"This stuff is great- cheap, burns for quite a while, waterproof packaging, etc. I do not use it for MRE heating, but I use it to start the wood in my smoker. Break the bars up in a couple pieces, it will last longer. Also make sure it does not fall through the grate of your smoker (put it on the folding stove part, then pile the wood on that)"

"Actually, I use cheaper than dirts MGR-826 besides this- it is just the bars of fuel, without the metal things."

"These are very used, scorch marks and all, but they work just fine and the price is right. The fuel bar fits inside the stove for easy storage and protection. Good surplus buy."

"Used some of this to heat up JB weld on a heat exchanger on a ski doo when one of the picks punctured it. Would have been stranded without trioxane and JB Weld !!!Also use it for a quick, hot cup of coffee, ,hot chocolate,, to start a fire, heat an MRE or can of beans, whatever. The mini stoves are excellent, they show some use, ,but are galvanized metal. Never go bad!DON'T Head out on the trail without this !!!!"

"Some burn marks, but all parts are tight and doesn't scorch the surface it's on. Great little stove for a canteen full of something."

"You may not find a better camping & survival deal than these little stoves for under two bucks. Get a couple along with some extra trioxane and stash them in your bug-out bag or emergency supply bin. While they are not quite as nice as the famous Esbit brand, these stoves are good-quality copies in good, serviceable condition, and they will certainly outlast your fuel bar supply the next time your lights go out in a storm..."

"Great concept and handy to have, but of the two I bought one had a little corrosion and the other was rusted through. Not worth sending back.. but the fuel tabs in it alone was almost worth it. Would buy a dozen of them if I knew they were not going to arrive rusted."

"The ones I recieved were brand new. I really liked the dozen fuel cells that came with it better than other fuels I've tried. Won't really get small pan of water boiling but does work great to heat stuff up to about 150DegF or better. Will fit can good also by not fully opening the stove. Very Nice little stove for an individual."

"Bought two of these, figured for 2 bucks why not...Both were rusted through at the rivet pivot points, rendering both stoves useless, but I'll agree with other reviewers that the dozen fuel tabs alone are worth the price. I might buy some more and play the odds that I might get a good stove."

"I had never heard of these and bought it on a whim. Mine came looking brand new and never used. I'll have to try it on the trail to see if it works."

"Awesome! Best deal in the catalog! A great stocking stuffer or little gift. Mine came brand new, and was perfect. Can't beat it for two bucks. Throw one in a lunchbox to heat soup or coffee, or keep as a quick emergency kit in the car or office. The solid fuel could also double as a quick fire starter. Just great!"

"This is worth the buy if only to put it in an emergency supply kit. I also purchased a few extra for paintball weekends when we're playing in deep woods and camping. Spend the money and pick up a few. The trioxane tablets are worth the price by themselves."

"These Stoves are of East German Manufacture. They have be in use since World War II, they came on the market as surplus when the 2 Germanies reunited and they were standardizing their equipment. The ESBIT is a simplified version of this stove. ESBIT is cheaper to manufacture."

"My stove arrived in brand new condition. I used it right away with the triox bar and heated a canteen cup of water hot enough to make a steaming cup of coffee. For only two dollars this has got to be one of the best deals at CTD!"

"The stoves that I received are not galvanized metal, they are just plain metal, I bought ten, and two where badly rusted with holes in them and one broke at the rivet. The other eight have rust spots. I can use sand paper on the rust spots and use them, but as I said, they are not galvanized, just plain metal. They look like they have never been used, but I guess they got wet in storage and they rusted. All came with fuel tablets."

"Ordered one set of these. Four of the five were so rusty that the pitting went all the way through. As a previous reviewer stated, they are NOT galvanized. They certainly look like they were never used, but they got wet in storage and they rusted out in spots. Three of the five were rusted so badly on the rivets that hold the hinges that they fell apart on opening. CTD has promised to send replacements but I fear they will be the same as these."

"Like most reviewers have said, these are not galvanized. Mine are rusted but usable. Still OK for the price. Small, easy to carry stove for emergencies. Don't expect more and you won't be disappointed."

"Are they galvanized? Don't think so, but for two bucks, what more do you need? Yes, mine had a little rust, but nothing that would stop them from working for years! Back to my roman noodles."

"Great deal, got em brand new, not rusty and each came with two fuel packets and a stove. So ten fuel packs and five stoves, great design for functionality and best of all was the price. Also very lightwieght, they are a deal. Cook up the rations with this."
