"I do alot of shooting with all my guns but most of all my 870 express magnum. I do all my own work on my various guns and have ran into a very obvious and dumb problem with this product. While the error could be easily fixed at the factory me and my local gunsmith have found it to be a real pain. I will update my review if and when i figure it out buyer beware. straight shooting out there"

"This product fits, functions and looks perfect! There are no issues with this product. The issue the reviewer above me has, is most likely a design \"improvement\" on the newer 870 shotguns. The spring is captured buy a plug that is notched with the mag tube. So, to load shells past the standard length, you must drill out the notches in the mag tube. No biggie, the holes are under the barrel ring. This only applies to newer 870 shotguns, and is a 5 minute fix and will be required for ALL extended mag tubes. This is not an issue with the mag tube, but the gun. Ths mag tube fits great, looks great and holds +2 3' shells and +3 2 3/4' shells. 7+1 2 3/4 #1 buck? I sleep better at night with this behind the door."

"Great fit and finish. Nice beefy tube, not going to be hurting this thing without a hammer, nice to know I dont have to worry about damaging it. Unlike the plastic mags from another manufacturer. As has been mentioned... there is a mod required to the mag tube on newer 870's. Remington put two dimples in the tube to prevent the stock spring seat from rotating. This allowed them to add teeth to engage the rear of the mag cap preventing it from working loose. The cap holds the barrel in place. (I witnessed an 870 tossing a barrel on a military range from a loose mag cap.) A dremel or die grinder with a cutting bit will make short work of the dimples. I added Tacstar's barrel/mag clamp to act as a locking device to prevent the extended mag from coming loose."

"I think this is a really good product with super easy installation too. I have a newer Remington 870 and I had to file off the the two dimples that Remington put in the magazine tube. I just used a round file and that made short work of them. This is a good deal for an even better product. THANK YOU CTD!!!!!"

"I filed the dimples down in the mag tube and put this extension on. But could still not get it to load more than 5 shells. I finally figured out the little plasic peice that goes on the bottom of the spring (the peice the first shell loaded pushes in) was getting caught where the threads stopped and the smooth part of the extension began. I took the barrel off and put the extension back on (this way I could bury the threads) and now could load up all 7. I then cut the threaded end of the extension down to point the threads were burried and the barrel was tight. Works great now and it is a heavy duty peice. Just alot more to getting it to work than I expected."
