"Good ammo at a great price. Can is hard to open though. I had to use the soon to be X's 15 dollar can opener. She wont be opening any tuna but it got my bullets open."
4.0 5
"Bullets come in great condition, in FMJ style. Great for anything you plan to use them for, and a good value for the price. Only instead of the hammer and sickle, your gonna need a hammer and chisel to open up the container they're in. Other than the container, it was a great buy. Thanks CTD."

"I will have to admit, the ammo is great. It's the person shooting, and cleaning the firearm! I use it for very long range target practice, the spam cans are very easy to open(hence spam-can). so I say less complaining, and have fun plinking. CAMPAIGN-1"

"Nice ammo!Shot through railroad base plate at 100 yard with my 91/30 Mosin. It is very powerful, consistent and accurate ammo. One thing Russians know how to make - weapons. Will buy more!"
5.0 5
"these are the finest loads i have ever used in my mosin nagant. these have superior accuracy, they load very smoothly, and i have never had a misfire and i have fired at least 150rds already. i was at the range and was using these, after i was done, i wen back there and looked around where my bullets were hitting and found a bunch of little steel rodes"
4.0 5
"I ordered one can of this ammo about a week before Christmas and when the box showed up(the cardboard box)there was a big hole taped up on the side of it was empty!! I would like to thank CTD for taking care of this unfortunate situation in a timley manner and promptly sending me a new can of ammo. This kind of service will keep me coming back for a long time. And by the way, this is some great ammo!!"

"These are great rounds for shooting in the Mosin Nagant Check or Russian rifles,Alittle slow as far as bullits go but for the Nagant it's perfect.I've shot the Wolf bullits and for the money these Russian Surplus ronds are great ""BUT" clean that rifle right after shooting it because of the acidic powder used in the Russian rounds.Keep on shooting.PS I shot a 3 inch pattern at 800 yards with my old Mosin Nagant at the range with open sights using the old sliding sight"
5.0 5
"i have a nagant that is well put together in a aftermarket stock, piller and glass bedded, the barrel free floated, and the scope mount kit from here. with this ammo i have got consistant 3/4 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yards. this is the best surplus ammo you can find. get you some for your nagant!!! you won't regret it."
4.0 5
"I just bought a can of the mosin nugant 7.62X54r ammo .I haven't opened it yet but it did come with a can opener.. CTD had it delivered fast.. I might save it for future use since ammo is getting to be in short supply."
4.0 5
"very nice ammo for the price. shot 250 rounds through my dragunov, and only had a 2-3 stick. very easy to clean after a day of punching holes in "anything". that's why people say "from russia with love"!"
2.0 5
"i bought 60 rounds of this stuff. first time out put 20 rounds through my mosin nangant 91/30. worked okay slight problem with extraction. 2nd time i used it nothing but problems. accuracy was horrible i couldnt hit a pop bottle at 50 yards. extraction was hell. brass casings were split"
5.0 5
"I bought some of this for my SVT-40, and I have to say it was great stuff! Usually the SVT isn't very fond of wolf or American made 7.62x54R, but this stuff it just chewed up. Highly recommended for SVT owners"
5.0 5
"I have shot 440 rounds of this and am very pleased with this ammo. It shoots very accurate. Had one shell explode out the side when i fired but other than that these are the better bang for the buck over the Russian surplus. I give it an A+"
5.0 5
"Since in my area this ammo is like gold, either you can't find it or it costs a fortune. So last month I bought some of this surplus and I just got around to trying it. I am very impressed with this ammo and it is all I will use in my '43' Mosin Nagant."
5.0 5
"I just want everyone to know.... Cheaper Than Dirt service and speed of shipping is bar none....THE BEST. And Russian 7.62 54r ammo? Been using this round since the 1800's. They KNOW how to make Ammo."
5.0 5
"This ammo is perfict, I've put 120 or so through my carbine (M38) and M91/30 and have had zero failures or lemons. I've sighted in my long rifle for 50 yards and my carbine at 100 with the stuff, both shoot like a laser beam. Nuts to the man who says surplus is garbage! NUTS I SAY!"
5.0 5
"I was very surprised the first couple of times I purchased stuff off of this site. The shipping was on time and very fast. I ordered some of this ammo and it was at my door 3 days later. Great ammo for my M91/30."
5.0 5
"when i bought my mosin and used this ammo it didnt seemed accurate, but i spent 12 bucks on a hopps cleaning kit and spent hours cleaning the bore and the chamber and the next thing i know it improved the accuracy. i encurage every one to invest in atleast one can. and remember to clean your rifle prior to shoothing. pfc matt"
5.0 5
"Great price for the number of rounds. Took it to the range and was accurate as could be when i held it steady. Recommended ammo for Mosin Nagant M91/30. Shot great out of mine (1923)"
4.0 5
"good ammo for the price i bought 2 cans shoots very accurate the muuzle velocity is 2,800 fps and 2,600 fpp very deadly stuff i did have atleast 1 misfire but for the age its still isnt that bad"
4.0 5
"when i bought my mosin nagant i had to take it to a gunsmith because the shells were not ejecting my dad hit the target at 100 yards open sights 3 times so the ammo is very accurate these rounds are very good ones"
4.0 5
"Just got a can yesterday, fires well, air tight container. A lot of powder residue so make sure to clean your gun afterwards."
4.0 5
"This is great ammo it only cost 1$ more than the Hungarian so i figured I'd give it a go. Works great, accurate and easy to clean."
5.0 5
"At this price this was really great ammo, I had one hell of a hard time getting the can to open up and I ended up using an angle grinder to cut the top lid off. I have to say this ammo was so powerful it was punching through 1/2 inch thick metal piping like nothing. I had some trouble getting this ammo to feed correctly in my Mosin Nagant but I think that may have been an issue with my rifle more than the ammo"
4.0 5
"I got a tin and it is airtight and hard to open without the right tool. My friend and I both had trouble getting the first rounds to chamber without assistance. Not sure if it matters but we loaded out of stripper clips. Out of 100 rounds I had one misfire but it then successfully shot out of my friend's mosin nagant. It is very accurate ammo though, we shot milk jugs filled with water at about 200 yards without scopes. Good fun."
4.0 5
"I received my bullets today, The tin can was airtight, the rounds were mint condition. Also the production year for the bullets I got were 1993. Hope they live up to their reviews. (2 M38's, 1 M91/30, 1 M91/59)"

"great buy but it is hard as hell to open the can!"

