"why pay more for the factory mag when this one works just like the factory one.you can buy 2 of these mags for what a ruger factory one costs.they only diffrence is these don't have the ruger eagle on them.i have bought a few of these and have not had any problems at all.this is the only aftermarket mag that i have had success with no matter what firearm i use i have had great success with the promag brand plus they have a lifetime warranty but i have never had to use it yet because they always work just like factory."

"I bought one of these just to have on hand. the follower/spring gets stuck everytime with 5-6 rounds left, which tends to also cause a misfeed. Not the sort of thing I would want to happen if my life were at stake. I blame these malfunctions on shoddy manufacturing, or maybe I just got unlucky and got a lemon. Overall, I have not been impressed with the quality of products I have purchased from CTD, just my opinion though."

"Mag will not lock in, so its useless. Buy the factory mag!"

"I bought one of these pieces of junk, tried 3 different brands of ammo, the follower hangs up/gets stuck on all. taking mag. and and tapping it corrects the sticking for a few rounds then it hangs up again. I regret having waited past the 30 day limit on sending the trash back. bought a ruger factory 20 round mag. excellent !!!!!"

"This mag stinks. It does not engage into the mag well and stay in place.I contacted ProMag and sent it back. They are currently \"behind in production 2 to 3 weeks\" -- I have been told that several times. Promag does not have any replacements and will not offer refunds. This is a waste of money. Buy the ruger factory mags. I have 2 and they work flawlessly."

"I bought two of these mags for my 187 Ranch and they were so solid I turned around and bought 3 more. They locked right in without any dremel/filing needed. There is no play or movement in the mag when firing. I've fired several hundred rounds through them without any issues."

"Got one of these a few months back, and was very satisfied. So far this is the only aftermarket Ruger mini-14 20 round magazine that actually worked, without having to bend the feed lips for an hour with a pair of pliers. I loaded the magazine, it locked right into place firmly, and I cycled the bolt and every round fed perfectly. Reading the other reviews, maybe there was a bad batch from the factory, but I couldn't be happier with what I got. Way better than the no-name stainless ones from the S.G....those were worthless junk."

"Virtually identical to the Ruger factory mag complete with identical spot welds and follower. Cycled & fed just as well as my factory Ruger 20s. Will be buying more of these shortly!"

"After I got my mini, I kept looking for a mag that would keep me from taking the original 5-rounder out numerous times and reloading when I was out target practicing. I've got 40-rounders before, but they all had the flaw I didn't like: the welded-on mag catch. It's never broken on me before, but I can see it happening. So far, this is the only metal mag I've had that had the formed catch made into the mag, just like the factory 20-round (that should have never ceased production) and I give this magazine 5 stars not only because of that, but because this one has never failed me. Of course, if you use this mag for defense, I suggest brass ammo instead of bi-metal, just because of round-after-round reliability, but that's just my opinion. All in all, for the price, reliability, and solid construction (not sure, but I think Pro-mag uses music wire for spring tension.) This is great for the range, you can get two of these for the price of one good factory 20-round."

"Can't say much more than they work and work well. Never had a single jam or other hang-up with these mags and they are *half* the price of Ruger factory mags.I've had mix results with other Mini-14 magazines, but this is the one to get for reliability."

"I have bought several of these and they work much better than cheaper aftermarket magazines. I have also purchased a polymer promag magazine for the mini-14 that didn't work well. Buy the steel ones."

"I bought these Pro Mag 20 round mags for my Mini-14 and couldn't be happier. They locked solidly into the mag well with no play whatsoever. They also held the bolt open after the last round was ejected everytime. These are high quality replacement mags and they're a lot cheaper than the Ruger mags locally. You won't be disappointed!"

"Just got three of these mini-14 20 rnd Promags. Only one of the three would dry cycle. If you like misery, order yourself some of them! I am not going to waste my time or money shipping them to Promag for replacement because I'm sure the replacements would be crap as well. Live and learn! For now on I will only purchase factory RUGER mags for my mini-14 because they work as they should."

