"This is a very nice product at a great price. You can add rails very easily and inexpensively. If you don't have the \"delta\" wrench for holding down the delta ring, removing the 2-piece handguards is difficult. Buy a wrench from CTD. If your stock handguard has the aluminum shields, be careful removing them. Some snap into place, while others have holes that push onto small, cylindrical tabs. There may be other arrangements. Just be careful removing the shields as they are thin and soft. You have to remove them to mount the rail screws."

"Excellent quality metal rails fits carbine fore-end since they are shorter 6\" style. Comes with 3 sets of mounting hardware not just two."

"These are high quility metal rails. Not the cheap plastic kind that are not up specs. The rails themselves are very easy to instal and no directions are needed. The only problem you may have is with your particular rifles handguard set up, i.e. the number of inner heatshields and how easy the can be removed and replaced. So in all I am very happy with this product and will buy more for other rifles."

"These are simple, durable and effective. Angled to counter the HG taper so your lights or laser match point of impact with minimal adjustments. If you only use two of the supplied mounts you will still have adequate ventilation for cooling of the barrel. Don't block your HG vent holes !!!!"

"GREAT RAILS FOR MY DPMS M4 GAURDS. THIS IS TWO, ONE FOR TOP AND THE BOTTOM. BEATS $30 TO $40 0N SOME BRANDS. ALL YOU DO IS REMOVE GAURDS AND THE HEAT SHIELD AND FASTEN THEM WITH THE HARDWARE THAT COMES WITH IT. GREAT PRODUCT, WOULD RECOMMEND."

"Awsome Rails...You get 2 for 1...what a deal. I had um on in about an hour. And, that is because this is my first AR-15 and didn't know that you had to take the handguards off first...lol. I just had a hard time attatching them. But, once I got um on...Wow!!! I am very pleased!"

"These rails fit perfect on my Colt 6\" handguards and are rock solid, no modifications or extra holes needed to be drilled. It did not work on my Model1Sales 6\" handguards. The width of the handguards where the rails mount are too narrow on one end. The rails are tapered for I guess milspec handguards and the Model1Sales and maybe other aftermarket handguards are not quite to spec. For the price I give this a 5, but if you are using non milspec handguards it may need some mods or mod to the handguard."

"When these rails arrived I noticed that they were slightly tapered and would not fit the predefined channel on my stock High Standard AR-15 M4 foregrips; nor did the inserts fit the holes. My solution was to use a drill to slightly enlarge the holes and a belt sander to sand the channel on the foregrip flat. No problem after that and I was even able to re-insert the heat shield afterwards. The quality of the rails is quite good and they work fine for my vertical grip."

"I purchased this item after reading about all of the positive comments about its ease of installation, price, and most of all quality. The rails fit on my M&P 15 with ease (with a little help from my girlfriend) and are of excellent quality. Sure beat the price of spending 100+ on a custom handguard set or quad rail. I also purchased Forend Grip Black (Arr-073) and it was a perfect tandem. Thanks to all previous reviewers for their insight."

"These rails are great. Fitting nice and snug on the handguard of my M4. Installation for me was a bit of a problem though. I didn't know exactly how it was supposed to be done with no instruction manual to guide me. Drilling may be necessary to fit as some holes dont align for screws. I didn't want do that so I just used different screws than the ones provided(I really couldn't figure it out), but after all was done, it was a big sigh of relief and satisfaction."

"I wanted to add a rail to the lower handguard on my Bushmaster Patrolman's Carbine (M-4). These rails - I actually only used one from the set - worked well. I'm not sure how well they'd work for mounting lasers or sights, since they might shift slightly with use, but they work just as well as much more expensive rails for mounting lights and vertical grips. Hey, they even look good. Installation was simple. First I removed the lower handguard, carefully pried up one side of the aluminum heat shield, and slid the flat-topped nuts (included) under the shield so that they fit into the holes in the plastic portion of the handguard. Then I placed the rail onto the outside of the handguard, put the mounting bolts through the pre-drilled holes in the rail - and the holes in the handguard - into the nuts and tightened them with a hex (Allen) wrench. After that, I replaced the handguard on the rifle. Done! If you are sure that you want to leave the rail in place, it's a good idea to add some thread locking compound (LocTite, etc.) to the threads when you install the rail to keep the bolts from loosening under repeated recoil. Overall, these rails are a good product at a great price."

"These are some really nice rails, but only needed one. Had to finagle it a little bit to line up with the holes on my S&W M&P15A but once I did they lined right up. Took me about 25 mins. to install, with about 20 mins of that removing and reinstalling the lower hand guard by myself. This is a real good value so far."