"CTD has the best price on these cases of ammo, even with the shipping cost. I ordered them on a Saturday and they arrived Friday morning. Note: this is corrosive ammo, clean thoroughly after shooting! I was pleased to see the can came with an opener, which is awkward at first."
5.0 5
"I got 2 cases of this ammo and I very happy. With my SVD rifle it nevrr misfires. Good product, I recomend to get it."
5.0 5
"FAST SHIPPING, GREAT PRICE!!! Thanks a ton CTD."
5.0 5
"I havn't had the chance to shoot any of it yet, but from what I've heard I am excited. Was also very impressed with the speed of delivery, less than 48hr from purchase to door step."
5.0 5
"Arrived in 3 days. The actual cleanliness of the bullet was better than any I've ever purchased. Well packed. WELL sealed. If it shoots as well as it looks, I'll be very happy with this purchase."
5.0 5
"This is a great buy. I actually bought the rifle because it was a proven and sturdy design and the ammo was such a bargain. My can of ammo had a can opener taped to it and was no problem to open the can. The secret is to tilt the can opener in toward the center of can for it to work best. I plan on buying another can."
5.0 5
"I shot 80 rounds with my 1953 M44. It fired excellent without any misfires. This ammo is cheap enough to plink with. We were knocking bottles down at 50yards with no problems. The muzzle flash is visible in broad daylight and just gets better the darker it gets. I'll give this ammo an A+ for quality and price. The only downside is that it took me almost 5 minutes to get into the can with the included can opener, but it's still worth it."
5.0 5
"I bought my Mosin about 2 years ago and was shocked by the price of ammo. At the time I begrudgingly paid $20 for 20 rounds. It fired well, but the price bothered me. So I went to CTD and almost flipped my lid! The price of this ammo is equivalent to .22LR ammo! I bought 2 cases. The cases were pretty hard to open but it was worth the task. The ammo fires terrific and the gun is simple to clean. If you own a Mosin, svd or ... This is an awesome buy."
5.0 5
"I bought this ammo with poor hopes, but when I received my ammo I was shocked that the can was in great condition. The rounds themselves were in superb condition. I shot a 1/2" thick steel target at 250 yards and they went through like it wasnt there. The ammo is the best I have ever fired out of my 91-30 and WILL be buying more soon. If you have a Mosin Nagant this is the best thing since sliced bread."
4.0 5
"When I ordered my tin of ammo it was supposed to come with the can opener but didnt. An angle grinder with a cutting wheel made short work of the lid and didnt harm the ammo in the tin. The rounds were in great condition inside the tin and packed in bundles wrapped in paper. The rounds fired well and are very accurate in my Mosin with a scope mount (also form CTD). The only gripe about the ammo is that after the rifle got quite warm the spent cases were difficult to eject. The case expanded a little inside the hot receiver. The corrosive ammo required immediate cleaning (personal preference) but was easy to clean even after putting about 100 rounds downrange."
5.0 5
"Great for the price will definently get more. Can was a bit of a pain to open but kept the rounds in pristine shape. Fired 100 with no problems at all. I agree my Mosin got pretty hot every 20 rouds but it held a good group at about 200 meters."
4.0 5
"Not what is in the add but it is okay factory 323 manufacture 93 .I would have been happy with 70s 80s manufacture can is blank no writing fires just fine"
4.0 5
"Ok this is my part 1 review I will post another one on how well this shoots, this video is overall how I liked it. Just look for watch for me again name in the next 2-4 weeks when I make it to the range.Ok over all this was GOOD! my first time buying a surplus ammo can from anyone. I must say fast shipping. I got scared when I saw this dent in my can, but when I opened it all was great no ammo dents so far. Mine was 1968 stamped not 70's-80's which is fine by me because ammo last long long long time. I used pliers to open this after I made a punch hole and it worked out even though I had no can opener. A+ thanks ctd I will buy another one in the coming months! Watch for me again2 in 2-4 weeks on a range report. I do not think I will have a problem because so many people been using this ammo for years and its trusted!"
5.0 5
"I shot over 40 rounds and it worked great! This batch seems to be great! Even with a dented can no problems! A++"
5.0 5
"Excellent product at a reasonable price. The prevailing technique I have heard to open one of these cans is to use a grinder or some other motorized power tool but in reality all you need is a metal chisel and a rubber mallet. Just go in from the top along the outside edge."
5.0 5
"I bought two of these one for me and one for a buddy, we've shot over 50 rounds each. They work great!"
4.0 5
"This good quality, the ammo is great my PSL-54C handles these rounds like a champ. Targets at 300 yards no problem. My 91/30 Russian Mosin-Nagant kicks like some one sucker punched me on my shoulder but its a manageable recoil. The ammo is very accurate on both of my rifles, awesome price and great ammo. The only downer is that it is corrosive, so clean YOUR RIFLE. But it's still very good ammo."
4.0 5
"Good deal. This is the best price I have found anywhere. I have used up the whole case with no issues."
4.0 5
"Can you say "Kid on Christams Morning"?.Sent my husband off to work yesterday, sat down on the floor and had a blast just opening the can! We bought a Mosin about two weeks back and a can of ammo when we brought it home. We decided to wait to open the original can until we bought another one. That being said, we had the can opener just in case. Took me about 5 minutes to open the can and another 10 to stop giggling! Since I can handle a 12 gauge with Magnum slugs, I'm not too concerned about recoil. Hey it's not fun unless you leave your shoulder at the range right?!"
4.0 5
"Tin snips will get you in this can in no time. Other than being sooty and non-reloadable, this Russkie ammo works like a charm. Also got 10 stripper clips from CTD, that will work better after they have been used a few times. I recommend this for anyone not to lazy to clean their rifle after shooting. It is slightly corrosive."
4.0 5
"Been through almost 3 of these cans, and only ever had 1 not fire on me. I'm getting 1.5" groups at 100 yards which I don't think is too bad for surplus ammo, especially at this price. If you have an original Mosin stock (metal butt plate), this will leave a mark ;)"
5.0 5
"Performed great... Not bad For surplus 7.62x54R."
5.0 5
"Shooting this ammo, I was able to keep a 2 inch grouping fairly easily with my Mosin Nagant. Always clean your barrel with soap and water first to neutralize the corrosive properties of the primers. The can is a pain, but big deal! the steel projectile is just shy of armor piercing, and flies to the target nicely. You will not be disappointed with this ammo!"
5.0 5
"I ordered late 5-26-10 delivered 11 a.m. 5-29-10. What can i say, I was more excited than my 16 & 18 yr old sons. My order came with a much coveted foot long p-38 looking can opener. Took less than 3 minutes to "pop" the seal and check out the awesome nicely packed sweet 7.62x54 Russian rounds. I have yet to shoot my big gun, but look forward to it soon. The bullets also snapped quite easily in the "clips" i got here too. thanks CTD!!!!!!"
5.0 5
"A very powerful ammo with an excellent value. The price is the perfect combination for my Mosin Nagant. A 7.62x54R bullet is more than affordable for any budget."
5.0 5
"I got lucky because I got the (not included can opener) in my box. though the rounds I got were copper not brass washed. The lot I got is basic copper washed steel core light ball. Mine were sealed at the primer and bullet. I would give a 4 but the can opener was a nice touch. The can looked new with no damage. The Russians' sure know how to be ginger "wit-der-boolits"."
5.0 5
"I love this ammo. It says that it does not include a can opener, but I guess I got lucky since mine came with one. Much safer and easier than cracking it open with a screwdriver and hammer. Ammo does shoot very hot, and you I needed to let my rifle cool a few minutes every 15 rounds or so. Just make sure you clean your weapon after shooting as it is corrosive. A simple way it to use some dish soap, water, and some patches. Clean until your patches come out mostly white. But for the price you can beat this stuff. I already bought another can!"
5.0 5
"Ammo works great, no sticky bolts. I bought both this and the other Hungarian surplus ammo. This ammo worked better, and had no sticky bolts. I hit all targets at 100 yards with no problems. It had plenty of kinetic energy."
5.0 5
"Bought this ammo for my Mosin Nagant. The can is a little hard to get into I used a grinder which sounds dumb I know but if you lightly grind the upper edge not all the way through, you can take a screwdriver and push it through the rest of the way and pop the top off with ease. The ammo was in good condition and was really impressed with the price. I don't care what others say, the price is great go to any any ammuntion store for the proof. A great buy!"
5.0 5
"A great buy. The can had a seal that hadn't leaked at all in 27 years, it hissed when I popped it. Didn't come with an opener, but I just used a chisel to open it. Took 5 minutes. The rounds are perfect and freaking powerful. Sha-Sha."
5.0 5
"I bought some of these a while back, and the ammo has been great so far, feeds through stripper clips perfectly, didn't have any of the rounds fail to fire or get stuck in my rifle, great ammo."
5.0 5
