Based on the Vietnam Tomahawk, the new Fusion Tactical Tomahawk is an extreme evolution of the original which was considered one of the more unusual weapons of its day. Today there is a real need for a versatile tool for breaching operations, excavation, obstacle removal, extraction, and other utility applications. The 420 stainless steel head with hard cased coating is mounted to the fiberglass reinforced nylon handle with heavy duty bolts and a steel ferrule for stability. Side hammer checkering insures precise placement when pounding. Carried in a nylon sheath this is a universal tool for modern man.

"This is a pretty useful tool. So far it seems very well made. I am not sure on the handle.. I'd prefer a solid wood handle so I'm a bit concerned on that front otherwise I'd have given it a 5 bullet rating. It's also a tad on the large side, so pack size is a consideration when getting this, however, the size also will tend to give you better head speed on the swing so it's a good thing...better than the SOG battle axe IMO."

"It is large. The composite handle should stand up much better than a wooden handle. I would have designed a bulge at the end of the handle. I looks and feels like it could slip out of your hand under force/stress. The head is afixed to the handle with steel side supports. I expect it to hold up well. The sheath does not have a very strong or large belt attachment...and not the best closure system. Overall, a very good SOG product."

"a tomahawk is just a light duty camp tool not for abuse. a weapon and a hunting tool. its supposed to have a light handle for throwing at game or enemies. the handle is flush so it can leave your hand with zero resistance. this is for killing not chopping wood. a very good product for its proper use. if you want a camp axe get a hatchet, saw, machete, bowie knife...... i wouldn't use a shotgun to dig a hole. would you?"

"It is good. After cutting wood it still is sharp enuf to cut paper. The cover works fine if you put the loop on a belt then put in the Tomahawk."

"I got this over 4 months ago and have been doing some chopping and throwing and it holds its own. it cuts very well and will take out small logs(6-8 in.) with no problem. when chopping i tie a small amount of 550 cord in the 1st grove from the blade and make a loop, like an ice axe , giving me extra security so I don't send it flying losing it or even hitting someone. Throwing the hawk is a skill that Im still working on but it does make a rather sweet whistle noise as it sails through the air caused by the two holes in the blade. The pick, or death spike as I call it, is fun to stick in logs, stab debris out of your way, or use as a line of defense when you need a single point of penetration. All in all, this is a great camp tool/defense weapon that I have fun with each time I use it, and seems to be holding together every chop."

"Well made, solid all around. Not for cutting down trees, but great for a defensive or survival axe. I bought two after getting a recommendation from a friend and I am not disappointed."

"This is a very nice tomahawk style axe. This works really good for chopping up kindling. I also took the idea from one of the posters below and attached a short length of para-cord from CTD to the hole in the handle to make a lanyard."

"I got this hawk to go in my b.o.b., but will be using it in my everyday outdoor excursions.Oout of the box it shaves, very surprised by that, but then again I have never had anything bad to say about any SOG tools or knives that I have had occasion to use.The hammer faces on the sides annoy me slightly, I would have preferred something a little more traditional, but this little ax definitely rocks! The cover is crap, going to be looking for a leather top loader."

"This is a very powerful tomahawk sharp out the box and it feels good in the hand. I have to say with that sweet death spick at the end my zombie killing powers just went up. GET IT NOW!"

"I finally got a chance to actually test my Fusion in the field and I have to say I am more then pleased with it. I'm going to be buying another one and have already convinced several friends to get one as well. That said the reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is the only problem I've had is with the sheath. When I was trekking through the woods every time a branch or log hit the handle it would break free from the sheath almost getting lost in the woods. But other then that great buy I strongly recommend."

"This little tomahawk literally went way beyond my expectations. I used sog pocket knives in iraq and loved them i decided to give this a try on a two week feild exercise i literaly chopped trees, threw this things hundred of times and let others throw it as well. this ax was so reliable that i am getten at least two more for my bug out kit and just a extra to play with. I have now become a sog dedicated person. This AX has not bent, chipped, or cracked of any kind and i have thrown it at concrete on accident. It will serve as a great around the yard tool as well. excellent...."

"I have two of these now, and they are great. They come very sharp, and you can hone them to a razor edge if you need to....They are lightweight and compact enough to pack along, but stout enough to do fairly serious duty as a weapon or a hatchet."

"I bought one of these last week, right out of the box it was amazingly sharp, good solid construction and great balance. I field tested it a few day's ago, very impressed. I bought it as a self defense weapon while hiking(gun's aren't allowed in open space parks for some reason)but it preformed great as a camp axe too. I threw it into several trees from about 20ft, with some practice this thing really throws great. The cover did loose one of it's rivets the second day I had it, but I wanted a different cover for it anyway..."