"Great for upgrading your standard AR forearm to a more tactical platform without spending the money on a whole new handrail! I did re-thread the plates with a little bit beefier set screw. The included ones would have probably worked (but the plates are aluminum) and I wanted accomodate a forward pistol grip and tac light with no hassles in the field. Didn't even attach the second plate (heat dispersion issues?) but it will sit in my \"gun box\" with my other toys untill I find another project for it! :)"

"Good product. Rails are solid aluminum with good weight to them. Adjustable mounts to fit different manufacture handguards. They are actually slanted to counteract the slant of the handguard which I found to be a good feature. Just pop heat shield out to mount. I had to put reinstall on the rifle to fully tighten so don't get frustrated."

"I ordered these rails so I could put one on my Colt Lightweight. I mounted the first rail on the Colt, slid on a vertical grip and was ready to shoot. I had the second rail so I started to look for something to do with it. It didn't take long to find a place to put it. My MAK-90 has a Fiberforce Dragunov stock and forearm. With about two minutes of work with a half round file I opened up two of the vents enough to mount the second rail on the upper hand guard. The rail mounted very solid, a tactical light mounted quickly and holds fast when the rifle is fired. Thanks CTD two great rails for the price of one!"

"Pros: cheap, works great, easy to installCons: just a bolt onI got this set for my Bushmaster XM15 with the 16\" barrel. I went with this set of rails because I wasnt ready to buy a full handguard rail system. As previously stated in other reviews, each set of handguards and heat shields are a little different. I managed to work my heatshields off with a pair of long needle nose pliers. The rails went on without a hitch. They sit about 1/8\" forward on my grips so they arent perfectly flush with the front and back. But for the price, I could care less. Also, I was concerned with how snug they would be and if they would be loose at all but they are holding strong so far. This is one of those times you definitely get more than you pay for. This offer is a steal and a great alternative for anyone wanting a full rail system or a temporary fix until they get one."

"Fit perfectly on my Stag M1, took all of 5 minutes. Rails are designed for the 'fat' M4 profile hand guard and are cut at the angle to match to sit perpendicular to the bore. Not sure if they will fit perfectly with a 'car' style hand guard. Some that have fit issues might be from those with different hand guards."

"These fit like a glove on my M&P15R. The only thing I didnt like was that they are easy to crossthread while assembeling. (prolly my fault) Just had to go to the local hardware store to get new pieces. But anyway, they fit well and hold tight... Use some blue LocTight."

"This is a quality product but it is not universal to M4 Handguards. On a standard DPMS bulky plastic M4 handguard set the lower underside locking fitting doesn't fit without either removing material from the cooling fins of the handguard or cutting away some of the fitting so it will fit down within the handguard. The rail is totally not compatible with the Stag or Rock River slimline M4 handguards with the metal heat shields. First the rail is too wide for the rail grooves in the handguard. Second the rail locking fittings are too large for the air holes. Third the bolts are too short to mate. I didn't find any handguard set where the rail fit without some smithing."

"The rails are fine, but I did have to do a little modification to make them fit my Arizona Armory M4. The screws came up about 1/8\" short. A little grinder work and a tap with a punch and they fit just fine. No problem with hole alignment. They are very solid now and will do the job just fine."

"This item was perfect for our needs! When adding rails on a budget, this item is top shelf. Simply remove the handgaurd, attack these and instant rails. The only issue one should be aware of is, if you have a flatop receiver, the rails are higher than your natural receiver rail-line. I found this true on the second AR we attemped them on. A great price for a great product!"

"These rails are pretty decent if your tryin to build a tactical M-4 on a bugget. I just put a set of these on my cousins M&P 15. fits really nice, just a little bulky looking. an these do sit a little higher then the rial on the reciever!! I seen alot of people sayin how the screws wernt long enough or whatever, I found that by poppin the heat sheilds off that I had no problems at all!! So all in all, not a bad product... but my advice is spend the extra money an get the actuall quad rail."

"This is an Awsome part. I put them on my S&W M&P 15 and they fit great. to those who have bought them and say they dont fit, they didnt do it right. make sure that they are flipped over the right way and you WILL have to take the heat shields off to get them on but after you get them on they heat shields will go back on. I am a former U.S. Army armorer and take my word for it. they are better then the ones we used and i WILL recommend these to others!"