"Can't say anymore than the cliche / pun "good bang for the buck". Almost through my 1st case w/ no misfires. Mine was even shipped with the cool can-opener despite the "can opener not included" disclaimer. Warning... 91/30 barrel becomes untouchable after 10 consecutive rounds."
5.0 5
"2nd case I have bought both have been nothing but perfect. The 2nd one I got a few days ago came with the can opener too. Thanks CTD another great item."
5.0 5
"Just finished my first can of this stuff. Experienced no issues whatsoever with firing from a 91/30 Mosin Nagant. I didn't shoot paper, but the ammo felt very accurate at 100 yards. It doesn't seem to be overly dirty, but as said it has corrosive Berdan primers, so do not put off cleaning your gun after shooting this stuff."
5.0 5
"Good stuff, Barrel is untouchable after a few rounds. Even got the coveted can opener! Also ordering more."
3.0 5
"I have fired 150 rounds through 6 of my Nagants. Average 1 out of 12 does not fire first try. ALL fired on second try. All showed DEEP dimple in primer after first try. Maybe I got a batch (1985) with bad primers. Filthy and corrosive so clean your rifle. Very accurate, and very inexpensive. Recoil much less than with heavier bullet."
5.0 5
"VERY good ammo for the price. Spam can was tough as nails to open, but nothing a hammer and metal chisel couldn't take care of. CAUTION: EDGES OF TOP WILL BE EXTREMELY SHARP ONCE CRACKED OPEN!!! Never had a jam or misfire yet with this ammo, shooting out of an M91-30. Awesome ammo for the price! (It's also good not to have to police the casings either!)"
5.0 5
"My brother and I put all 440 rounds through our M91/30's last Saturday. Spend 5 hours in great warm weather at the range shooting at 50 yards open sights dailing in our "new" toys. Not a single miss-fire, jam or issue of any kind. I will be ordering 2 cans next month for sure. CTD even sent me the can opener that isn't supposed to be included with the single can purchase. Best of all, I got my ammo in 3 days! Thanks CTD, you have a customer for life!"
5.0 5
"I have shot a bunch of this through 4 different Mosin Nagants and have never had a round fail."
5.0 5
"I love CTD! Ordered on a Monday night, got here Wednesday afternoon! Even though I ordered only one can, I still got the can opener. The ammo was sealed (can hissed when I punctured the seal), and shoots amazingly well. Cycles much more smoothly than the lacquer coated Brown Bear stuff, and is much easier on the shoulder. Haven't done a lot of business with CTD, but I am impressed so far, and will most definitely be giving these guys my business again. Just ordered some Sellier and Bellot buckshot, and a mag extension for my Winchester 1300, and cannot wait!"
4.0 5
"This ammo is great for my Nagant 91/30. Dirt cheap and great to fire. Problem is, this box is nearly impossible to open. CTD does NOT give you a can opener for it, and it took me THREE HOURS to open it using hand tools. The can is painted and hammered shut. Other than that, these are pretty good rounds."
3.0 5
"The first can I purchased was in perfect order, however this second can, once opened (which is a pain in the...) had broken shells, gun powder everywhere. At the range I went through about 10 shots before I had to use an extractor. The cans seems to be hit or miss 50/50"
5.0 5
"The can is not hard to open for a proper man. The product inside is perfect. Thanks!"
5.0 5
"This ammo is probably the greatest deal you will find. It's already difficult to find cheap ammo, but this one is a great price! I fired and nailed bullseyes from 100 yards with an M44. Quality ammo. The only downside is cleaning the gun after you're done at the range (Be sure to do some research on the different cleaning techniques folks use to clean this, your average Hopps is probably not going to be enough.) But I'll trade manual labor anytime for ammo as cheap as this."
5.0 5
"I am a first time buyer from CTD and I am totally stoked with this purchase! It showed up at my door the very next day! Thanks, CTD!"
5.0 5
"I got my order in two days. The package was in good shape. I opened the can with hand tools in 5 minutes. I only shot 20 rounds, but all fired. I'm happy."
5.0 5
"This is an excellent bargain! I've shot through my first box in no time flat, and am ordering two more. Hoping CTD puts on a special with two spam cans in a wooden box that they had recently. No misfires and I got the opener, too!"
5.0 5
"Very good purchase. The can had a few dings on it, but the contents were in perfect shape. The can is easy enough to open with a hammer and screwdriver, or an old chisel. I plan to buy more of these in the future."
4.0 5
"Man, I am excited about this! For the price, you really can't go wrong to feed that old surplus rifle! I just got mine, and spent probably 1/2 and hour opening it up with a broken screwdriver and a hammer. Way too easy! Nice contents. Some ammo was covered in what seemed to be Vaseline, but all was good. It chambered and ejected without a hitch. Now all I have to do is shoot it! I suggest getting a Broken Shell Extractor first, as some surplus ammo might break off in the chamber. Better safe than stuck on the range with a locked up rifle!"
5.0 5
"This is the cheapest ammo I can find around. It came just as they said it would, in a big spam can. Mine did come with a can opener, though. This ammo is great. It's not to dirty, but it is corrosive, so clean your gun after shooting. Overall, it is the best 7.62x54R I can find around. (and watch out for the paint on the can im pretty sure its lead paint)"
4.0 5
"I bought a can of this several months ago and Ive gone through half of it already. I haven't had a single problem with it in my M91/30. The only downside is the corrosive powder, so you should clean your rifle regularly."
5.0 5
"I ordered a can of this stuff the day before yesterday and it came in today! Crazy fast shipping. Opened the can with a hammer and screwdriver in about ten min, not too tough at all. Great Stuff for the price!"
4.0 5
"Not sure why people cry about spending a few minutes opening a can. Maybe you should trade in your guns for some knitting needles. It did take me about 10 minutes to open the can, but oh, the things I thought about destroying while opening up my spam can. These rounds are fantastic. Great deal for the money. Already put over a hundred down the tube of my M91. I love it."
5.0 5
"Shot 60 of these bad boys through my mosin. No issues at all what so ever.Dont doubt this product if you are thinking about getting it! Its great!"
5.0 5
"Just got it in mail today, haven't shot it yet and the can looked great plus it was sure fun to open."
5.0 5
"This ammo is great stuff, very accurate. Only problem I had was one case split after I shot it but no problems extracting."
5.0 5
"I've run nearly 1000 rounds of this stuff through my 91/30. Not a single problem. Great round, just be sure to clean your gun with some kind of water based cleaner afterwards, and then go back and clean the gun again the way you normally would."
5.0 5
"This Ammo is great I have gone though 3 of these cans and have yet to have trouble as far as I can remember there might have been 2 misfires total! I will say when ordering this spend the extra 9 bucks and throw the can opener in with it, yeah you can do it without it and it may make you more of a man but it still is annoying and as dad always says use the right tool for the job."
5.0 5
"Finally got to take my 91/30 to the range today along with some of this ammo, and things went without a hitch. Recoil was actually less-than I expected and the ammo (plus rifle) were fairly accurate for a novice like myself. After returning home I found the barrel was very dirty, but nothing Hoppes #9 and some elbow grease can't solve."
5.0 5
"Wow, this got here fast and came with the opener. It was easy to open and the ammo looks great, very good deal."
5.0 5
"The corrosive nature of this ammo is a small price to pay for how many rounds you get at this price. I've plugged through about 75 of them so far and haven't had any bad ones. Great deal."
5.0 5
"This ammo is the deal of the century. Plain and simple. crazy cheap, accurate, no misfires, what more could you ask for? Other than a can opener :-P"
5.0 5
"Oh man, how awesome is this? I ordered this product Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered at 8:30 am Thursday morning. Me and a buddy went in halves on this and I immediately awoke, drove to his house and we opened her up. The 'pfssss' noise as the air escapes was almost magical. I think I'll order another can just to hear it again..."
5.0 5
"This ammo kicks butt! I shot through 2 1930s Ford trucks with 1 round. No miss fires at all with the PKM. I love this stuff so I got 4 cans and I got a can opener. oh ya."
5.0 5
"Nice easy open can (not) took 100 rounds with me to the range, 100 yard hits all day long went to the 500 yard target with in 3 rounds I had the target zeroed in with this ammo. I was shooting a 1934 Mosin Nagant 91/30 with open iron sites, this one has the hex barrel (ex-sniper?) the ammo is spot on, I will buy more on pay day."
3.0 5
"Member ship at range: $2501934 Mosin Nagant: $110440 rounds of 7.62x54r: $94Opening a sealed can of ammo with no opener: PricelessThis was hard as heck to open, took me about an hour to figure it out, wedge and a hammer. no regular can opener will fit. opening this WILL make you a man, so that deducts a star/bullet. Also, they are magnetized, so you probably wont be able to shoot that at an indoor range. it might get 4 stars/bullets after i shoot it. If it stays sealed, it will last a life time, so its good for the Zombie infestation, as long as you can open it in time."
5.0 5
"Service was great, ordered on a Saturday, was on my porch Wednesday. Can was a pain to open, but that is the price of good protection. ammo shoots great in my M-44. Am going to order a second can, and leave it sealed for the zombie infestation. Great stuff, great service, fair price, win-win-win!!! 8-)"

