"Holsters for this Ruger are, well, non-existent (unless you want some odd-ball Wester holster, etc.). The catalog showed it to be compliant with optics was a bonus plus (using a Burris FastFireII on the OEM Ruger supplied weaver rail included with the pistol). Just tried it out this morning and no dice. This holster is NOT compatible with the OEM weaver rail that Ruger INCLUDES with the pistol in the box. Looking at it, you could cut the rail down about 3cm and still use a red dot (but a ring setup would probably no longer work). Yes, this holster will be great for those with a shorty rail, or no optics mounted, but I find it incredibly frustrating that it will not not work with the rail that Ruger supplies with the pistol."

"I own a Ruger 22/45 and have been looking for quite some time for a holster that really fit this gun. Shipping was fast, and when I opened it I was not disappointed. It is ambidextrous, has an adjustable loop, which gives you the option to wear as a drop-down-offset holster. Or higher on the hip, and retains the firearm very securely. This would be the perfect holster if it had a retention press button to release the firearm (much like the RSR paddle holsters). I don\uFFFDt have any optics on my 22/45, nor do I plan to get any for this gun, so the problem regarding the Ruger factory rail not fitting this holster was not an issue for me."

"This Holster is great!! I have a Ruger MK III Target Pistol and it fits perfectly. It is very durable, and I love that it comes with the low ride attachment. I don't have any optic mounts or sights on my pistol so I can't comment on the other posts that say it doesn't fit. Very comfortable to wear, and looks sharp. Overall a great holster for the MK series!"

"Excellent product! Finding a decent holster for the Ruger Mark series is difficult, but this one is great! I use the low ride attachment to allow for a quicker pull. I haven't had any issues with this holster scratching my stainless bull barrel."

"I just recieved my Black Dog Holster for my new M3 22/45 RP. I saw the other review about it, it said a M3 with factory rail will not fit. So I was ready to have to do some modification. To my suprise my M3 with a sightmark Holo sight with Ruger factory rail fit just fine with a 1/2\" to spare and no problems with the sight. I have not tried it yet but by what I could see, it looks like I would be able to put a scope on it with no problems. The only thing is when I mounted the rail I made sure it was right up to the rear sight maybe this is the differents that made it fit."

"I have the 22/45 bull barrel and this holster fits like a glove. It is about 2\" longer than the barrel but does not hurt a thing. Tension can be quickly adjusted and it comes with 2 different options on how you want it to hang from the belt. I prefer the belt loop piece that allows a lower hanging holster. Very nice! Handgun rides well and hangs perfect. WELL worth the money !!!"

"I just bought a 22/45 mark iii with the threaded barrel and upper and lower mounts. I have a sight mark red dot attached to the mount on top. I don't know what the description is talking about. I got my holster, immediately put the pistol (with 4 or 4.5 in barrel) straight into the holster and . . . . . . *click* - perfect fit. I didn't have to change up my gun at all. The fit was perfect but drawing the weapon was hard. I simply backed out the retention screws and it is perfect. GOOD BUY!"

"I have a Ruger Mark III in .22 LR customized with a Pac-Light 10\" aluminum barrel; almost impossible to find a holster for. This one works fine for me. The end has an open nose so the 10\" barrel hangs out the end (fits right into the hammer loop on Carhartt pants). The high ride and standard ride are 2\" apart. Either one works with mine. You have to play with the tension screws until you feel some resistance on the withdrawal. It comes out of the box way loose. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality."

"I was unsure about the fit as I have a Bushnell TRS -25 mounted on the rail of my 22/45. I was astonished when the gun slid in and snapped into place. Just to be on the safe side I used a hand file and removed about 1/32nd of an inch of material at the closest contact point. I have the red dot mounted pretty far back on the factory supplied rail and I am sure that helped. This was a budget priced holster but had high quality components and a perfect fit. If I had another Ruger 22/45 I would buy another one of these holsters."

"This holster is perfect. Made from kydex, and a perfect adjustable fit. I use this holster for a stainless MK III Hunter with a Burris Fastfire II attached using the ruger scope base. I would have rated this higher if possible. Great value for the price. Buy it!"

"I have a Mark II with 6 7/8\" barrel. About 1/2\" of the barrel protrudes from the bottom of the holster. I debated not deducting a bullet for this, but decided since the holster wasn't exactly what I would have wanted that 4 bullets was the best rating for me. Other than this issue, the holster performs well. Converting to left-hand was not difficult and the tension is easily adjustable to my preference."

"I have no Idea about optics not fitting . Off other reviews I ordered the holster,NO PROBLEM. I have the mark III hunter with a Bass Pro dot sight mounted with factory mounting.NO PROBLEM. My 14 yr old changed the holster to a lower slung carry and adjusted the tension, again NO PROBLEM?"

"I received the holster today. The first look and feel verified that I made the right purchase. Adjusted the tension to my liking took all of four minutes. Holstered my Mark III with a electro sight red dot, put it on my two inch belt and off I went to the range. No muss no fuss I found out that all great holsters are not made by the big names. Would rate it six if I could. My next holster will be a Black Dog without a doubt."

"Fits my MK 111 22/45 with factory rail and Millet SP-1 and locks in. Drops in about 1/8\" farther if I remove the sunshade from the red dot. No adjustments or modifications necessary."

"Great holster for the Ruger. With options included for either a high or a regular carry, it more than beats what I have seen on the market out there. My Mark II fits like a glove and the tension adjusts for a custom feel."
