"The SOGs are great knives, especially the addition of the SAT (assisted opening) and the safety lock. Blades are sharp and hold their edge. A couple things though - it's easier to open the blade, by pushing the thumb stud toward the front than out; and even though they say it's ambidextrous, it's better suited for right-handed people because the safety and the release are on the right."

"After much torment from friends talking up SOG folders I desided to try this one out... Let me tell you, Iam very glad I did! Iam a firefighter tech for the local fire department here. I had this knife for about 3 weeks and we get hit out for a water rescue. While clearing the dock/ launch area of civ watercraft so we could launch our rescue boat one of the boats left about 20 feet of nylon rope in the water and it became tangled in our prop. i couldnt reach the prop from the deck of our craft so i had to jump in the water and untangle the rope.... The knife blade deployed underwater better then i could have hoped. A single stroke of the blade and we were free to race off to the scene and i beleive saving a few lives that day."