"Great deal. This ammo shot excellent groups through my Mosin 91/30. I was pleasently suprised with this ammo. A little on the dirty side but absolutely worth the great price. Two thumbs up!"

"Just received the package today, CTD was good enough to give me the can opener as well!!! Thanks!! Opened it, looked v v pristine inside. Packed in 20rd paper bundles. Gave it 4bullets coz I haven't taken it out to shoot yet! Thanks CTD! :)"

"These are great. The only issue I had was when I shot these the bolt would get stiff, when I shot the more expensive stuff, no problem. All in all, what other high powered rifle can you shoot for this cheap."

"I bought two of these spam cans, and received them within 3 days of my order. As usual, CTD delivers on timely shipping! As for the ammo itself, as you should know, it comes packaged in these Warsaw Pact "spam cans" that require a tool to open. A tool was included in my order, not sure if this applies to everyone, so be prepared! Really though, for anyone complaining about opening these, I think you're missing out on part of the whole experience! If you have a Mosin Nagant rifle, its kind of cool to experience what a Soviet or Warsaw Pact soldier had to go through to get to his ammo. Regardless, a few minutes with the can opener and the ammo was revealed. Its all paper wrapped into neat little 20 round bundles, and the shells I examined were in perfect shape, with copper washed steel cases. They're all shiny, no corrosion, and look like they rolled off the factory line yesterday. As far as shooting them, the few I fired off worked great and hit the target. I'm not a great shot, so I can't comment on technicalities of how well they'll perform for long range accuracy. The big downside of this ammo is that its CORROSIVE. This means you need to CLEAN YOUR GUN immediately after firing. Really though, I clean my guns when I get back from the range, and if you appreciate your investment, so should you. All in all, great stuff, and a real steal for the price."

"I ordered on Sunday, got it on Thursday. From Texas to California this is quick. Got the can open, took muscles and elbow grease yeah, but the ammunition is gorgeous. Very good stuff. Shot it through both my M91/30, and my M38 the other day, and it did great. Don't bother buying it at your local gun shop, as they likely bought theirs here as well. The price can't be beat. Seriously, it can't."

"Got a can for my 91/30's and I've shot about half of it on a few different occassions. It's accurate and totally reliable. I have had zero malfunctions. Comming in around 22 cents a shot makes this unbeatable!"

"Great ammo for the money and it was at my door step in just 3 days, great deal!"
5.0 5
"This is awesome. 440 bullets for less than 100 bucks!? I got mine in the timeframe, cracked it open with the can opener and had at it. Bullets are packed in paper in even packages and look immaculate. Grabbed 2 of them loaded up the mosin and fired both of them no problem. They even rack nicer than the new rounds. NO STIFF BOLT!!! Happy and will buy again."

"Ordered this stuff on Monday, arrived today (Wednesday) via FedEx. The shipping box had gotten wet and had a hole in it. FedEx driver stayed here while we verified that everything was there, CTD packed it so that no matter what, it would be! CTD and FedEx, a combo. you can't beat! The can opener was included. Gonna make some noise at the range this weekend for sure! Thanks all.Dewey B.Diamond B GunsmithingSalina Kansas."

"My wife ordered a can of this ammo and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. I went with my son this morning to the range and shooting this 7.62 x 54 ammo is alot of fun. I don't think you can beat the price for the quality. I will be ordering another spam can of this. I would recommend this to anyone!!!"

"Finally got to shoot this, and I'm very happy. Very accurate for bulk stuff. Also puts off some awesome fireballs out of my M38 Carbine. This stuff packs a hellova punch. Will buy more. Thanks CTD!"

"This is my second can I've bought from CTD. First thing. My first can was not Romanian, it was Russian. Stamped 188/77 on the bullet case...LOVED the stuff. Second can is Romanian..Factory #22 1982...Good stuff. Neither were Silver tipped. Not one misfire or hangfire so far, no random flyers. No feed or extracting problems. NO CAN OPENER but I used the one that came with my Tulammo 7.62x39mm can...works great. I fired ~120rds of the Romanian ammo and decided to re-seal the rest in some boxes for storage (just in case) Gun is a 1939 Tula M91, well modified and shortened to 20" barrel. Plenty of firepower (no pun intended)"

"Ordered 440 rnds on the morning of the 21st and received my shippment on the 22nd. Service is second to none. You guys could teach the others how to do it right. very satisfied with the product! CLEANThanks guys!"

"My first impression when I received the can was "oh great, no opener." After opening it with a hammer and a chisel, I no longer cared. I've put around 200 rounds of this through my 91/30 with no misfires. The only thing is that the bullet pictured is not what they look like: they are copper washed steel cased. Also, no silver tip as described. I don't discredit CTD, though. They probably get all kinds of different ammo in cans like this, hard to tell the difference. 5 for the ammo itself, 4 for having to open with a chisel, and I'll round it up to 5."
4.0 5
"I bought 2 the first time, had to order a can opener (you can open them in less then a couple minutes, worth buying). the second time, I ordered 1 and it came with it's own can opener. guess sometimes you get lucky. opened one can, everything looked good, nice packaging, but I haven't fired any of these rounds yet. mostly bought these to store for some time. you know for when the zombies attack"

"I seen all the reviews for this and I had to get a can.I orderd it Sunday got it morning of Thursday. I Opend my can and looked at the ammo it all looked brand NEW, I was impresed. I put about 80 rounds through my 91/30 with no problems. This ammo was made for the Rifle. I love this stuff and the price is RIGHT. Make sure you take your bolt all the way apart when you clean it that will help get rid of any stiky bold syndrome. I will be ordering more and I WILL GET A CAN OPENER. LOL"
5.0 5
"Shipped quickly. It didn't come with a can opener, but I got it open easily after watching a video online. It fired straight at 100 yards. Remember to clean your gun after using it. Check your range ammo restrictions before buying."
4.0 5
"The can can be opened in less than a minute with a 7" hand grinder. Just grind the top off of the crimp. That is also how to open a 50 lb can of welding rod. Throw the stupid can opener away before you hurt yourself. Capt. Wiley"

"Cheaper than dirt has the fastest shipping. When I order, about 24 hours later it arrives.I just wanted to say that if your order of this ammo doesn't have a can opener, you can get one from Copes Distributing online, for under $6. I still had my opener from another order, so I used it. This did have one with it. Looking forward to taking the ammo to the range. Just waiting for my rifle."
5.0 5
"Amazing ammunition and even better price. Great for sighting in and even good enough for hunting. Extremely accurate and hard hitting. Definitely going to buy dozens more and stock up for future fun at the range."
5.0 5
"I took some of this ammo to the range today, and it works just fine. Even though it is mildly corrosive, clean up is pretty easy. Take a few patches soaked in Windex through the chamber and bore, then use your usual cleaning product. No FTFs, or FTEs. Worked like a charm. Buy with confidence, because you can't beat this price!"
5.0 5
"My spam can came with a can opener, although it arrived in a separate shipment. Good value, fast shipping from CTD as usual."
5.0 5
"I placed my order for this over the weekend, received it on Thursday, CTD shipping was super fast, and I live in the very most southern tip of Florida. These rounds are awesome although corrosive, they are great, you should be cleaning your weapon after using it anyway, THANKS CTD, Will order AGAIN!!"