"This is a nice well built piece of equipment, but the sheath is junk. Ive been burning the strings away and it seems to help. If you get one be careful the top of the sheath is open!!! Thats how I found out it was extremely sharp."

"I took this tomahawk on my last camping trip and put it through hell and it's still as sharp as it was when i got it. great buy. no wonder CTD can't keep them in stock."

"Very pleased. I'm going to modify the handle with expanded rubber. It'll make it a bit easier to hold on to.I'm also going to put a leather thong on the end.I'd hate to see this thing slip from someone's hand."

"This thing is SHARP!!! I have ony used it around the house trimming branch off of the trees in the back yard, but this thing works with very little effort. Most of the branches were about an inch to 3 inches thick. I had a tall bush (about 9') in the yard that the axe took out in about 5-minutes. Roots and all. This axe is still as sharp as it was when it came out of the box. The sleeve is worthless. It's already falling apart and I've only taken it off, and put it back on 2 or 3 times. But I didnt buy it for the "cool looking" sleeve. I've never heard of SOG before, but I'm a believer now. They are just as good if not better than Gerber. And I have a lot of Gerber products. Great product for the price. I give it 4 out of 5 bullets because of the sleeve."

"This Sog tomahawk is great, very rugged, and comes extremely sharp out of the box. It is a amazing throwing weapon. I'm not skilled at it but I can sink it in to plywood about a 1/4 of an inch. You need this weapon!"

"I ordered this just to add to my collection. When I received it, I just couldn't hang it on the wall! I put an edge on it and, started carrying it on my pack. I made a top draw holster for it so the hawk could be drawn with one hand. I have cut small sticks for fire wood, pounded tent stakes with the side, the spike side works great for opening crates. My only problem with the tomahawk was the diameter of the handle, it's just too small. It was easy to fix with hockey stick tape, just build up a handle to fit your hand and it's good to go."

"Bought this for a friend as a birthday gift and we recently tested it out. Has a sharp edge out of the box and cuts wood with ease. Flew very true, even for inexperienced throwers like us. Plan on purchasing one for myself."

"Great Tool for camping! I say this is more of a "tool" then a Weapon, but a weapon if need be. Great for Camping. I let my younger cousins chop wood and use it as a tool around the campsite. Wish I had this as a Marine in Iraq."

"This is by far the best thing I have ever purchased on the internet, strong durrible and makes a frightening sound when flying through the air. The sheaths junk but I solved that by cutting a hole in the top of it and just wear it upside down. This product is a must have for any outdoorsman or would be zombie killer."

"This tomahawk is SWEET!!!! Just showed it to a co-worker, he's buying asap. Great quality, great price, great product. Thanks as always CTD!"

"According to the 2010 American Handgunner Personal Defense magazine, this puppy's MSRP is $65.00. After reading the review on it, I decided I wanted it. Man am I glad I checked CTD first. Well, I ordered it on 5/21 and got it today, 5/24. It is exactly as described. The blade is sharp, but not as sharp as it could be, but that is easily remedied. If you are looking for a handy utility 'hawk, this is the one to get."

"Just used this to chop down a dead 10-15 foot pine tree and it made QUICK work of it! Just wish i used gloves as the blisters are starting to get in the way."

"This was the first tomahawk I have bought and it will most likely be the only type I will ever buy. Very durable and versatile. Great for chopping trees and almost anything else, definitely necessary for camping or going in the woods."

"Got mine in the mail today and it took 5 mins to get it stickin in a pine tree. Bought a colt steel tomahawk and it broke the next day. This one is alot stronger with the one I had before. Already love it."

"Right out of the package I was impressed with this. It's not just a mean weapon should you need it, it's a full service tool to help you take on just about anything. Unlike some of the other tomahawks on this site this one has more of a pickaxe on the opposite side from the blade rather than another blade. It's not sharp on the back end but its thick steel is focused to a specifc point making it the perfect tool to break through just about anything. It works for chopping, prying, breaking, digging, and whatever else you come up with. It's got solid construction and is a bit heavy on the top end but overall has a good balance and feel. I can't wait to to take it on my next camping trip."

"The case is crap and you can expect it to pretty much be useless right out of the box, but the tomahawk is awesome. Took it camping and it hacked through all kinds of stuff. I bought this cause I heard a story of some Marine in Iraq that used it and it saved his life. I didn't know the military still used them up until that point."
