The Mil-Spec T6 stock assembly is built to exacting tolerances and allows for six adjustment positions. The TAPCO extension tube is not just made to Mil-Spec profile, all finishes and materials are as required by military specifications.
A smooth action and snug fit of the stock body onto the tube can be attributed to new processes. Each stock body is machine qualified to the exact dimension of the tube, for a no-rattle fit. Each stock also features a metal sling swivel.
All receiver extensions are not equal, and TAPCO's tube is second to none. The best Mil-Spec extension available today, this tube is impact extruded, producing a much stronger part. This is done using 7075 T6 Aluminum, the same material as most AR receivers. Each tube then has the threads rolled on, a Mil-Spec process superior to standard "cutting" of threads into metal.
TAPCO didn't skip any steps on the finishing process either. The inside of the tube is coated with Mil-Spec dry film lubricant that not only keeps the action quieter; it reduces metal-on-metal contact, extending the service life of your buffer. While most other tubes are anodized or have no finish, the outside of the TAPCO tube is grit blasted to leave a non-reflective surface, then coated in Mil-Std 171 Lusterless Black for a smooth matte finish. Made in the USA.

"Nice stock. Did not give it 5 stars because the retaining nut was a little loose feeling on the stock threads. Smart design on the offset retaining lip. It allows you to screw the stock tube in futher and catch some side overlap onto the buffer retainer. On most tubes that have the lip at the bottom you have to stop and back the tube off if the lip hits before a complete rotation. This leaves the lip barely over the detent. On the Tapco if the front tube edge hits and you have to back it off you still have the tube over a portion of the detent and the side lip extending further over the detent."

"Got it shipped in 2 days! Literally took 5 minutes tops to install on my DPMS Lo Pro Classic (didn't like the solid stock). Fit great and everything matched straight for me. Only issue is they say non rattle but the actual stock does have a minimal loose feeling to it. Also don't plan on fully installing right away unless you have a spanner wrench for the castle nut. Didn't come with one like most kits do. otherwise I feel its worth the money, plus now my girlfriend can shoot it easier due to the stock being in closer when fully adjusted in."

"I upgraded two Colt Match Target rifles with Colt SP6940 uppers. While doing this I changed out the the A2 stocks with the Tapco assemblies. They installed easily and fit well. The offset retaining lip actually made the installation easier. The retaining lip comes down over detent and holds in firmly (and the tube straight) in place. I only gave it four bullets because there was a fair amount of play in the stock. This seems pretty common in AR collapsible stocks, so it is not a deal breaker. I ended up replacing the butt stocks with Magpul CTRs. As a complete assembly, it is everything you need to change out a fixed stock. Don't forget to but a wrench for the castle nut, as it is not included."
