"I read at least a dozen reviews or posts about this model (it's the same basic gun as the .22mag version); a lot of complaints were about the trigger pull (hammer pull hard and double action too hard). Some were about the hammer edges that chafe the thumb.I have owned some of the best revolvers and automatics, including a Taurus CH85 (no hammer, stainless polished in 5 shot .38)years ago. The fit and finish on the Taurus 94 that I got (as a special configuration for this seller) is very good. It's not a S&W 686, but it's very good and for $300, it's darn good. I know something about revolvers and can disassemble one to flush and lube the internals. And this gun can use it, but right out of the box the trigger pull single action is very smooth and crisp with nearly no creep. The hammer pull and double action pull is stiff, but for any normal woman or man, it is just firm... not hard. It's not a Python nor a 686; it's a budget priced 9 round .22 that is good for all .22 loadings (.22shot,long,long rifle) which automatics don't handle well, in some cases. The 94 weighs nicely and is well balanced a bit forward in 4\" barrel with a full underlug to protect the ejector rod tip. For a casual, fun, well made, and handsome gun... this is tough to beat. I like it a lot and do not be afraid of the complaints about an impossible trigger pull from the past reviews. Taurus is modern, well designed, and quality firearms at a lot less money than top notch makers. Not everyone wants the best or can afford the best. But a Taurus 94 is definitely good enough in all areas and priced really nice to boot. I'm pretty picky, so I took a guitar fret end file with smooth corners and eased the points around the hammer edge... end of discomfort! Anything else other than a flush and re-lubricate, I would hand to a gunsmith. These are easy to work on even for a home handyman like me. But it is a gun and you don't want to go fooling with the sear and trigger surfaces with files. Be safe!"
