"it says this thing is suposed to reduce recoil, but i feel no effect, but it does look cool and it does reduce flash!"

"i do really notice a difference with this thing on and off. the gun maintains its power but with better accuracy, less recoil, and muffled sound. i am very happy with this product. (read up on it at rimfirecentral.com)"

"Havn't fired with it yet, but as far as looks go, it is cool, I just don't love that it sticks out wider than the barrel, makes it look a little like it doesn't belong. And also was soo tight it stripped all the beautiful camo paint of the end of my barrel of my brand new camo 10/22. But it looks alright"

"This thing looks really cool on your gun but,,,, it made no diffrence, does not reduce recoil but flash it does, and the sound aint muffled or nothin, this product is just fer looks."

"I cant tell if it is reducing ith amount of recoil of my gun but it sure looks cool. The only problem with it is that to install it you tighten an allan screw aginst the barrel which holds the Muzzle brake on, but after a lot of fireing the allen screw becomes loose and the brake falls off. I put some super glue on the allan screw threads and tightened it up and let it sit over night, and havent had any more trouble with it."

"Just bought one of these. It comes with an allen wrench to tighten the set screw ... but ... guess what. The allen wrench is the wrong size and doesn't fit the screw.Fortunately I had a set of wrenches and managed to find one that worked. Just seems like a poor quality job of kitting."

"Haven't had the chance to test for a change in performance yet but the aesthetics are much improved. Installed without trouble however the hex wrench that came with it WAS the WRONG size. Luckily I had one of my own that worked. You would think that of all the things that could get easily messed up in manufacturing this would be the hardest. Otherwise this is a five bullet product. As always shipping was amazingly fast."

"The main reason I bought this muzzle break was for the look. While out hunting the muzzle break came off and i fired a couple rounds to see the difference with it off. There was a very noticable difference in noise reduction but not so noticable ruduction of kick (its only a .22). It is a lot quieter. The hex wrench is the wrong size but if you push it down in hard it makes it tight enough. I went ahead and drilled a little hole (not even 1/16\"deap) in the barrel where the set screw would enter. A little locktight on the screw, and it hasn't came off since, works great."

"I have to agree with all the previous reviews, this muzzele brakes does not do much for reducing barrel jump - after all, it is a .22 rimfire on a rifle at that. How much can the barrel rise on a 10-22 anyway? But it certainly gives my 10-22 a much better look and is a great start to dressing up a gun such as this. The noise level may be reduced a tiny bit, but I wear hearing protection anyway so I can't tell the differance. As for flash reduction, there is a noticeable reduction, especially if you shoot under a canopy like I do at some of the ranges I go to. So if you want to buy one, buy it for the great look that it will five your gun and a little bit of function that it offers also."

"Trouble free install, trouble free use, helps with the flash a bit, sends some of the \"Crack\" down range away from my ears and keeps my sights level when really pulling the trigger a lot so I guess the \"recoil\" from this .22 LR 10/22 has been reduced!"

"what are you guys talking about??? You are shooting a .22LR there is no recoil with or without this part. Even a .22 pistol doesn't kick, period. We all know what this part is designed for even if CTD can't claim it, and it ain't recoil. I am getting this part today for looks and looks only. Recoil... on a .22 what is the world coming to? try a S&W 500 then you can talk recoil.thanks again CTD,Matt"

"I love the look of my ruger 10/22 again brought it back to life."

"Looks BAD (good) on my Ruger with Dragunov stock !! Do not try using included allen wrench, could strip screw head. Wrench a bit too small. Reached in my tool box, got me a correct size wrench, got me some Loctite and presto..!! Do not know if it \"reduces\" recoil and do not care..My Ruger looks BAD (good).!!"
3.0 5
"As the holes are vertical ported and not rearward ported this will not help with recoil a bit. But with a 22 who needs that anyway? However it will help with muzzle climb, which for a rapid double tap type second shot it is worth it."
4.0 5
"This drastically reduced climb and recoil on my 10/22. Only problem was the screw that came with it, stripped out and the allen wrench wasn't fitted to the hex head. So went to ACE hardware and replaced screw with a stainless steel one. Problem solved!"

"This is the best item of its type that I have ever tried. It looks awesome on my 10/22. I can't notice any reduction in recoil or muzzle climb but it is after all a 22. What do you expect. If you have 22 recoil issues you would be better giving up shooting."

"I got one of these after reading the Duncan Long book on the 10/22. In it,he suggests using a flash suppressor to as a \"false muzzle\" to reduce the amount of dirt that can get into the muzzle should you stumble while in the field. I've had to clean out my flash suppressor numerous times but checking the muzzle showed that that idea is valid and have never had to clean dirt from the barrel after taking a spill."

"-I've got this little evil looking thing added to my 10-22 and it does look good with the dragunov stock. -I don't notice a difference when shooting my 10-22 with and without the MB, but my range buddies have said it sounds different then other .22s and they like shooting my rifle as well. So, a 5 again.-But, I had a major problem when I got the kit, the mounting screw was stripped in the allen wrench (female) hole. I flipped out my leatherman and tightened it with the pliers which solved the problem instantly."

