"Despite the reviews on this optic, I purchased it anyway after using one. Here's a few things anyone should know after reading the aforementioned reviews.........FYI, I'm not a casual shooter, or weekend shooter, between .308, 6.8 SPC, 5.56, and .45 ACP, I burn threw about 1000-2500 rounds a week, and compete in 3 gun and IDPA events, my guns as well as their optics get used and abused! I'm also a US Army Retired CWO4 as of O5'.I purchased the UTG to replace a Trijicon ACOG that moved to a 6.8 SPC upper. Since it was on a standard CAR15 upper I didn't plan on reaching out past 100 yds with the 11.5\" barrel. With a 4 MOA dot, it's not for reaching out, though that seemed to dissapoint the other posters! Mine after 700 rounds threw it holds perfect 2-3\" goups at 100 yds off hand. This optic DOES NOT lose zero! With 2 set scews on each the elevation and windage turrets, once you find zero and apply the proper torqe, it stays there (even when dropped off a deck...) I can't speak for the other models that don't have the turret locks, but this one has been through a ride on my 384 achers in a front rifle rack on the ATV and has not lost zero, including 40 achers of freshly combined corn field. Rifle and shotgun scopes from Leupold and Nikon at over 3 times the price have not. As far as the complaints about the QD mount, I can only suspect that the people haven't had much experience with QD mounts. They also lock solid and unless you rotate the handles, they retain zero just fine, mine comes off the carbine when it goes in the case, and picks up where it left off. I can only hope CTD gets with UTG and offers this mount cheaper then NcStar can! LOL!All in all this is a perfect optic for any carbine or sub machinegun/sub gun wannabie that you can ask for. And it's far more solid then any Aimpoint at twice the price, with the benefit of 1x mag.My only complaint is that the turret 'gauges' are applied after the turret locks are set. Once you back the turret locks out to ad..."

"This red green dot sight is highly recommended at 50 yards haven't used it at 100 yards. Sighting it in takes some time."

"I actually bought this because of a review on this page. All I can say is if you're going to mount this on a flat top AR-15, the quick detach scope rings should be taller. It is very awkward to look through. But, because I like everything else about the scope, I will break down and buy a set of high rings for it. You will not find a better scope for what you pay."

"This is a great sight for the price. First time using it, you might have to tighten the hex screws on the mount. Out the box, they're a little loose and really loosen up after a few rounds. I sighted in mine in my basement with a laser boresight. Took it to the range the next day and it was very accurate. You won't find a better red/green dot for this price."

"Put it on a M&P15-22. No problems, great fit, and the adjustable dot works great for day to dark room."

"Got this for a AK47 with a side mount.sighted in fast and hold zero even when removing and remounting on the rifle. Does not seam to be effect by recoil. Can not go wrong with this scope for the price"

"I got this scope and was really surprised at what you get for the money. It came with everything you need; even came with 2 batteries and an extra screw if you loose one. Its very well built and works great."

"So far this has been a great scope. The only thing bad (and it isn't really bad) is that I wish it had an option for a tall mount. The mount that comes with it is a bit awkward to sight through. That being said, the actual scope works as well if not better than the Aimpoint I used in Iraq and Afghanistan."

"Very good scope for the money. Sights in fast, green and red dot are clear during peak hrs, little too bright for a low light or ambient light situations, nice light compact design. Only gave 4-star rating because of the need for additional risers if mounted on a flat top ar. Too low of a profile without them. Comes very securely packaged, all allen wrenches included, and an additional screw, should the need arise. Damn good scope."

"Pretty happy with this red dot sight. Would have gave it a five star rating but it wouldn't fit my sons ruger 10/22 with out modifications being made to the guns original rail. Which is a weaver style so with that being said it won't fit all weaver style rails. The sight is pretty solid feeling and seems well made only wish it had other dot options on it other than single dot. But for the money it was a nice buy!"