"These puppies hit harder than any bulk x54Rs I've ever shot."
5.0 5
"At first, the shells weren't feeding into my rifle at all, were staying in the magazine, or were ejecting, I'm thinking "these blow" but upon disassembling the rifle that night, I found my ejector stud plate was hung up and not protruding enough. Haven't gotten a chance to shoot again yet, but I'm sure the ammo is great. When I was doing single shots, it was extremely accurate. Have a hose on standby, because every box (comes subdivided in 25 round boxes) makes the gun really hot (or maybe my gun's barrel is ever so minutely smaller than most). Spray some water down the barrel and let it flow out for about 20 seconds and cools it. Also serves as a cleaning aid by removing the primer salts."
5.0 5
"Great price on the rounds. Can't beat it but would love an easier way to open it. I don't have a can opener that big and don't feel comfortable taking a grinder to it. Thanks CTD"
5.0 5
"Pretty good ammo for the price. Just make sure you clean the gun right afterwards, as this stuff is corrosive. To the guy that sprays water down the barrel: that is a horrible idea. You will start to corrode the barrel. Also, you are thermal shocking the barrel. Neither is good."
5.0 5
"Nothing but good things to say about it. Shot about 200 in my Mosin Nagant and no complaints."
3.0 5
"This is great ammo! I love it!"
5.0 5
"Bought some of these a few years ago and have loved them ever since. Ammo is fairly clean for what it is, is and extremely accurate. Out of the 440 rounds I've shot, I have never had a single FTF."
5.0 5
"Great deal. Cheap ammo cost. Came with can opener."
5.0 5
"70 year old Mosin Nagant, not much money. 40 year old surplus ammo, cheaper. 50 year old shooter, cheap. Target down at 200 yards every time, priceless. Sure would like to know where to get a can opener though, because the super duty can is nearly invincible."
5.0 5
"Great ammo. I only fired about 40 rounds, but so far every round functioned flawlessly. It's corrosive, but actually fairly clean. My rifle had very little carbon residue."
5.0 5
"This ammo is great! A little extra caution should be used in cleaning, as it's corrosive, but very decent performance. This surplus, out-grouped Brown Bear 203gr out of my 91/30, and shoots cleaner. Will be buying again."
5.0 5
"Got it today and went shooting. Sadly, the can I got wasn't silver tip, though I only like it because it looks better. I think the case I got was made hot, I pulled bullets from four random paper backs and measured the powder inside and it came out to be 210-215 grain. Not complaining or anything, just surprised me on the increase in kickback when compared against my old ammo."
5.0 5
"This ammo is great - a little dirty, but dead on target at 300 yds. My M44 Mosin eats this stuff up. Thanks, CTD. Will be ordering more soon."
5.0 5
"I, too, had issues with opening these heavy cans but found that a belt sander with 80 grit will grind the edge of the can and makes quick work of opening these cans. Try it out. You just need to watch the sparks. Hint: just sand outwards from the center of the can."
5.0 5
"Damn good ammunition, not a single feeding problem, no bad rounds, and very fast and accurate. The only thing that sucks is the extra attention you need to pay with the barrel when cleaning"
5.0 5
"For the money, this the best value for your Mosin Nagant. Just be diligent with properly cleaning your rifle and you'll have a good time."
5.0 5
"Luckily I got the silver-tips, that Bulgarian air smells great too. Ordered 1 can and got the opener, what a surprise! Will order more as the stockpiles of these things are dwindling."

"Just as pictured and shipped the day I ordered them and arrived the next day with ground shipping (live in Dallas)"
5.0 5
"The shipping was quick. Shot this with my Mosin Nagant 28/30. Was quite surprised with the accuracy of this ammo, was hitting my targets from 400 yards open sights. Just got to clean it right away."
5.0 5
"Stop shopping! Came with can opener!! Easy to open with any hand opener(no knobs or wheels). Shot one 20 round subpack, no problems or malfunctions. Grade A+ military ammo. Vacuum sealed can hissed when opened."
5.0 5
"Love this ammo! I have put several rounds of this stuff through my Mosin Nagant M44, no FTF, no FTE, no issues at all. Very hard hitting, decent accuracy. Yeah it's corrosive, CLEAN YOUR WEAPON. You should be doing that anyway. Run some patches through soaked with Hoppes #9, run dry patches through to finish, and you're good to go. I will buy this again."
5.0 5
"Very happy with this ammo. Priced very reasonably, lucky I had a can opener already. Make sure you clean your gun after shooting this within an hour. I will be buying this again."
5.0 5
"Showed up just a few days after I ordered it and came with a can opener, which surprised me. The ammo can itself is much smaller than I thought it would be, making it really easy to stack these up and store them away. Ammo performs fine, no flaws, I like using this better than the Wolf stuff."
4.0 5
"I ordered these, did not receive any notifications or shipping updates until the scheduled day of delivery. I've read many reviews prior to purchasing stating that this came with a military grade can opener to help with opening this can however, mine unfortunately did not. None the less, I got the can open and fired 20 rounds with no FTE FTF, I cleaned it out as soon as I got home and absolutely love this ammo for the price. It does seem as though the charges in each round are individually off by a little bit but something I can live with as I'm not using it to hunt with."
5.0 5
"Ordered on Monday, received it on Tuesday, super service and good ammo, just be sure and clean your weapon, which you should do anyway"
5.0 5
"Shoot great! I got it within 5 days, opened it up, and went right to work. I have to say, in today's market, you cannot beat the price. Thank you CTD!"

"I was more that sure the add said Lead Core, I even checked it twice to make sure. I can still use it, but not what I wanted."
5.0 5
"Good ammo ships fast only thing I am told about this surplus ammo is to clean then clean a few days later then clean again will corrode your gun"
5.0 5
"Quick delivery, the right product, and it even came with a can opener which I wasn't expecting having ordered a single can. All in all I recommend purchasing, I know I will be making future purchases with CTD."
4.0 5
"Have not opened the can since it was bought with the intention of leaving it sealed until I needed it. But I did notice that upon arrival, the can was deformed, like it had something dropped on the top of it. Hope it doesn't effect the contents."
4.0 5
"Mine came within a week, and included the can opener. It was a little corrosive, but not bad. If you clean your gun after every use, it won't make a difference. I will buy this ammo again."
5.0 5
"As CTD says, 3 to 5 days shipping and sure enough 3 days later I got my ammunition. Can't say thanks enough for this CTD. I'll be back next pay check and pick up some more. Spam Can was in mint condition and has been put away for storage for later use. Although I didn't get a can opener for the spam can, I didn't expect one with only a single can purchase. Aside from that this ammo was within my price range and purchasing was quick and simple. The way I like to do transactions. Packaging was superb. Sent me a catalog at my request with the order. Gave me a $50.00 discount card for purchasing a case of wine. And a sticker for the side of my computer case. Thanks again CTD!! 5 Bullets for sure!!!"

"No FTF or FTE. we put 200 rounds down range yesterday preformed excellently. We will be back for more next payday. Now to put a forward mounted scope on the Nagant like the Ruger scout"

"I purchased this on a Tuesday and it arrived at my house Wednesday afternoon!!!! Thanks CTD! I will be back for more!"

"Ammo was sent in a timely manner and had no defects. I shot about 20 rounds after receiving the case and had no defects. Highly recommend!"

"I'm a state away from the shipping warehouse and recieved the package the next day, very impressed with CTD order processing. Ammo is as described and can was in great shape, already ran through 120 rnds and gonna pick up a couple more cans when wife allows. Also got a can opener tossed in. Great vendor and product"
5.0 5
"Can't believe how great this ammo is! Very inexpensive! I love the can it comes in and all the history behind the Mosin Nagant rifle. Thanks CTD"
4.0 5
"I received my ammo very fast which is a plus, But it looked like my ammo can got dropkicked and/or dropped from 10ft up. In fact the individual packages were damaged a bit and torn but the ammo is in good shape with no FTF or FTE. I received a can opener with purchase of a single can. Hopefully my next package is handled with more care."
5.0 5
"I only purchased one can of this ammo, but now i regret not buying more. I was skeptical of buying corrosive ammo at first, but its very easy to clean. No FTF or FTE. Very satisfied with this ammo."
5.0 5
"Very impressed with the speed of delivery. Ammo arrived in 3 working days. I was concerned about how I was going to open the can, as a normal can opener doesn't work. Leave it to CTD, someone included a can opener in the box. Ammo shot great, no FTE of FTF after about 30 rounds. Will definitely be getting more."

"This is my first purchase of the "spam can" of ammo and will not be the last. Once I got it open, it was exactly what i expected. Be prepared to work for your reward but for the price, it is worth it."

"Bought this ammo for a Mosin Nagant, every round was perfect, no rejected rounds at all, will buy more."

"Had a little problem with UPS and the shipment but Cheaper Than Dirt was Johnny on the spot and they got me the ammo promptly."

"Needless to say, I was stunned by the expedient delivery of this product the very next day. Even came with an opener. All 440 rounds were still there and comes with prepackaged Russian air inside...didn't smell so great. All in all, perfect buy, great price, speedy delivery."
5.0 5
"Brought my Mosin to the dessert last weekend and shot about 50 rounds. No misfires and got 3" groups at 50 yards with the iron sights. I paid .25 per round. Almost as cheap as shooting .22LR! This is my first purchase, and I will definitely buy more. Note - this did not come with a can opener. I used a small wood chisel and hammer and had the can open in 5 minutes. Be careful that if you do this you stay near the edge of the can!"
5.0 5
"Great ammo. Super fast shipping."
4.0 5
"Two cans and an opener. All good and as expected. In these days of ammo shortages, it's good to have plenty available to feed the Mosin."

