This product is precision molded to meet MIL-STD 1913 Picatinny rail specifications. The rail is manufactured from a proprietary black polymer. Attachment to the rifle or carbine hand guard is by three (3) machine screws into captured nuts, with mounting lugs protruding from the backside of the rail. The rail allows attachment of a vertical fore grip, flashlight, laser and/or bipod. No permanent modification required, includes all mounting hardware.

Specifications:
Overall length of 6
Mounting screws are located on 2.125 centers
Mounting lugs are .360 dia. with a height of .115
Fourteen (14) slots

Note: The mounting screw spacing was derived from the holes provided in the original Colt CAR-15*, and may vary on hand-guards from other manufacturers as the spacing was not a critical dimension in the Mil-Spec.

"I recently purchased this item, along with a few others, for my ar15. I have a 16\" carbinethat i put together from a kit. The mounting holes did not line up with the holes on my handgaurd. With a few cuts, i should get it to work. Looks like a quality product though."

"I ordered this based on the others reviews, I also have a 16\" carbine and like the other gentleman mine would not line up with the holes in forearm. One hole will line up but the other two will not. This is also longer that my forearm handgaurd and I would have to drill one new hole and make one larger to make this product fit. I'm am returning mine for something different!"

"I ordered one of these and a couple of others very similar. The reason people are having problems with them fitting properly is because there are two different hole spacing on two different hand guard sets. The older verson of hand guard are spaced differently than the newer handguards. Get the correct rail or handguards and it lines up just fine."

"This is exactly what I was looking for. It fit my new Rock River and does just what it is designed to do and does it well. A very inexpensive way to get the job done. I would have given a rating of 5 bullets, but I reserve that for something that is just over the top."

"Again CTD was very fast on their delivery. Very happy with the shipping. I ordered this piece and the 11.5\" rail and Forend Grip BLACK. I've ordered several pieces and am deciding what set-up that works best for me. I have a z-rail that I don't think I'll end up using. I'm putting these pieces on a new Bushmaster A2 w/20\" barrel. The TriRail Barrel Mount is also a great piece. I've put my tact light and laser on that piece. I have a sling mount on the bottom of the tri-mount for adding a bipod later. The pieces all seem to be made pretty well. If you try and compare the prices of CTD with about anywhere else you will see how much cheaper CTD is. The tact light I paid $22 for here I've seen selling on 2 other sites for $99. Same thing with many of these rail pieces. The tri-rail mount kit was $84.95 on Bushmaster. CTD sells it for $21.97. The z-rail type rail was $148 on Bushmaster and $21 here on CTD. I'm very pleased with the shipping times and products. I haven't had any problems. Everything I've ordered seems to be very well made. Thanks for the good products. Lt. Earp"

"Works fine for what it is. Just be prepared to do some mods like drilling a hole or two and adding sturdier washers and bolts for a first class install."

"I bought this for my Colt m-4 short AR. From what I have seen it seems like all the round AR forestocks have holes at the same distance. I don't know if this was designed for the triangle Viet Nam era stocks or what. But with my Colt I could kinda get 2 holes to line up. Forget all 3. Then they have a raised area of plastic underneath to mate in the holes in the stock. You must remove 2 of them. I cut it up until it sits flat. This works for me as I only needed a small area for the vertical grip. The half is lose where I can't put the 3rd screw. It worked out to be ok for a ten dollar solution."

"Received this rail, and installed it on my Bushmaster XM15, and it's a perfect fit. Feels solid. I would give it 5 bullets but it was missing two of the three mounting screws&nuts. I was going to replace them anyway. Other reviews said the three holes didn't line up, but it's perfect on my XM15. Can't beat the price."

"I installed this rail on my stock Bushmaster XM-15 carbine in 2 mins with only a screw driver. The Bushmaster XM-15 has a different forearm shape then the standard M-4, so check ur gun b4 you order. It was a perfect fit and locked up great with my Insight M3 tactical light and TangoDown fore grip. Great product! Saved me time and money! I recomend some Locktite for the bolts. I was even able to pop my heat sheild back into the forearm after I installed the rail. I have tons of gear and have spent hundreds of dollars on other rail setups, but I would highly recomend this product for anyone that wants a cool looking gun for cheap, that also works great! Thanks CTD for yet another great item! and this one the wife can't even yell at me about since it cost less then $10.00 hahaha"

"Good rail! Perfect fit for my DPMS Panther Arms AP4 - no drilling, no milling! My only concern is that the rail is made from composite plastic instead of metal - but does appear to be quality-made. Due to the plastic construction I'm giving this item 4 out of 5 shots for my review. We'll see how she holds up with a bipod and laser mounted......"

"Ordered with the Mako AG44 foregrip. Installed in minutes on a 20\" Bushie A2. Removed stock, carefully removed the metal heat shield, screws were more than long enough. One tip, I think I ended up mounting this backwards with the \"stop\" towards the receiver. Going the other way did not leave room to slide the fore grip on and off from the rear.GREAT VALUE if you want a rail on our stock stock."

"BEWARE!!! these rails WILL NOT FIT handguards with aluminum heat shields. if you do buy them, you will need a longer screw. Mine fell short about 1/4 inch. oh well, off to the hardware store."

"I have Cavalry Arms C5 hand-guards on a rifle, and I thought this would be just the ticket since it's flat and the hand-guards have no taper. It is pretty sturdy polymer, and installation was easy with no fitting or mods required, other than popping out the metal hand-guard liner. But after I had it back together, I had a heck of a time getting anything to go on the rail. I finally got a Knight's Armament vertical grip and a Streamlight TLR to go on, but it took some doing, and adjusting anything back and forth on the rail is definitely a 2-handed operation. A couple of other vertical grips I had laying around wouldn't go on at all. I think it was a little bigger than spec. If you absolutely need a flat lightweight rail, it'll work, but you may have to choose your accessories carefully, or modify them or the rail to fit. I wouldn't recommend this one."
