"This stock is very nice and very easy to put together, very durable, the only problem I had was with my gun, I would recommend anyone buying this stock to go ahead and order the gas tube also, there is a pin that should be able to be punched out of the gas tube to change the hand guard, mine had no pin but a rod that was part of gas tube. I had to order one anyways, VERY GOOD STOCK, would order another if I had another SKS."

"Easy to install, the longest part is tapping out the pin in your gas tube assembly. The fit is really tight and the top rail is firm with no play for optics. I was happy enough with the fitment I installed a red dot on it. I would encourage you to buy one of these."

"I don't know about everyone else but when I pay as much as I did for a piece of plastic I'd like it to fit correctly out of the packaging.it was extremely tight pressing the receiver / barrel assembly into the stock and the stock seems to bulge afterward, you can see light through a crack between the receiver and the stock. You could probably hone it out a little with some sand paper if you wanted to spend the extra time. The hand guard was too long and too tall. there were tabs at the bottom that needed to be cut off. I'm not sure if they just failed to do this out of the factory or if this was intentional to allow it to fit a wider variety of SKS makes. I also needed to cut away a bit of plastic from both ends of the handguard to make it short enough so that the holes for the rivet were able to align. Also needed to cut notches in the stock to allow the gas tube / hand guard to get low enough to lock into place.I'm pretty dissatisfied with TAPCO in general their products are extremely overpriced for what you get; Hastily tossed together hunks of plastic. On a side note I read people have been having trouble with removing the \"pin\" on the gas tube it's actually a rivet and it's crushed on both sides so what you need to do is put the gas tube on a drill press and very carefully with a bit the same size or smaller drill just into the head of the rivet avoiding the hole around it. once you've removed the crushed head it should be able to be pressed out with the drill press or you can use a hammer and punch although you may need to heat it up a tad with a torch first."
