Swift 50/44 A-Frame muzzleloading sabot bullets, 300 grains, A-Frame hollow point, 10 per box.
Black powder shooters now have the opportunity to use what may be the ultimate hunting bullet for muzzleloaders: sabot-encased bullets of world-famous Swift A-Frame construction.
The Swift Bullet Company has announced the availability of pre-assembled, ready-to-load, sabot/bullet assemblies using A-Frame hollow-point bullets with unique new sabots, both specially designed for muzzleloading rifles.
The new Swift bullet construction meets the critical need for effective black powder bullet performance: properly controlled expansion at muzzleloading velocities. Its design allows for sufficient expansion at lower black powder velocities, but prevents the over-rapid, premature expansion common to standard pistol bullets that can reduce necessary penetration. They have a large-volume frontal hollow-point area with six nose cuts on the surrounding jacket for rapid expansion initiation. But the tapered jacket, which is bonded to the pure lead core, keeps expansion under control until it is stopped at optimal diameter by the central A-Frame cross section. The integrity of the rear core that provides the driving force of the bullet is completely protected by its thick copper jacket.
The new "Super Glide" sabots are also constructed specifically for muzzleloading use. Precisely controlled dimensional tolerances provide a snug, concentric bore fit for enhanced accuracy. A proprietary lubricant has been blended into the polymer material to aid in smooth, easy starting, and a fleximer compound has been added to increase toughness. In addition, the geometric shape and inner-beveled tips of the sabot petals flare out immediately for near-instant separation from the bullet so they won't interfere with accuracy. Swift believes these are the most effective, easiest-to-load sabots now available to black powder shooters.
These new sabot/bullet combinations are available for both .50- and .54-caliber rifles. They include a choice of Swift A-Frame .44-caliber bullets of either 240 or 300 grains in weight, each encased in .50-caliber sabots. In addition, two options for shooters with .54-caliber rifles include a choice of Swift A-Frame .45-caliber bullets of both 265 grains and 325 grains - both with .54-caliber sabots.
A-Frame bullets have a long, well-documented reputation for deep penetration, reliable expansion and high weight retention on all types of big game.
Swift sabot/bullet assemblies are packaged with two handy tubes of five bullets each in both .50 and .54 caliber. An example of predicted downrange ballistics is included on the back of each bullet package.
