"This wrench fits the Tapco castle nut perfectly. No slipping, no scratching. It will fit some other makes also but not all. The Saleswoman was very professional. My order was delivered in one day! I will be buying more from CTD."

"Great product, fits perfectly. Had to use it to replace steel plate with one with had ears so I could hook up a sling. Overall Great Product."

"Just used my to take of my castle nut and it fit very well.Very heavy duty, I don't see this thing breaking easily.I would recommend it, especially to the guys installing a single sling point!"

"This did not fit the nut on my Stag."

"I have a DPMS AP-4. It removed solid butt-stock like a charm. No problems installing the collapsible stock. For the money GO FOR IT, you won't be disappointed."

"Fits Bushmaster XM15 perfect. But becareful, you can scratch the castle nut!"

"Received this item today, and it fit my castle nut perfectly. I've got a DPMS AR-15, and the wrench did exactly as advertised. Great price for a great product."
5.0 5
"WOW! I have a DPMS and a Ruger SR-22 and this wrench fits the castle nut and flash suppressor on both. The really like the phosphate finish. It looks nice and the rubber handle is comfortable. Great tool, very useful too."
4.0 5
"This tool worked perfect to get my butt stock off, and barrel suppressor off. Seems sturdy enough to last, and by far, the cheapest priced tool on the market. The reason why it didn't get the 5 bullet rating was because the finish seems like it will rub off easily, but doesn't affect the overall use of the tool. Ordered Sunday evening, arrived Tuesday afternoon, thanks again CTD!"

"works great on my rra operator stock nut. i was a little worried because i wasn't sure it would work (i read that it was a mil spec wrench after i ordered it), but it worked flawlessly on my commercial buffer tube castle nut"
5.0 5
"Great product and terrific price. The cheapest wrench/tool to be found anywhere. It is a tad short for getting the proper leverage to tighten your flash hider, but I knew this in advance and bought it for it's compact size, which will fit in a pouch easily with other tools. Fits my Stag Arms M4 with out a problem at all."