"Ammo arrived quickly, box was in bad shape but the can of ammo was fine. Received can opener with the ammo. Fired about 60 rounds with no misfires. Looking forward to having more fun at the range"

"I order this spam can at 8pm (eastern time) and it shipped at 9pm easter time (and I do mean pm) arrived to my house from Texas 3 days later, the can was in great condition and the ammo was dated 1989 so it's the newest 54R I've come across."
5.0 5
"I ordered this ammo for my Mosin and received it very quickly! Packaging was in perfect condition along with the spam can. No defects what so ever. The description also says can opener not included however someone must have put one in there to ensure customer satisfaction. Excellent over all rating and I would highly recommend this to anyone needing this ammo. Be aware though this ammo is highly corrosive so clean your rifles."
5.0 5
"Very satisfied with the product I bought"

"Got 3 cans. All 3 are 1989 production from factory #60. The cans seem brand new. I only opened 1 of them, but the ammo inside is perfect. Feeds good, shoots good, burns clean. Even got a can opener. Should have ordered a couple more."
2.0 5
"I am rating this two bullets because I have been trying to figure out HOW to open the spam cans since no can opener came with the order of TWO cans I bought. Otherwise, I have a 1929 Mosin that LOVES surplus ammo over the newer 7.62x54r that is out there."
4.0 5
"Received with a large order from CTD, it took about the usual 4 days from TX to OH. The can was in excellent condition, and came with an opener. I had it open in less than 3 minutes. They are packaged in individual paper boxes that were packed into it very well. the rounds look good. A little dirty-ish feeling. Haven't fired any yet. Thanks again CTD!"
4.0 5
"First time buying this ammo & I cannot complain about the quality, every bullet did exactly what it was designed to do at the range. My only complaint was the difficulty in opening the can .... It's a chore. If you're looking for a sealed can to keep forever, this may well be it. Took roughly 30 minutes to get it open. No damage to any of the contents. I will buy again."
5.0 5
"I received it in a timely manner. Ammo can was clean and in very good condition. Ammo was clean and also in very good condition. Shot well from both my Russian and Chinese Mosin's. I will buy again."
5.0 5
"Ordered on Tuesday night, received it Thursday afternoon. Less than 48hr turnaround to my door! Haven't tested in my Nagant yet, but I was able to open with the opener they included and visually inspect ammo appears to be in good order. Shipping was discreet (I was worried something was going to show up 'Explosives' and Russian written all over it - it came in a plain brown box.) An opener was included even though it said they weren't included. This was by far the best price I could find with shipping and even throwing in TX sales tax."
5.0 5
"Fast delivery even in the bad weather we had here in the south. Ammo great looking can't wait to try it in my Mosin. Ordered to cans and got a can opener with them, which I was not expecting, thanks for that item. Will order again in the future........big Thanks again."
5.0 5
"Ordered two cans at a great price (at least now days). Order arrived right on time even with major snow storm going on. Even received a can opener with the order although the description said no can opener provided. Only downside was shipping costs seemed a little high, but total was still cheaper than all other reputable sites. Will be using this site again in the future."
5.0 5
"Ordered it on 2/12/14 and received it on 2/14/14; what more could you ask for? I have not opened it yet, so I am not sure if it is the newer stuff or not. Either way its the CHEAPEST I have found. Enjoy!"

"Shipping was extremely fast. I was a bit worried about how to open the single 440 round spam can without a can opener however, to my surprise, Cheaper Than Dirt shipped one with my single can order. The price was twenty dollars cheaper than any local dealers even after shipping. I will be doing more business with CTD for future purchases."

"Can't beat the price and nostalgia"

"Fast shipping. Ammo does as advertised and shoots very good. Lot of fun with large report. Cleaning after shooting no big deal. Will buy again."
5.0 5
"For what I paid for it, I couldn't ask for much more. It got shipped pretty quick and shot just fine. Of course you have the corrosive residue to worry about, but it only takes a few minutes to clean off. For the price, you can't beat it. Just be careful opening this mother! I (carefully) used a screwdriver and hammer."
5.0 5
"very happy with this ammo. can not beat the price. putting holes through 1/8 steel plates at 210 yards. Will be purchasing more when it's available..."
5.0 5
"I was very pleased with this ammo not only in price but performance no split casings no miss fires. I am going to buy more, but I have to finish one of the 2 cans I already bought. Love the ammo thanks Cheaper Than Dirt. You guys blew everyone out of the water on pricing for this ammo."
4.0 5
"I ordered 1 can of Russian surplus, and got bulgarian. Since it was cheap, it is no big deal. It arrived in about 4 days after ordering. Been shooting it ever since. =D"
5.0 5
"I purchased this ammo specifically to fire through a Mosin Nagant I just bought. I just fired 100 of the 440 rounds through this old 1939 WWII surplus rifle with absolutely no issues. I know the ammo is corrosive, but I clean my guns right after firing them anyway so in my case, there is no problem with that. The shipping can be hefty though the price per round is often worth that added cost. The can is a pain to get open as it does not come with the opener. A flat blade screw driver and a hammer will suffice. I plan on using this rifle and ammo combination to do some deer hunting next season and I am confident the ammo will fire as needed."
5.0 5
"Not only did the Ammo get to me a day after I ordered it, It is also really good shooting Ammo, I'm very pleased with both the product and the shipping. Cheaper Than Dirt, Did me Right..."

"OK I've read some reviews from shooters of the 7.62x54R Russian ammo.Wow I'm starting to wonder if there's any common sense left out there. First off I've shot over 13,200 rounds of the 54R in the past few years and I had only ONE hang fire. Well I cleaned the bolt and firing pin and shot that round and 1000's more. I own over 20 Mosin Nagants in every flavor and they all shoot without any issues. So it looks like some folks out there need to learn how to clean their rifles and set the firing pin. Now as far as opening the spam can, one guy said it took an hour to fight out how to do it. OK throw the opener away and get a good stiff butcher knife and a hammer and just drive it intop the cans lip and work your way around the lip hitting the knife with the hammer. Opens the can in less than 4 minutes and there's a CLEAN lip on the can that won't cut you and you also have a great storage can...remember I have over 30 clean lipped cans. Common sense guys not bashing a product cause you don't use you noggin !"

"I got three cans of the 7.62x54r Shot it thru my Mosin nugats Had no trouble at all. shot fine @ 150 yards about a three inch pattern. Will buy more. Thanks CTD"

"I just got my tin dropped off by UPS! I ordered it on Sunday night and it's already here. No damage anywhere! Can't wait to open it up and see how the rounds are doing after so many years. I'm ready to order another tin when it's back in stock! Great Job to the staff of Cheaper Than Dirt!!!"

"Just received one case of this ammo today and was surprised that I got a can opener with it when the description clearly states it does not ship with one. Saved me a whole lot of trouble to find a way to open the dang thing (hence the 4 bullets) CTD must've been feeling generous or something. Inspected the bullets and they all look fine, no silver tip and a production date of 1980. Haven't shot them yet so I might make another review after I take some out to the range. Thanks for the fast shipping especially during Easter weekend."

"Ordered my 440 Round can on Saturday. It arrived by the time I came home from work on Wednesday. I cant really say much that hasn't already been said. Great Price, Kind of a pain to open without the opener but my no means impossible. 440 Rounds of 7.62 x 54R for under $90 (plus delivery)- cant go wrong. I cant believe that its out of stock already. I wonder how long it will be before I can buy more?"

"Bought my first Can a while back an have been shooting it since... Bought 2 more cans and if you seriously are having problems opening the Can idk what tool your using the one it comes with works great and is easy... unless I'm just a genius and know how to use one or a sharp buck knife works just as well.5 bullets only for the best and cheapest and it only takes 2 days to get to me which I love.if you aren't able to hit anything that would be you not the gun... unless broke your gun which is still you. Yes alot of the older mosins have bad extractors... just buy a new bolt or get over it... learn to pull faster and maybe there would be a problem...again love the ammo, great long range shooting especially when you have access to 110 acres and are allowed to shoot at free will.Ammo is corrosive... therefore clean your gun after your done shooting for the day easy as that. takes no time at all literally 15 - 20 minutes.REALLY ENJOY SHOOTING THIS STUFF! cheers!"

"Bought two tins and rec'd the can opener with my purchase. I can see why you would want one. Arrived (heavy) and I opened one. Contents in good order. Shot 100 rounds without any problems. Nice ammo @ a great price. I hope to buy more."

