"Going in with realistic expectations, I expected to get exactly what I was paying for: a low to mid quality knife for $5. It was meant as a supplemental knife for cutting rope, and since rope-cutting is a great way to ruin an edge, I figured this would fit the bill. It's small and lightweight. The listed dimensions are accurate. The sheath has no liner, so you need to hold it flat in order to insert the knife without it just stabbing through the thin nylon, so the sheath is a little junky. The preliminary grounding failed to go all the way to a point, so the tip is a little blunt, but running it through a coarse then fine sharpener did the trick. If you're realistic and realize that you really DO need to pay for a quality knife and are just looking for a beater, then it's definitely a \"5\", but if you expect this to be the steal of a century, it'll be a \"1.\" Basically: it is what it is. Not a bad buy for $5."

"Forgot to add, blade is stamped \"China\" (opposite side is stamped \"Fury\" with a small logo), since that may be important info for some folks considering purchasing this."

"I bought the big brother to this knife in 2003 and it sat in a box until today. I took it out to torture test it, because I only paid $5 for it. I was suprised, It is a very tough knife. I first started tearing apart an old pallet simulating opening an ammunition crate and the blade did fine. I then started chopping on an old dryer that someone had left on the side of the road and it didn't even nick the blade. I then proceeded to stab and chop ala cold steel video on a 1980 chevy camaro that was left there. I even used it to pry off the straps that hold the gas tank on. The blade didn't bend, break, or even chip off the edge. Not until I started chopping on the hardened hinge on the dryer did I start getting dents in the blade. I then decided it was worthy of a new real 550 cord handle and I re-profiled the blade so I can put a saber grind on it, which will be far more durable than the 4\" hollow grind it originally had on it. It won't ever be used for shaving but it will definitely make a tough emergency knife. Not bad for made in China."

"Hey I bought this knife from a friend of mine, and didn't expexct much. I am currently in Iraq and this knife has been my saving grace. I have put this knife through some much, and it is still going strong. Now all my buddys want this knife, and they don't believe that its only $5. I love this knife so much I am going to order some for my family and friends back home. It is not the best knife in the world, but for me its close."

"Bought it to use camping... its a tuff knife, but the blade does not come sharp... it looks as if it was just cut from a press. with a little grinding the a sharpening stone... you can get a decent edge. but how long will it last.....?"
