"To avoid the gummy crud coating my bolt face, I opted to try the Silver Bear over Wolf or Brown Bear. The zinc plating fills the role of the lacquer/polymer coatings, and does so flawlessly. 500 rounds through a freshly built Rommy G kit, and not a single failure. It grouped incredibly well to top it all off. Barely had any red flakes on the bolt face from the primer seal. It came off with two passes of the brush. It is dirty stuff, but what Russian 7.62x39 ammo isn't? The Barnaul stuff is arguably the best of all the Russian ammo, and paying a few extra bucks for the zinc plating is well worth it."

"I fired roughly 300 rounds as soon as they came in. The zinc coating is far superior to the lacquer coating that is on most other brands. No residue on the bolt face, the red coating on the primer didn't flake onto the face at all. No misfires, and when I cleaned my rifle, it was surprisingly \"clean\" compared to all the other manufacturers I have used. I will only buy these from now on, and will recommend to anyone."

"Put about 300 through my GP WASR-10/63. I had about a 7-9 inch groups off of sandbags at 175 Yards, with a TruGlo 30mm 4-MOA red-dot w/no magnification. With a smaller reticle, I'm confident that I could tighten the group to around 6-7 inches. Compared to Yugo surplus, the load feels weak, but still slightly hotter than Wolf Performance. Also not as accurate as Yugo Surplus, which was giving me 6-7\", with a big reticle. Shiny steel cases make it easier for me to pickup after myself after a shoot in the woods. I hate it when the government closes off places because of irresponsible shooters who leave crap behind. All in all, I would definitely buy again. It's nothing special, just quality imported 7.62x39. The zinc coating (very, very thin BTW) increases the lubricity of the casing, making them feed smoother from my Tapco mags. I like it better than the polymer coatings that are available."

"No complaints. Excellent ammo for the price. Rounds feed nice with the zinc coating. Had 1 misfire per 300 rounds versus 15 misfires per 30 rounds with the Wolf ammo in my Mini-30. Primer is to hard with the Wolf ammo to use in the Mini-30, even with the stronger hammer spring suggested by Wolf. Will be using Silver Bear from now on."

"Very nice, accurate ammo from my WASR 10/63. Have fired 500 rounds without a single hiccup from TAPCO mags. Doesn't 'feel' or 'sound' as hot as the Yugo Surplus stuff, but that's fine. There are no real gains with the zinc plating, so don't let the shiny case sell you. Brown Bear, Tula, Uly, Wolf etc are just as good. But if you like the look, by all means, spend the money. This would make for some fine zombie ammo, however, I think I'll go for some of the cheaper options that are available. ALL ammo is 'dirty', the is no such thing as 'clean' ammo, only corrosive and non-corrosive (this is non-corrosive). In any case you should be thoroughly cleaning your weapon after every visit to the range or walk through the post-apocolyptic nuclear wasteland. 5 bullets, but it's nothing special. Just a good ol' FMJ that feeds and goes bang every time. Remember: Safety First!"

"I've shot about 150 rounds so far and no jams, but I measured the speed with a ProChrono Digital Chronograph from Competition Electronics in part for my masters' thesis and it averages around 2300 fps or less through my 7.62x39 AR15. I don't know if it would be different in an AK, but it's definately slower than advertised. Good ammo so far."

"Fired 300+ rounds with my AK this past weekend on the farm. The hogs never had a chance. No jams or misfeeds and a little smoky. It fired cleaner than expected. It is definitely recommend. Buy while you can. Also, I fired HP at the range with no problems there. Very good ammo."

"So far, I've put 500+ rounds through my Century Arms WASR-10/63 and I have yet to have a FtF, or FtL. It pretty damned accurate and pretty clean for 7.62x39 Russian stuff. I love it. The Zinc coating is well worth the few extra pennies as well. Makes it super easy to clean without all the gummy lacquer and the casings are really easy to find as they are so bright. Makes cleanup a cinch."

"Recently I got out my old SKS with the original wooden stock. I exchanged the wooden Stock with the Tapco composite stock and this thing looks great. I ordered 500 rounds and shot over the weekend. I love this ammo and it is cheap. It was clean and I had zero issues with misfires, jams, etc. I highly recommend this stuff."

"300 rds fired this last weekend through a WASR-10 and no FTF's or misfeeds at all. They fed smoothly regardless of rate of fire, and were easier to police up because of the shiny cases. I've only fired Yugo surplus other than this ammo, and this was only the second time out with this rifle, so I can't really comment on accuracy except to say they were accurate enough to keep all shots on an 8.5\" X 11\" sheet of paper at 200 meters - as good as the Yugo surplus it seems. It was a little cleaner than the Yugo surplus as well with regard to the bolt-face."