"So I bought two cans one came with an opener .. both cans were from the 80s. Cans came one time. Both cans had rust on them. I opened one of them everything inside was good and still sealed 100%. Haven't shot any of it . I will soon and I will be back to let every one now how it shoots. Other than that . I recommend to any one to buy this it's a good deal .. thank you cheaper than dirt."

"Damn good bullets for my mosin nagant. I got fmjbt and there very accurate and clean for being so old. Just clean your gun very good when your done shooting, because there corrosive. Would definitely buy it again!!"

"I ordered 2 cans. One came dented or looked like it had been dropped during shipping. Cheaper than Dirt Made things right and made me a customer for life.. Customer service rep was so helpful and fixed the problem ASAP... Have not used the ammo yet but always has worked fine for me in the past.."

"Can had a little rust, but the ammo was packaged perfectly. Bundles of 20, and there was cardboard surrounding the inside of the can to protect ammo. They also gave me an opener even though I only purchased 1 can. The opener made it a breeze to open. Will have to clean rifle right after use, but no problem, I do that anyway. It was worth the hassle for the savings over new ammo."

"The Good: -Super cheap Mosin Ammo. -Shoots fine -Comes in air tight spam can for long storageThe Bad: -corrosive (your gun will rust if not cleaned) -Cant use at most gun ranges due to the bimetal bullet -Spam can is kinda hard to get into (I use a grinder)"

"Good points: It's consistent, it's usually pretty clean since it's sealed storage, it's cheap, I've never had a failure to fire, and it's penetration is awesome.Expected negative: Clean Clean Clean after using due to corrosive anything. It's not hard, but you can't just patch the barrel a couple times and call it good. Get ALL the residue out the day you shoot it.Unexpected negative: Make sure you get an issue can opener for this stuff if you've never ordered it before. It can be opened without but I don't recommend it.I've fired tons of this and always come away happy."

"Received the 3 cans in three days, one was damaged so I decided to open it to check the contents. A can opener would have been nice. The rounds within were fine. Now I need an ammo box. Rated 4 bullets because of the damaged case and the lack of a can opener. I now also want stripper clips. Since I bought one case for my son as well as a Moisin Nagant for both of us."

"Ordered 2 spam cans. Haven't shot any yet but ordered late Wednesday and arrived Friday. The ad says opener not included but my order came with one. Maybe because I ordered 2. It did not come in the wooden crate though which is disappointing. One can was slightly dented on the side and top but ammo appears to be fine. 4 bullets for now. Will re-evaluate after some range time."

"I purchased a can of 7.62.54R some time a go for my Mosin Nagant Tula 1938 and immediately wanted to buy another can. But the stock would come and go then I heard in the news the Government talking about the Steel Core Ammo. So I jumped on the site and ordered another can just to be safe and it came in yesterday. Its the best price you cant find them anywhere lease you will spend double the price or higher in Gun Shop and Surplus Stores. I have my Mosin set up like a Russian Sniper Rifle and take some good long distance shots with it on the Power Line road at Steel Targets and do pretty well. I do get some rounds that have a mind of their own and will drift left or right of the steel target. But for the price Im happy they are NOT the MATCH ammo I want to buy in the near future to try."

"The stuff is not bad for the price. The can was a bit tedious to get open even with the provided opener, but what do you expect. I did have a bit of difficulty with the stripper clips, but I think that on them not the ammo."

"I bought two of these spam cans and have thus far fired about 60 rounds through my 1943 mosin with zero misfires. It's perfect. It's dirty ammo but you're supposed to clean after shooting anyway, right? My only complaint is that the shipping is flippin steep."

"Bought an opener before buy the ammo. Took a minute or two the open the can. Went to the range without any intention of shooting this ammo. Started with TulAmmo coated ammo. Poor showing with both feeding, ejection, and performance. Reached for my spam can ammo, loaded my stripper clips, fed my Mosin and fired 20 rounds. No feed problems, no eject problems, and finally was hitting the bull at 50 and 100 yards. I'm ordering another spam can. I clean my weapon after shooting anyhow. Doesn't everyone?"
5.0 5
"Though the spam can does not come with a can opener, it is very easy to open with a little ingenuity. Get yourself a sharp pocket knife. At least 4 inches long, not a tiny little pot sticker. Get a rubber mallet. Start at one corner and drive the knife into the spam can right next to the edge. Once it's penetrated the metal, tap the back end of the knife with the rubber mallet. Use enough force to move the knife, but not so much that you rocket the thing across the room. Using this method, I was able to get the can open in about 10 minutes. Yes, the ammo is corrosive, just make sure you clean the Mosin really well after each trip to the range and you won't have any issues."

"I just got my ammo today, I haven't shot it yet. But so far it's a 5-star rating because all of the ammo looks brand new with no signs of age. And CTD hooked me up with a can opener, although the description says it doesn't come with one."

"I would like to say that there is nothing that comes close for the money. We own 3 Mosin Nagant's and a VEPR rifle chambered in 54r. I haven't shot my Ruger 10/22 in years because of the price and availability of the .22lr ammo. In the meantime I shoot this 54r all the time. Its cheap, dependable and packs a military punch. Who can complain about .18 cents a round?"

"Not a single misfire and not a single busted shell. Put 200 rounds down range in a day without a problem."

"We shoot four rifles in this caliber, a Hex receiver 91/30 Mosin Nagant, a round receiver 1942 Mosin, a M44 Mosin carbine, and a VEPR w/23 inch barrel. We can shoot when we want and not spend a fortune. Its a great deal, 0.22 cents a round shipped to your door. It was shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. It was shipped in cardboard without a wooden crate but did include the can opener. The tins are in perfect condition. We will shoot this stuff until it runs out and maybe then we will reload our own brass."

"First things first. Do yourself a favor the FIRST time you order this stuff and order TWO (a full crate) so that you get the "can opener". You'll thank me later! Nice cheap milsurp for the Mosin. Not "match" accurate, but who cares, it goes BANG! nicely. You want accurate? Pull the bullet and powder, and reload into a brass case with a boxer primer, but only put back about 3/4 of the powder. Now you will have a nice, mild, non-corrosive target load good out to several hundred yards."

"Ordered this ammo because I recently purchased a Mosin Nagant 91/30. This ammo was not supposed to come with a can opener, but it did, so I was really happy about that. I paid a great price shipped so it was the best price around at the time for 440 rounds. Once I wrestled the can open, the ammo was perfect and I'd heard the air rush in when I first broke the seal so the can had remained air tight. I fired 40 or so rounds this past weekend with no issues, and I'm very pleased with this purchase. Remember this ammo is corrosive so I cleaned my gun immediately after shooting it."

"solid steel core (armor piercing). this is bulk ammo that is perfect for target practice - or long term storage. the can is 1/32nd thick, so it would be worth your time to purchase the opener for it. weighs 25 lbs with can; transport can be difficult if you're not good at logistics."

"Came with a can opener (sounds like some people didn't get it included?), the rounds were still neatly packed, no corrosion or signs of exposure. Beat that.Post Script: Pardox posted a review on 6/17/2014, said he used a grinder to open the spam can... you've gotta do what you've gotta do to get at that sweet sweet ammo, but after reading a review in which the purchaser found loose powder and broken shells, I would NOT recommend using a grinder to open the cans (sparks off even the mildest steel can top 1,000 degrees F)"

"I bought a can and had the same problem of getting it open as most people. After take a screwdriver and the backside of an axe to it for about an hour i got it open enough to take some out. I didn't have an extraction problem like some people are saying they do - they probably needed to take it completely apart and clean out all that dang cosmoline. If there was one thing I can complain about is the accuracy of the ammo. I have shot the Tula hunting loads which are a little more than a dollar per round and they were far more accurate, these I was having to aim significantly low even at 50 yards. Given how cheap this ammo is I don't really care that I may have to compensate for it. Sure, you may miss the first shot, but you've got 439 more. Get over it."

"I received my two cans in a very timely manner and in great shape. I haven't opened them due to time constraints, but I have full faith the rounds will perform as expected. The deal was really on these two cans, but I wish they would have included an opener. I understand most other supplies throw an opener in when you buy at least two cans. Just sayin'..."

