"I read mixed reviews. I also read that model A3 over the A1 changed all that. Well, it didn't for my rifle. I purchased two from CTD and two from another online source. All four wouldn't begin to work past the first round. The people at Cheaper Than Dirt were aces, but I have a bad taste for ProMag."

"I figured out what was going wrong with these mags in my new Hi-Point 995TS carbine (very nice little gun, BTW). I use 147gr Federals in it, and these ProMags seat in the handle just a tiny fraction of an inch farther forward in the magwell than the factory 10 rounders. This caused the nose of the first round to catch on the little \"last shot\" hold-open lever and tip the round downwards in the mag. Looking straight down at the lever, it was slightly canted rearward enough to interfere with the rounds in the ProMag. I disassembled the action, and tweaked the hold-open lever so that it now sits at 90-degrees to the surrounding metal; just a tiny bit forward of square. Tried the ProMags, and all was well. Worked for me, anyway."

"Having many of the Hi Point OEM magazines, I decided to try this ProMag HIP A3 15-rounder. I am very happy I did! Before first use I did sand the follower and applied dry lube inside the mag, having read of problems with the earlier ProMags. I have shot through multiple full magazines flawlessly, in two different 995s. This includes proper operation of the last round bolt hold open. I am ordering more."

"Well, the bad press was right in my case too... won't feed the first round. They nose dive into the mag. I think the spring is not strong enough... Tweaking it I've gotten it to feed the bottom 12 dependably, some more tweaking I've gotten it to where it will feed all 15, not feeding the second round some times. I also tried an OEM Hi Point follower in it, no difference."

"Well, I thought I'd try one. Wont feed the first 3, rounds nose dive. Good for 12 rounds though. I think it is the follower and weak spring. Have tweaked every way to Sunday. Find it actually works better with the HiPoint follower in it, if feeding one more round for 13 is really better. Now thinking of finding a stronger spring. Unless you have nothing to do but tinker with something like this, stick with the OEM mags.."