"Mags work flawless in my new mini but will not lock in my first generation mini. Oh well, thats why I bought the new mini in the first place. Great mags for the price!"

"got two of these mags and both work great. i was just gona go with the factory mags but them dang thing cost too much. i have 4 factory 20 round mags (already) and if you put them right next to the promags you could barely tell the difference... buy em. you won't regret it"

"I ordered 4 of these magazines for my 188-series Ranch Rifle. I purchased the gun used, and it came with 3 30-round magazines that had trouble locking in and feeding. All four of these mags are excellent. They lock in securely and easily, are removed with ease, in fact, if you just hit the lever they will drop out. They feed well in the 3 or 4 times I've loaded and then emptied them. I only had one jam with very cheap ammo. The nicer cases cycle no problem, and no difference in performance between .223 and 5.56, either. Also worthy of noting, is that the quality is consistent. Usually with cheaper mags one or two will function properly out of several you buy. Not so here. All the mags are of equal quality and dimensions. The finish is of fairly good quality, and the mags seem to be very strong. I have yet to compare them to Ruger factory mags, but for the money these are hard to beat for me. Please do note that several people I know, their rifles will have nothing to do with these mags. One of them is an older production, and one a newer production. These magazines are not for everybody, but as said above, my 188 series has no problems."

"I'm sort of surprised to find myself writing this, but I find these ProMag Mini-14 magazines to actually be of higher quality construction than the current crop of Ruger brand magazines.I've had my Mini for about 10 years, and I have an original, Pre-Ban 20 rounder from Ruger. It Couldn't be better. I have several recent production ProMags that look and function every bit as good, minus the nifty Ruger logo. Recently I found a really good looking price on a new production Ruger mag, so I snapped it up, and was disappointed in the quality of the construction. Yeah, it has the Ruger logo, but it also has bulges in the edges of the sheet metal, between the spot welds, both front and back of the magazine. It works fine, but on every one of my ProMags, the edges lay perfectly flat against the metal underneath. Lowered Q.C. standards on Ruger's part! Q: Why am I going to pay more for the Ruger Logo? A: I'm NOT!"

"These things are amazing! i have ordered 3 from CTD . All work great. I am told they do not function well in older mini's. I have a 2009 Tactical Mini 14"

"After going back and forth on all the different magazines for the mini 14, I decided to try the Promag and was pleasantly surprised. It fits very secure, I shot 40 rounds threw it right after I got it, worked perfectly. I\uFFFDm going to try the 30 round Promag next."

"Excellent magazines. Promag has to be the factory OEM for Ruger. These magazines are identical to the factory 20s down to the spot welds. I've had ten for two years now and just ordered 5 more, they've never jammed up or caused problems in my 183 GB, AC556, or 185 stainless. That's right, these mags work just fine in an AC556. If they work flawlessly in a full-auto they're just about as good as you can get without spending a fortune on Ruger brand name mags."

"I bought two of these for a recently purchased Ruger Mini-14. I was very satisfied with both CTD's service and delivery, and with the product itself. Many years ago in a galaxy far far away, I had some prior experience in the Army with M-16s. This mag was as good as those, although I did feel compelled to clean & oil it before loading and firing. I'm not what you'd call a serious shooter, but do love to get out on the range every now and then. The magazine is ok. I REALLY wanted to review the Mini-14, which is a good rifle, but CTD's policy is to review what you bought from them. Hey, it's their website. But the Mini is a good bang for the buck, reasonably lightweight, easy to handle, a bit of a pain to disassemble for cleaning, and generally shoots pretty straight at short to medium range. A bit more kick than an M-16, but a lot less than my daughter's .270 hunting rifle."

"I have 2 of these specific Promags and 2 Ruger factory mags all in the 20rd flavor. I mix them in my ammo pouches and cant tell the difference unless I inspect them closely. They always function perfectly! Plain and simple."