"The shipping boxes were pretty poor and the cans got banged up. However they are made to take this kind of abuse and all are still sealed with no punctures and the ammo is perfect."
5.0 5
"The ammo is worth every dime. Corrosive ammunition scares off some people but this is only mildly corrosive. Clean the bore with Windex,a dry path and oil and you'll never have a problem. You do NOT need to disassemble the bolt and clean it after every outing. Everyone should have a couple of Mosin-Nagant rifles and this ammo makes them cheap to shoot."

"I love shooting surplus ammo in my Mosins, and CTD has a good price right now. Delivery was 2 days from order date!!"
5.0 5
"This ammo is far better than most people give it credit for. I've shot hundreds of this and it is VERY accurate in my Nagant. Is lethal against cayotes and badgers:) it is also very easy to clean. Just spray Windex down the barrel then clean as normal. Doesn't take me more than 4 or 5 minutes start to finish."
5.0 5
"In all fairness, this is the only ammo I've ever fired out of my Mosin, so this isn't really a comparison review, just my impressions. I have yet to experience failure to fire or failure to extract. The ammo was packaged tightly, with no broken shells or loose powder. The can was initially difficult to open, but not so bad that I'd take a point off. As far as accuracy goes, I'm not a professional shooter by any means, but with nothing but iron sights, I was putting rounds in the black on a target at 100 yards. Without another point of comparison, I can't say if this is better or worse than modern ammo, but I can say that for ammo that was significantly cheaper than modern rounds, I never felt like the bullets were the weak link in my accuracy. As far as the corrosive primer issue, just make sure you clean your gun when you get home and you'll have no problems. I have some patches soaked in Hoppe's 9 that took care of that."

"Ordered on 25th arrived 27th ordered 2 cans no opener, but I'm a pack rat and had one already. Ammo that arrived was a 1973 silver tip both cans were intact, decently packaged. No issues with ammo fired off 120 rounds 6 packs from each can no issues feeding it to my Mosin Nagant."
4.0 5
"This Russian production ammo is the usual silver tip type that had been produced for years. It is NOT sniper or extremely accurate ammo plus it's corrosive. On the plus side: the price reminded me of the good old days, almost. So, for the price you can't go wrong. Stock up while you can. This surplus will dry up one day just like the 303 and others."
5.0 5
"I can shoot my Mosin Nagant almost as cheaply as my Ruger 10/22. For .25 a round it doesn't matter that you can't reload these cases. I can't reload a brass case that cheaply anyway. I've bought several 'cans' of this. Still working on shooting through the first one with several more sitting on the shelf in reserve. I'm used to cleaning my gun after every use anyway, so the corrosive propellants aren't a concern for me. If you don't like, or aren't used to cleaning your gun and bolt group after every use, this is probably not the ammo for you."
5.0 5
"I bought a Mosin Nagant 91/30 and have shot about 80 of these rounds so far and am impressed with the ammo. It has penetration power to spare and is CHEAP! I'm debating buying two more cans to keep on hand, cheaper here than anywhere else."
5.0 5
"I purchased this and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the can. I was happy to receive a can opener with my purchase and it was easy to open. Inside were nice untouched tightly packed individual packages of the ammo all in brand new condition. I would definitely recommend this ammo."

"Some one must have goofed, every spam can in my order was from the same plant, 188. For a few pre-WWII, AND WWII production rifles this ammo shot fantastic. All 10 of my 91/30's grouped under 1.5 inches, at 100 yards, with iron sights. When I switched to my scoped 91/30's. My groups were all under 1 inch at 100 yards. Two of the 91/30's were shooting one hole 5 round groups. Their barrels both measured at .311, chamber to muzzle. Both bores were centered in both barrels. Both were PEM sniper rifles. The spent rounds dug out of the sand berm weighed in at over 151 grains. Thank You CTD for the great ammo at such a great price."

"Shooting a 100yd military target at a 100 yards with iron sight Mosin and sniper rifle was able to keep them in the black with iron sights. Sniper rifle inch and half to two inches. Cleans easy with vinegar and water."

"Great ammo, never had a FTF or FTE. Works better than the more expensive non corrosive ammo. Tried PPU and Tulammo and either the case split or didn't eject. If you clean your rifle after shooting this ammo, you won't have any issues. I will be buying another can soon. Keep up the good work and keep those prices low!"
4.0 5
"I wrote a review for this ammo, and my statements about the rounds themselves still stand. These are great rounds for the price, they shoot quite accurately, and the corrosiveness is taken care of by cleaning your gun with a good cleaning solution after each trip to the range, which you should do anyways. The one star I'm deducting from this is due to the armor piercing nature of the ammo. Because it is steel jacketed and steel core, none of the indoor ranges where I live allow it. If the indoor ranges where you live don't allow steel jacketed, steel core, or armor piercing rounds and you don't have a good outdoor range alternative, you're basically left with driving out of city limits to shoot. It's not exactly a knock against the ammo itself, but you are sacrificing something by getting these instead of some commercial brands, and that's something worth considering."

"My Mosins shoot this ammo all day long, no problems whatsoever in over 1200 rounds. A can opener is a must, opening a spam can with a chisel is no fun, jts not difficult but just don't hit a primer. After firing run a little windex through to clean your gun out or it WILL rust. Love this ammo!"

"Not a bad ammunition for the price. The can is pretty hard to open without the specific can opener but can be chiseled open. Great can for the gun safe or shtf supplies. The can weighs about 25lb so its not for the bugout bag but definitely helps feed those hungry Mosins, PSLs, and Dragunovs. Good value for the money."

"I found an easy way to open the sealed can. Turned it upside down and used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel to open. Go slow and watch depth of cut as can does get warm and the cutting wheels have a tendency to shatter. Just a small flap cut into bottom and pulled out the packages. Can display empty case as hole is in bottom. Took less than 10 minutes on first can taking it slow. Won't take long now that I know how. Hate it's corrosive though, but cheap."

"First off, fast shipping by CTD. Great price, cheapest I found on the interwebz. .18 a round to shoot. I bought 1 Can about 3-4 months ago and would go shooting every other weekend and burn through about 20-60 rounds. I NEVER had an issue with extracting a round, never split, no FTF. Every round I shot went through the barrel. I read some people saying its not accurate, ammo sucks blah blah blah. Its user error for the most part. My wife hit a soda can at 176 yards iron sights with this stuff. I can hit bottles consistently at 100 yards. I've put time into my mosin 91/30 and have watched enough youtube vids on how to clean my rifle properly, sand bolt/trigger job, remove cosmoline, and accurize my mosin. You can too. This stuff is corrosive, so you better clean your rifle afterwards. No complaints here, just wishing you sold a 880 rd box. Thanks CTD!"

"Best ammo value on the planet. Never had a bad round. I've read about people getting "broken" rounds but, between friends and I, we've gone through 10 plus cans and never had a bad one. Be sad when it's all gone :("

"I did not fire any of this ammo yet, but I did receive it in just a couple of days.Make sure you do get a can opener- I found one on eBay for just about $8- well worth it, it opened the can without effort in just a few seconds (I'm not about to use a hammer and screwdriver on a can with ammo)."

"I have bought 2 cans of this ammo. Both cans came with an opener that while not pleasant, got the job done pretty quickly. It fires fine, I haven't had any issues other than just being dirty. It took quite a few pads down the bore plus a boresnake to get all the gunk out, but it was worth it for how affordable it is."

"I just got my can today! It looked rough, but I wasn't expecting a new can on surplus ammo. Bonus was that it came with a can opener! It makes the job much easier! If you don't get one I would recommend buying one! I have not shot any of this ammo yet but I have shot surplus ammo so I figure it is the same! Will buy again most likely!"

"Received a can opener with the can which was much appreciated. Rounds are in very good condition and fire with no problem. Grouping is consistent although my Mosin seems to be off a bit. Rounds eject and load much easier than the lacquer coated surplus rounds I bought earlier. Can't beat the price, just be sure to clean after use."

"On a lead sled I was hitting gallon jugs of water open sights with my 1942 91/30 at about roughly 400 yards. ZERO failure to fire and they cycled the bolt wonderfully. It's like a .22 for adults (not that .22Lr is for kids only!). I am very paranoid about corrosion so I fully clean my rifle with 24 hrs every time. Enjoy!"

"This only took 3 days to get to my door and it took me 5 minutes to open half the can with a screwdriver and hammer. Its much easier than previous reviewers implied.
