"I ordered this 556 Patrol from CTD (The best price I found) and I'm thrilled with it. Rock solid reliability, very accurate and well balanced for a piston rifle. As always CTD shipped it quickly and it showed up at my FFL in perfect condition."

"Waited for this rifle to be released off backorder a while back and finally received it. First time to the range, rifle was shooting low and to the left. Had one of the guys at the range look at it since I thought it could be me, but he had same problem. The gunsmith there also had the same problem. We couldn't sight the gun in. Sent back to Sig the first part of March and they could not correct problem and said they would have to ship new rifle. I was told NONE in stock and would have to wait. Meanwhile, I noticed CTD received some off backorder...go figure. Not a happy camper."

"I own several hand guns and shot guns, but this was my first AR-style purchase. It was difficult to find in stock, but CTD sent me an auto-email when one became available. I have had it out several times, and it has performed flawlessly, even hot. No troubles yet..."

"In my opinion, the best buy for a rifle in this price range right now. Only other items I would consider would be the ACR \"enhanced\" which is still nearly 2k, and pretty much the best rifle on the market, the HK416, in the 3k + range.Went with this model because the half-length piston negates the front-heavy balance problems with the classics, better control and handling. Not a fan of fore-grips, lights and lasers so I passed on the more expensive quad rail variant.A fantastic weapon. Eats anything, including steel-cased Russian stuff, without a hitch. Barely needed more than a bore snake through the barrel once after several hundred rounds on its first outing. Just as clean after the second trip to the range.Diopter sight took a bit of getting used to, but actually seem to work very well once I got used to being able to see anything through a tiny little aperture. Undecided on what I'm going to do for optics. Either an EOTech and flip magnifier or an ACOG of some variety. Would remove the irons for the former, and mount the latter so the irons could still be used. I would have to bite the bullet and buy a cheek riser for the stock with the ACOG as well.Anyway, buy one and enjoy!"

"The Sig Sauer 556 Patrol Rifle is a great weapon and at CTD, available at a great price. They don't call the 556 The Porsche of rifles for nothing, it's a battle tested design with a load of smart features in a well shooting and light design. I'm an AR owner but this rifle is superior. (Just FYI,the bolt handle comes shipped in the rifle's handle compartment, I've seen a review where the owner thought it was missing.)"