"This stuff works great, no problems in my Romanian WASR-10. I like the plating, allthough very thin it does the trick. Recommend this product 100%"

"Nice ammo. My AK loves it so I\"m going to buy more. Cheaper than anywhere else I can find it in stock and fast shipping (1 1/2 business days total). Notice how many companies online that have good prices make you wait 2-4 days just to ship your order? I should have bought my mags here too."

"Great ammo! Best cheap ammo I have used in my Mini 30. My five round after market mags tend to have problems with some ammo. They worked great with the Silver Bear. This seems to be cleaner than the Brown Bear also."

"Good ammunition, put several dozen rounds through my wasr10 at the range after shooting up my old crappier stuff and no problems, seemed to be more accurate than the Tula brand ammo, but I didn't do a scientific test : P"

"If your serching for cheap ammo to shoot out of your ruger mini-30 this is your ammo. Best cheap performing ammo I have bought for my mini-30. 500 rounds shot and only bout ten misfires. Works with the original firing pins as well so if your looking for mini-30 that works this is the ammo to buy as I finally came to find out 8 brands later :D"

"I fired 100 rounds out of my Chinese SKS today. It worked perfectly; No FTFs or FTEs. This ammo seemed cleaner than other inexpensive ammo I have used. I was trying out a new red dot scope and once I got zeroed in, was doing 2\" groups at 75 yards. I plan on purchasing another 500 rounds next month and possibly another 500 in the hollow point version. I bought this ammo a few weeks ago for $112/500. The price has gone up by $34 dollars per case in a very short time. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. But even at the new price, I still think this ammo is worth the money."

"This ammo was perfect for a good day at the range.I bought 3 cases of these Awesome rounds. 2 to burn up and 1 to stock. Here is a list of pros and cons for this brand of 7.62x39:Pros:It shot flawlessly with no FTF with my AK-47.It was cheap! ( Thanks CTD!! )It stores great, over 2 years and my last clip burnt up just as fast as day one.It makes one HELL OF AN EXIT with the hog I bought!!!The Bi-Metal bullet SHREDS its way through anything fleshy.Cons:Though my SKS the bullet jammed against the barrel wall, pushing the bullet into the casing. It's a bit dirty and smelled like Cedar Chips out of the box.____________I will buy more of this brand for my WAS-R 10 over and over!Oh, and the bullets I mentioned jamming in the SKS... Even with the bullet jammed into the shell shot fine in the AK-47.Thanks again CTD!!!"

"Recently bought a Mini-30 and was looking for good plinking ammo. If you are looking for ammo for plinking and you own a Mini-30, look no further. This ammo works great! Inexpensive and reliable! Had no problems with feeding or firing. Worked in 10, 20, and 30 round magazines! Great stuff! Will buy more!"

"Have used mostly TulAmmo, and have nothing but positive results. That being said, it tends to run far dirtier than brass-cased stuff. From what I can gather/read about Silver Bear this is a better alternative if you want to omit lacquer/polymer from the equation. Should make for a little easier/cleaner running firearms."

"Great economically priced AK ammo. I've found the range accuracy is fine at 50m & 100m. Zinc plated casing means it resists corrosion and slides thru the mechanisms much better. Russian ammo is for 'Russian' weapons and Barnaul SilverBear is excellent for my Romanian AK!! Nicely priced. Thanks C.T.D."

"Bought my first AK-47, A Romanian SAR-1. So after allot of research on which AK to purchase, then came the research on the right ammo for the weapon. After reading many reviews on many types of 7.62x39, chose the Silver Bear in the FMJ, 123 grain. This ammo is great, not one issue what so ever in shooting this ammo in different modes of fire. Left the weapon dirty on purpose, left it outside on the deck, dip it in water, this ammo still continued to shoot without fail. After several hundred rounds and still no issues, I took weapon apart an inspected each part. The parts were not overly dirty, no more than normal. All I got to say is this Silver Bear was flawless. Next I will be purchasing the HP rounds as they will be my self defense ready mode if they shoot as well as the FMJ. Great ammo, great price."

"I bought 2 cases of this for my AK's and SKS. I can say this is good ammo. No issues at all. All rounds fired and cycled fine. It was worth paying a little extra for the zinc plated rounds. I will be buying more of this."
