The Tipton universal bore guide will help protect the bore and action of your rifle by properly aligning the cleaning rod and reducing solvent overflow. Cleaning without a bore guide can allow the rod to "bow" and rub or gouge chamber and throat of the bore causing real damage and loss of accuracy. Keeping the rod properly aligned not only protects your barrel, it directs the force exerted on the cleaning rod handle allowing tight patches to be pushed more easily.

The Bore Guide is simple to use. 1) Install the appropriate tip for your rifle 2) Remove bolt and insert guide 3) adjust sliding collar for snug fit into chamber and tighten thumbscrew and your ready to clean.

"This product only gets 3 bullets from me. I would have given it 4 bullets, but it did not work on my Sig 556. The way the Sig 556 is made doesn't allow the rod guide to be installed straight. It is so canted that it would bind up the rod if I pushed it in and it would do more harm than good. I can only use the plastic tip that goes into the chamber. It would probably work for most ARs. Don't know if it would work for AKs either. Other than that, I would say it is a decent piece of cleaning equipment. I know that there is better out there, but I don't have any bolt actions rifles that require pinpoint accuracy."

"This bore guide is not small enough to use on my Savage MKII .22 lr, but works great for my .243 Mossberg 800b. Comes with attachment for AR-15s. Don't know if that works, as I do not own one. The tube itself is very thin metal, and the bolt locking screw can easily bend the tube, making the guide useless, but it really doesn't need much pressure to work properly."