"I recently purchased a bushmaster ar-15. Wanting to dress it up a bit, I bought a Harris bi-pod. I'll tell ya this, I'm new to rifles of any sort. I was able to fit the rail properly on the front end grip with little help and no extra tools, I was able to get it attatched. It mounted up great under the heat shield and held the bi-pod adater firm. I would recommend this product to anyone not having the money for quad-rail. Thanks CTD."

"Just got the rails 15 minutes ago from Fed Ex and I have them installed already!! I have a R1 model STAG ARMS M4 Carbine with round type fore grip. Unlike many others that had to do some fabricating, I was finally the lucky one to get a perfect fit. The rails are very nice and durable, not to good to be true, they are cheap. BUY IT!!"

"these are made by NcSTAR. Are very good quality. Me and my buddy got these to mount on the bottom of a Magpul MOE Handguard. These definitely do not fit right. They are too long by maybe 1/2 inch and are slanted. Magpul MOE sits perfectly straight, and the standard carbine rail would have a slant.Good priduct, but CTD needs to update their product description since it did not fit for many reviews on here"

"The holes lined up fine. It states \"triple set of screws\" and each set only can with 2 screws. One very short and one that was the right length. I found the rail too wide for the rail grooves in the handguard. I had to grind the handguard rail groove to get it to fit in the rail groove on the handguard. Not a perfect fit on an Essential Arms A3 Carbine but for the price I made it work. Holds my UTG Eronomic Foregrip just fine"

"are these good or bad, well, depends on what you are using them for and if you are willing to do a little fabrication. they are well built and seem tough. but here is my findings: first, i had to drill the port holes bigger on my CAR-15 handguards to mount the rail on the bottom because the screws and nuts were too short to go through the handguard and the metal inner shroud. i didnt mind, as handguards are cheap and i have spare laying around. i also could not for the life of me get the rail to fit between the groves on the handguard, so it is mounted a very slight angle. due to this, no way would i use these rails to mount optics, sights or scopes. im installing a pistol grip front with a flashlight, so this is not a big deal to me. also, when i slid my M3 light on the rail, it locked in place, but wiggles a lot. so did two sets of scope rings that i put on to test my theory that the rails are not machined for a tight fit. again, due to this problem, i would not mount any scopes, sights or optics on these. on my pistol grip and flashlight, i found if i used a piece of the fuzzy side of velcro in between the rail and the pistol grip / flashlight that it tightened up just fine. so in short, if your building on a budget, and all your mounting is a flashlight, grip, or something else that can have some play in it on the rail, these are fine. if your wanting a mount for optics, a scope, or a sight, or your expecting a high quality rail mount for this price, steer far away from these. and be ready to make a few \"adjustments\" to whatever your putting these on, as they may or may not require adjustments."

"Well, didn't expect much, but I at least expected the dimensions to be consistant. The rail that is supposed to interface with the groove in the top or bottom handguard was just a smidge too wide on one end, and almost an 8th of an inch too wide at the other end. In addition, the narrow end, which is the one that is supposed to be up next to the reciever, was still too thick, and would be higher than the A3 style receiver rail.I expected some filing, but...Tell your supplier to check his machines...the tapering interface rail is a dumb mistake."

"I bought this product a few days ago and installed it on my S&W M&P 15. Awesome fitment!! NO it is not the same quality at the high dollar stuff but what do you expect for $10.. The hardest part about the installation is getting the handguard off the rifle.. AAA+++++"

"Good deal. Nice and stable, but I would save for a better handguard system. The bolts are short & the fit is a little off on my DPMS glacier guards, so it takes some fitting. I imagine it fits fine with standard handguards. The best part is they are slightly angled so the rail is flat."

"Today at lunch Fed-Ex delivered my order from Cheaper than Dirt which included a pair of deluxe handguard picatinny rails for my Bushmaster XM15e2a. The first thing I noticed was that the screws were a little short for the bottom rail...no big deal. I did like how the rails already had 1/4 inch vent holes, but I had to do the Mighty/Mike thing and machine them out bigger for maximum cooling capabilities. To install the upper rail, the inner heat shield had to be removed thus fore allowing for easy attachment. I used Locktite to insure that the provided retaining fasteners stayed tight. The bottom rail was easily attached with longer screws, which you will have to buy at the local hardware store. The finished product looked great when completed! I'm a VERY HAPPY camper, spending less than $20 to modify my AR to accept all new toys, saving me at least a $100! I highly recommend this product! GREAT JOB, Cheaper than Dirt!"

