"It's for a Picatinny rail sir, of course it isn't going to work well otherwise. I bought a Tapco stock for my Ruger 10/22 rifle (.22LR) and the stock comes with Picatinny rails. I wanted to put a rail mount bi-pod on it, and everything else I looked at was $90+. I didn't need a lifetime warranty part, just something that would allow me to go prone and shoot targets for amusement. This part fit the bill and is strong enough for the task I need it for. It is obviously not strong enough to take massive amounts of abuse as a soldier would subject one to in a combat situation, but for recreational use: it is great! It is inexpensive, which is the big plus ... again, I didn't need a combat ready bi-pod. Anyhow, the boots at the end of the legs can slide off of the tubes, which allowed me to cut 2.5\" off each tube to shorten it for a more comfortable heigth for my preference .. then the shoes slide right back on.If you just need something to work that will steady your aim, and withstand recreational use, this bi-pod is great and affordable."

"Nope. This bipod did not make the grade. I purchase it for prairie dog hunting [shooting] and it was too light and fell apart. I should have selected another product for the job. The pins went loose and was not the ideal item for the task. I do not recommend this for an AR15 carbine for bench hunting."
