can open it in the dark or without looking at it and I use my home unit daily and after 8 months, it's still on its first set of batteries. I'll probably get another for the office too."

"I ordered this safe for my truck last Friday and it arrived yesterday (the next Wed). I needed someplace to put my service weapon when I left work and went right to the doctors, or out for a beer at the end of my shift. First thing that struck me was how heavy it was!. This safe is built very well. Its big enough to accommodate a full size handgun, a wallet, and a couple other knickknacks like a small digital camera or iPod all at the same time with room to spare. The pre drilled mounting holes on the bottom were a little to small for me, so I got out my 3/8 drill bit and took care of business. I bolted this baby to the floor of my pickup with 2 3/8 carriage bolts and nice big washers. I permatexted the bolts and holes to keep the water out. After bolting this safe to the floor, Im confident no one is getting in it without a decent assortment of power tools. The only way to get this safe out of the truck is either by grinding down the heads of the carriage bolts or plasma cutting the floor of the truck. If I pull on the safe, it rocks the truck back and forth. If the crooks get into this one, or get it out of my truck, they earned everything thats inside. Im pretty confident in putting my duty weapon and badge inside. The combination keypad is nice, and the ability to use a 9V battery as a backup in case the AAs inside go dead is a nice touch.Nicely made. Not just for the price. For what you get with this safe, you cant go wrong @ $60 plush shipping. Highly recommended."

"This compact pistol safe by ADG seems to be a good value, but the fatal flaw is not the beep that bothers everyone else; it is the electronic unit's failure after a short time. Changing the battery module is difficult once it it mounted. As long as you don't mind needing the back-up key for entry, it's a decent value. I bought it for the key-less entry feature, and was disappointed."

"I could not be happier with this safe. The durability and construction are great and I love the digital entry--I don't have to carry an extra key like I did with my other safe. It is easy to use day in and day out. The top foam can also serve as a spot to hide important paperwork if someone breaks into it. I keep my spare keys, passport, checkbook and two semi-compact handguns in this safe to give you an idea of it's size. If and when I need a second one, I would purchase this safe from cheaper than dirt."