"Great item at a good price. I ordered on Thursday evening and received on Saturday afternoon!!! Standard shipping!!! CTD is the &%$#!"
5.0 5
"It works. Doesn\uFFFDt bend or break... if you need another tool for something else, get it. But for replacing stocks this is the tool to do it with"
4.0 5
"Great product. Only real issue was the wrench was a tad short for leverage. Would be fantastic if they had a square cut out to use it with a torque wrench. Still, it did get my buffer tube off."
5.0 5
"Ordered this tool for replacing a commercial tube out for a Mil-Spec one. Worked fine for what I needed it and can't beat the price."
4.0 5
"I read all the reviews here before buying. It fit my castle nut fine, and did the intended job. No problems at all."
2.0 5
"Ordered this with ARR-217. A stock from Tapco and the wrench didn't fit the nut. The only use I made of this product was installing flash suppressors"
4.0 5
"Great little tool. Definitely needed it. Castle nut can be very tight coming off, but this tool worked great. Hope it holds up to other usages with the M4."
2.0 5
"Its just ok. I had to file it down to fit my ruger sr556. Edges were kind of sharp too."
5.0 5
"I bought this a while back for my Bushmaster AR-15 and I gotta say, it works like a charm! I already used it a few times to swap out the rear plate so I could install one for my 1-point sling, and it fits like a glove. I am definitely going to recommend this to my friends!"
5.0 5
"This tool is well made and it comes in a very nice and small vinyl zip lock bag. The rubberized handle makes it easy to work with and the machining is spot on. I cannot say anything bad about this product."
4.0 5
"As far as stamped steel tools go this is probably the best you could buy. It fits everything on my bushmaster nice and snug. I will probably wrap a few layers of duct tape on the handle though. The factory rubber coat isn't very thick."
5.0 5
"Worked like a charm. Used it to remove my old stock in seconds and install my new ATI strikeforce stock in minutes. Nice addition to the toolbox."
5.0 5
"For the S&W M&P 15T that I have this tool couldn't possibly be better. A few bucks for a tool that gets the job done every time. Thank you, CTD"
5.0 5
"This product will work on a Stag Model 8 AR15. Thank you CTD."
5.0 5
"This is the perfect tool to change or work on your stock. Don't look any further..."
5.0 5
"Got this along with Vltor endplate (ARR-466) to use with a single point sling. The castle nut was staked on so it was a P.I.T.A to get off, in fact it slid off twice and marred the threads slightly on the buffer tube. Not the fault of the wrench, I should've got the armorers tool (ARR-537)to hold the lower in place."
4.0 5
"had to do a little work on it to get it to fit around the nut but it will work wish it had a hole for a braker bar though"
4.0 5
"This wrench worked great on the carbine castle nut, however it is worth less on factory installed flash hiders, the cut out for the flash hider wrench is too close to the end of the handle for proper leverage. 5 Buillets for Castle Nut only 3 bullets b/c it can remove flashhiders if you try hard enough but I'd prefer a standard wrench for that so overall 4 bullets rating."
4.0 5
"I ordered this wrench to install a 61789 ATI stock and grip. Came in right on time. installed the castle nut perfect..WITHOUT MARRING FINISH. Slow and steady wins the race."
2.0 5
"Thin, bites into your hand so you get poor leverage. Fits poorly on the castle nut, which was it's sole purpose. Overall is going in the trash. Or Ebay. I should have known than to go the cheap route. I picked up the Hammerhead rifle tool, it is of much better build quality. Thicker, more versatile, more tools, a 4-point castle nut fit, and much better leverage."
5.0 5
"Worked Perfectly on my LWRC M6. Only used the castle nut section of the tool. Don't know how the other sections hold up. Worth the money. Don't buy the cheaper ones, they just strip your castle nut."
5.0 5
"Ive been working on these guns since I first encountered them in 1969. Do it for a living. This wrench was purchased to replace a 20 year old wrench that finally gave up the ghost. Not the finest looking tool, but it works and on those castle nuts etc. that it \"doesn't fit\" a little bit of filing makes for a perfect fit. A good value - I'll save the extra twenty plus bucks the the other wreches cost over this one as cash in my pocket."
5.0 5
"Uses on my Panther -works great to remove stock nut and to work on flash hider. Seems to get the job done."
2.0 5
"Too thin.. strips castle nut.. would spend more for a better one that works..."
3.0 5
"This is one of those \"I don't know if I will ever need it but I probably ought to have it\" tools for me. When I got it, I tried it out but was not impressed with the rubber coating on the handle. I have a can of Plastidip I keep around for coating hand tools like screw drivers, wrenches, etc. I mixed some sand in with the dip, to give it a non-slip surface, and dipped this puppy in it. I gave it three coats, allowing each coat to dry. MUCH better now. (I've also used the same dip n sand mix on a bullet puller and fore-end tool.)"
5.0 5
"I'm very impressed. It slipped right on with no filing or anything. This tool is sturdier than I expected. I only bought it for the crown nut on the buffer tube and I consider the muzzle break wrench a bonus. Great job, CTD!"
