"this product is not practical. you cannot see your iron sights. you must always have use of your iron sights... you can shoot just as good open sighted ( or even better ), as you can with a scope !"

"This is quite an ingenious product as long as you know you're going to be shooting long range or know you'll have time to prepare for a shot. If not, and an open-sighted shot is more appropriate that's tough luck as this item does impair use of the iron sights."

"Okay, so lets be frank. It's ugly, but it works. This is the best product I have found that allows me to have the larger scope setup with my SKS, since I like a full grasp mounting. You can't see the stock sights, but you shouldn't need to. The reason you are getting this product is to put a bigger scope on your SKS. It does its job. Very simple, very reliable. Plus, easily removable in case you get a bad jam. Good product, and cheap."

"What good is your rifle without your iron sights? sure it does a great job at what it says it will do but lets be honest..... Its an SKS, which meaning an assault rifle. It dont need a scope i bought a scope for it and it looked goofy and so did the shell deflector."

"So simple I feel stupid for not just making my own. the cuts that slip over the sights needed to be filed a bit but now ive got a great shell deflector that fits snug and tight"

"I shouldn't have, but bought it...And like some of the other reports, you can't use the sights, Not do I have room to mount a longer scope, Isn't anything more then a cheap piece of tin"

"Cheap and looks like crap. serves the purpose when you need to use a scope which I do, due to diabetes and age. It is strictly a jury rig work around. Lets face, it this gun was never intended to use a scope, but for a good inexpensive rifle that will take a white tail you can't beat it for twice the money."

"Well, I tried one of these. It when bent around to grasp upon mounting still felt loose and flimsy. It is such thin metal it does not stay tight and when gun is fired slides and scrapes scope. My shells look like they would clear, I bought this to make sure.Did I bend it wrong? Is there a heavier one? This one felt more like a tin template the real one would be made from out of harder steal.Has a shell ever flew up and hit a scope on an SKS?"

"This is ok if you are a person with tons of time to \"fit\" it and then want to perminently tack weld it to your rifle. It does the job, but I have one made by another company for the same price that screws down on the scope mount. IF you do buy it, flatten the end, and shape it to your gun, then heat harden it, it is way soft, and then take the two \"fingers\" on the end and use a gun punch to bend them AROUND the end of the sight. Then tack with a mig or whatever you have. OR, you can tap a very small hole in the side of the sight mount on both sides. If you weld it, you can't clear jams very easy, if you tap it then you need an allen wrench and time to clear jams."

"Very functional. Not the best looking, but heck, who cares. As to those people who complain they can't use the irons: IT'S FOR IF YOU WANT TO USE A SCOPE! Come on people. And it is not as flimsy as some have made out. It takes a decent amount of force to bend this sucker. It was very easy to install (3 minutes with a pair of pliers). Only reason it didn't 5 stars is because the bands of metal that wrap around the rear sight block are a little too thick and hard to bend around the sight block."

"This is terrible. I put it on, shoot a few rounds and it will fall off and you have to put it back on. Plus, the steel is so soft that after putting it back on a couple times the metal tabs will break. Spend a little more and get one that screws into the Leapers scope mount."

"I got one of the SKS shell deflectors and this thing is cheap cheap cheap. Had to file it to make it fit. Almost broke while filing it! After that I put my scope back on just to find out I have to buy scope mounts that are higher so I can mount the scope. I don't know what I'm going to do but this shell deflector will not be in the planes!"