"It took a good while to get one of these but was worth the wait. Glad I had read the previous posts about the allen wrench supplied with the MB, they are correct, it's very soft. Used one of my own and had no problem.Definatly ads a \"serious business\" look to any 10/22 equipped with a military-style stock."

"Over all a decent muzzle brake, but don't waste your time with the set screw that comes with it. It is way to soft. I would get a hardened steel one and use some loc-tite. After that it worked fine."

"As a college student that loves to run and gun, I can't afford the big toys just yet. So I run my Mossberg 500 or my Ruger 10-22. This is a quality part, but just like every body else, I have run into a problem with the set-screw. P.S. the Ruger 10-22 is poor man's AR-15. It's not the size, it's the placement of the bullet."

"Like many other reviewers, I purchased this for looks, and to protect my muzzle. It looks great, especially with my Tech Sights, together they create an entire new look for the end of my rifle. I haven't noticed any change in performance from the rifle, but it is a welcome cosmetic change. I too had to replace the set screw (4mm x 4mm), and drilled a small recess into my barrel to accept the set screw. Some loctite to hold it all together, and the simple job is done."

"Looks great and it has improved my groupings"

"Finally ordered this to go along with the Dragonov Stock. Got it basically for the looks. Had the same problem as most everyone else, with the set screw. Cost me 79 cents at the hardware store for a replacement. The hex head isn't milled deep enough into the screw so it strips very easily."

"It took two minutes. It looks great with all my Tapco stuff. Be careful not to over tighten the mounting screw. If you do, it will still work, but try not to."

"I bought this muzzle break a year ago. First of all, the set screw is crap. It just doesn't stay tight. Second you don't even need a muzzle break on a .22., but it does look good on the 10/22. I do not recommend this product"

"I ordered this for asthetic reasons only. I saw a pic on the net and really liked the look. Figured it would complete the tactical look of my Ruger 10/22. As for the shipping, thats a different story, why would i pay nearly the price of my purchase on shipping (muzzle brake and some new rings) A week later still hasnt arrived and I only live 2 hours from the warehouse and the tracking info is jumk. Really come on now. Where is where is my stuff?"

"It's tough when you find your muzzle brake in the dirt because the set screw backed up durrng use. It's even worse when the same set screw go worn out from having to be tighten only a few times. It's just rediculous when that same set screw is now stick in the muzzle break and you can't back it out even to reinstall or replace it. So pretty much I have a useless piece of roughly machined metal laying around unless it's JB welded on. It was good while it lasted, couldn't comment on accuracy improvement, just got it for looks."

"Ok a .22 doesn't need a muzzle brake, but it does look cool, as far as flash suppression, I'm not impressed. The ports should angle towards the back. easily fixed in a machine shop."

"Bought this for my sons 10/22. Installed it looks cool, but set screw stripped then seemed to hold tight, but then proceeded to fall in the dirt! The barrel climb shooting is about an inch with this compensator. Probably does help, but want the thing to stay on!!"

"I purchased this for my Ruger 10/22 after some disappointing results at the range. I had been feeling like I was shooting out of a rubber barrel! I purchased this, leary about it falling off as other reviews had stated, and the intent of purchasing a new screw and allen wrench to fit it. No need! Put it on the rifle, without any problems, brought it to the range and what a difference in my groupings! No problems with it even loosening up. Since purchasing, I've used this in steel competition without it having the slightest problem. Maybe they fixed the design with the screw? Either way, definitely a nice way to improve your groupings inexpensively."

"Ordered this on Saturday, it came in today. Didn't want to take any chances and went to get a new set screw but my local hardware store and they didn't have one the right size. They didn't have metric sizes so that might be why. When I put it on my 1022 sure enough the wrench striped the screw. Hopefully the locktight holds. Haven't taken it out yet so we'll see. Although it does look cool now."

"I found the construction to be excellent. However, the allen wrench didn't fit the screw. It always came loose. The company sent me new screws and a wrench. (Very nice on their part)What I did was; enlarge the holes to 8/32, and I drilled two more holes 120 deg. apart. Then I put the barrel in a drill press and used a countersink to put a recess in all three holes- just a bit.Now it works great. A little Blue Loctite (not Red) helps alot."

"I found this item to be good for looks however i had to purchase new screws and an allen wrench to mount it. Yet to test it for reduced recoil effects Overall good item worth the money"

"VERY NICE! EASY INSTALL, LOOKS GOOD. WOULD RECOMEND"

"Great muzzle brake. Noticeable difference when compared to a 10/22 without one. Would recommend purchasing. Although, the set screw is garbage. Suggest getting a replacement at a local hardware store, along with some LocTite. And it looks great."
4.0 5
"After looking at others reviews, I looked right away at the little hex screw to secure the brake. The screw was obviously distorted and not well made. Why they would make a quality muzzle brake and go super cheap on the cheapest part, I have no clue, but if you're willing to go to the hardware store and find another little hex screw, the muzzle break is nice."

"The mounting screw is poorly manufactured"
1.0 5
"It's worthless - what more can one say? Mounting screw was useless. Specs were nowhere near up to par. Can I vote less than one bullet?"
4.0 5
"Quick install. I recommend using lock-tight to secure the screw. It's more for looks than function on a .22"