1.0 5
"I bought this tool because it was cheap and it was good for what I needed it for, but when I went to install a new stock/buffer tube on my AR it stripped the threads on the buffer tube. Upon close examination I noticed that one of the lugs on the tool was bent and out of alignment with the other two. Its good for first time buyers new to AR's on a budget (i guess) but I would not recomend it. Use the DPMS Armorers tool. It's about $30 but worth every penny and won't RUST on you either!!!!"
4.0 5
"I read some reviews before I puchased this tool, some people said they stripped their buffertube. I figured I can probably get the tool to do it's job without spending extra 20 bucks or more on the same tool made by someone else. Of couse as it turns out the tapco wrench worked just fine and you would have to be a complete dumb ass to strip any threads with it. The reason I only give 4 stars is because the fit was a little snug and marred a tiny piece of Finnish on my castle nut, I don't really care about it too much but I still know it's there. This will get the job done for a reasonable price."
5.0 5
"Works for what I needed it for in exchanging out the flash suppressor. Tough and rugged."
2.0 5
"Bought this tool to remove castle nut so I could attach single point sling- it didn't fit the notches in the castle nut. I tried a dremmel tool on the spanners to make them shorter and got it to work, but I'm disappointed because it put some scaring on my castlenut and buffer tube."
2.0 5
"This will not fit either of my AR's (S&W and Bushmaster).Have to dremmel it to get it to fit. You really gotta be careful not to damage your buffer tube threads."
5.0 5
"It's a wrench. It works. It didn't break. What else could you ask for?"
5.0 5
"Good quality. Worked great on my Bushmaster. No scratches."
5.0 5
"Did exactly what i needed it for...remove the stock."
4.0 5
"Was hesitent to get this tool by the negative reviews but it was only $8 so I figured I'd take the chance. The castle nut wrench worked perfect on my M4 (Daniel Defense). Didn't have any threading issues or anything not fitting. and I read a review about the handle needed to be longer.. it was fine for me!"
5.0 5
"Great tool for the stock castle nut. The 3 pronged castle nut teeth line up perfectly. Just be cautious as the threads are made of AL, so hold firmly AND square. Tip: I assisted the removal with one good tap from a rubber mallet."
5.0 5
"This is a great tool. I didn't have slop or slack at all. Fit my castle nut perfect."
2.0 5
"Seemed like a great tool to keep around, especially for the price. It unfortunately didn't line up and I spent more time scratching the ring and buffer tube than tightening it. Seems to be hit or miss."
5.0 5
"Fit the castle nut on my M&P no problem, used it to swar out the standard plate for a single sling plate as well as on a buddy's rifle."
3.0 5
"I needed this tool to add single attachment, but it ended up scratching my AR and bending the ring. After being Extreeemely careful I was able to remove butt stock. I don't plan to taking it off again because I don't need anymore scratches."
1.0 5
"Wasn't even close to fitting the castle nut on my Rock River. The one sold on this site that is just the basic tool for the castle nut works perfect."
4.0 5
"Well, it does what it's suppose to do. The only reason I gave it a four is because it's just a little thin. It slipped off on me the first time I used it but that was because of me. I would say it's a good tool for the price, but just be careful when you use it so it doesn't slip off."
5.0 5
"This wrench does just fine. As with all gunsmithing you have to be careful and take your time or you will scratch your finish if the wrench slips. That said, the wrench fit perfectly and did not slip. I think some people had a hard time with this because the wrench fits exactly and you have to slide it into the notches just right and if you don't get all 3 prongs in the notches it will slip. As with any tool you have to use it correctly or you will have problems. It is sturdy as well as it is made of steel."
5.0 5
"Thanks CTD I got this along with my sling adapter end plate and you got it to me in 1 day Thats AWESOME!!! Guys this wrench is all you really need if you are getting it for your castle nut only it works just fine I used it twice now and no problems be sure the three teeth are in place and you are good!! If this is all your looking for this will do just fine!!"
3.0 5
"My wrench wouldn't fit as I received it. The radius between the lugs was too shallow and the lugs were a little too wide. It took me about an hour with a dremel tool and a small file to make it fit. But, it works now."
5.0 5
"This tool is the right price for the perfect use. If you are buying this, you know exactly what it is for. That being said, it is worth every penny. You will not find a better tool that does not tear your hands up, and does the job perfectly. Highly recommend."
5.0 5
"For the price of this tool, you can't beat it! It was a little bit of a tight fit on the stock wrench portion but works great!"
5.0 5
"Great wrench, does what it is supposed to do, rugged and well built."
1.0 5
