"Once installed, this scope mount is rock solid. But \"without altering the weapon\" and \"easy to install\" have no place in this product description. Had I not built this rifle myself from pieces, installing this product would have been very difficult. You must compleatly disassemble the rifle, remove the rear sight (and keep it off), carve out space in the stock under the barrel, shorten (permanently modify) the handguard, and permanently remove the barrel ring. This is a great item, just know what you are getting to."

"You do not have to alter the metal of the weapon. If you're going to use this, put a new stock on it if you've got the original, so that you can make room for the mounting ring. Some 1903A3s had peened on rear sights. If you have one of those rear sights, you will have to drill through the peen to get the rear sight off. If you then tap the hole you drilled, you can put a set screw in it to put the sight back on. If you're really a stickler, you can purchase a new rear sight that is an original 1903A3, but a press fit only. If you remove the front sight blade, you can remove the handguard band without damaging it. Leave the mounting band loose until you get the mount lined up and finger tight. Then you can tighten it all down. I never used loc-tite on it and 500 rounds later, they're still tight. Great mount for a great gun."

"I had a B-Squared mount on a custom rifle with a 1903A3 action. It would not hold zero, so I replaced it with this S & K and now it is rock solid. The hardest thing about mounting it was getting the forward ring on since my barrel is bigger than the action."