"Didn't fit the ring nut... But I did make it fit with a rat tail file and a straight file and about 2 hours of filing... I don't know why they have more than one size of ring nuts and I don't know why they don't tell you this before you order it ? ?"
4.0 5
"I saw some others say they had a fit issue with it being too tight. Mine was actually a little too loose and I ended up scratching the threads a little, so just have to be careful (don't push too hard or might mess up the threads.) But it works great and it's a great price!"
5.0 5
"Shipped fast, fit my castle nut perfectly, and did the job. I would recommend!"
2.0 5
"you get what you pay for. did not fit at first but after 30 mins with a 3 dollar file it works great and and its a good cheap tool, don't expect this to fit right out of the box."
5.0 5
"Not sure what this other customers received, but mine worked great and fit perfectly (took a little elbow grease to remove the factory installed ring) and I couldn't be more pleased with it... Fast shipping as well!"
5.0 5
"This wrench is the best you can get in this price range, hands down. Well made, and with 3 teeth to catch the grooves it works much better than single tooth designs. As far as people saying it does not fit, that is because there are a lot of different manufacturers making these castle nuts. Specs are a little off from maker to maker. I have 7 different examples and they all fit the wrench differently. Some will be loose some tight. If I had to file a little for a close fit that would still be better than my old single tooth wrench that scratched the heck out of everything every time it slipped."
4.0 5
"Decent tool for the price. Did what it needed to."
5.0 5
"Great wrench for the price, great quality."
3.0 5
"This is a good tool. The rubberized grip is nice. The only problem I had was that the flash suppressor removal part of the tool doesn't give you much leverage being right in the middle."
5.0 5
"I bought this wrench, despite a couple bad reviews and I'm glad I did. I've used it to remove the stock and the flash suppressor on my Bushmaster M4A3. It worked great on both. It's well made and fits like a glove. It removed the castle nut easily and didn't leave any marks. I used it to remove the flash suppressor to install a quad rail gas block and it worked equally well. The rubber handle is a nice feature too. Way to go Tapco and CTD!"
4.0 5
"I was hesitant to buy this, due to the reviews being all over the place, but I figured for this price, I'd try it. I'm glad I did because it worked. I did, however, Dremel down the teeth on the wrench a little, just to be on the safe side since so many reviews said the teeth damaged the buffer tube threads. I also put little pieces of electrical tape on the two inside curves of the wrench to prevent excessive scratching of the castle nut. Still ended up with a few small, minor scratches, but no big deal. No damage to the threads though. I have a S&W M&P15 Sport and this wrench worked fine. I just made sure to take my time and be careful. Wrench gets 4 instead of 5 bullets because it's not long enough to give good leverage when tightening and loosening the castle nut. I just used a rubber mallet to tap on the wrench handle to get it going."
5.0 5
"Before you order this, to change a sling ring, take it to a gunsmith to loosen the castle nut for you. DIYS, then after that, just change the sling ring and all is GOOD. A little scratch on the castle nut; just use a marker to cover it. The wrench fits my Lewis Machine and Tool AR."
5.0 5
"Worked great on my Bushmaster M4 and comfortable. Fit the castle nut great. Would recommend but be careful tightening and loosening cause it can come of the track and hit the threads on the buffer tube. Overall good tool."
4.0 5
"Did not fit perfectly, but it worked on S/W MP15 to add an end plate for the new sling."
3.0 5
"I ordered this spanner (castle) nut tool for my Rock River AR-15 receiver extension. It did not fit. All of the Tapco brand tools mention that they fit \"mil-spec\" nuts. The good folks at CTD quickly shipped me a Max-Ops brand tool (costing more) that fit the nut perfectly. I'm not sure what determines a nut as \"mil-spec,\" but there is a difference, as noted by other reviews. The tool that worked for me was Item # 7-28197."
3.0 5
"As supplied, the wrench would not quite fit into the notches of the castle nut on my Rock River AR-15. I had to file some of the teeth to get a good fit. Also, I filed down the area between the teeth so it would not scratch the paint on the outside of the castle nut. Now it's a good wrench."
5.0 5
"Worked great for my colt le6920. Just have to hold it against the buffer tube but so it does not slip off."
5.0 5
"This tool is a must have for anyone who decides to switch there factory stock with an aftermarket stock. Has all tools available in one for self assembly! A must have for everyone and who can argue with the price and service!"
3.0 5
"Not a perfect fit for this wrench, but I was able to get it to work with two of the three teeth fitting. I'll use it because I have it, and would have preferred a better fit."
4.0 5
"It's nothing fancy, but it works fine. People complaining about it scratching their guns are the victims of user error. It's strong, and it fits into the grooves fine."
5.0 5
"Solid piece of gear. Worked great and does exactly what I need it to."