"These things are great as long as you don\uFFFDt expect too much from them. I read the other reviews and I don\uFFFDt quite understand what the problem is. The mounting points on the rail are slotted for variations in hole pitch from AR to AR. As far as the screws not being long enough, it helps if you pop out the heat shields instead of trying to put the bushings/screws through them! Someone else complained about the rail having a ramped design; if you look at an AR handguard it's not perfectly straight. At least NCStar realized they had to make them like that or your accessories wouldn't sit square to the boreline. As far as stability goes, these fit nice and snug to the handguard and my vertical fore grip sits nice and snug to the rail. The problems lies in the fact that your handguards aren't rock solid. If you grip them tight you can wiggle them back and forth, put a VFG on it and it's easier to notice. So that being said, optics are definitely a no-go on these, but that's not the rails fault. Keep this in mind and you'll be very thrilled, especially with the price. You get 2 for the money when you order for a carbine sized guard. I mounted one and sold the other one to a guy for the $10 I paid for them!! Nice"

"They installed perfectly on my M&P15 and they work fantastically if you know what you're doing. The rails are designed to go one one way and you have to remove the heatguards to install them (then put the heatguards back in). I'm halfway tempted to order a whole bunch more (even though I don't have any more guns to put them on right now) because these things are such an amazing deal. BUY THEM!"

"Looked great and good product for cheap price. But minor gunsmithing required on DPMS Glacier Guard Hand grips. The area where the rear nut goes on the inside has to be dremeled to remove material in order for the nut to fit. Other than that they ok."

"I had to go to home depot and buy some different nuts to secure the rear screws to the handguards on my DPMS sportical because the nuts included would fit on the front screws but not the back. For me it was 2 5mm metric nuts. Other than that inconvenience they work fine. NCstar brand."

"My rails have a MASSIVE mistake that the guy below noted:\"The rail that is supposed to interface with the groove in the top or bottom handguard was just a smidge too wide on one end, and almost an 8th of an inch too wide at the other end. In addition, the narrow end, which is the one that is supposed to be up next to the reciever, was still too thick, and would be higher than the A3 style receiver rail.\"Considering the rails came in separate packages, what a joke! They both have this flaw (although to a visibly different degree). I would fix it myself except there is way too much metal I'd have to remove."

"Got the two short slanted rails last week. I replaced a flat rail a previous owner had installed on the front underside of the Choate side folding stock for my Mini-14. I had to redrill one hole for the back mounting screw because of small differences in the two rails. The new rail looks great & feels solid. The old non-slanted rail made my vfg cant towards the muzzle. The new rail fixed that!"

"Got them today, really fast shipping by CTD. Install took just a few minutes on my DS M4. I had to file away part of the rail where the screws fit in order to line the holes up. One thing that needs to be addressed by the manufacturer is the two different size screws. It would make things easier if both were the longer one. I only installed one rail (all I needed but comes in a pack of two), and used both the long screws.I do recommend these for a quick and cheap conversion instead of purchasing a new handguard."

"It's simple as this, pull your handguards, pop the heat-shields out, orient, and secure - loctite helps. This is the way to go if you've blown your budget on your build, but want accessory rails w/out paying out the nose for a quad-rail set-up. To all those that had issues with hardware length, or the rails not meshing well with your handguards, study it first. Then try it there should not be any problems at all after."

"I bought a tri rail mount for my hand guard upper for a light/laser, but wanted a bottom rail for a vertical grip. Bought this because of reviews and because you get 2 rails for 10 bucks. They mount up perfectly with my M&P-15 , absolutely no modification needed at all. The rail fits very nicely, very snug, and with the the hand guard feels solid. It's more than I could possibly hope for. Now the bad, when tightening one of the mounting screws, I accidentaly over thightened it and stripped it out. Since it came with two it is all good. If you are looking for a single rail to hold a vertical grip or much of anything, for the $$$ you CAN NOT beat these."

"This is a great cheap alternative to buying expensive quad rails especially when all you want to do is install a vertical grip, and a light on your gun. I mounted mine on my Bushmaster M4A3 Patrolman. I took off my bottom fore-end, took off the heat shield, lined it up, and screwed it on nice and snug. I noticed is that two of the screws that I received were to short, but luckily four came with it. I just used the longest of the four screws, and it was a solid fit with no wobble. It looked great and you should buy it. You can't go wrong here."

"I got these for my dad's DPMS rifle, so he could mount some of the toys w/o the full cost. My experiences/comments mirror SeanR's from 03-25-10; the screws should be the same (longer) length, and had to file down a couple of the baffles inside the handguard for proper alignment. But when it was all said and done it took longer to find my dremel than to do the fix. Once installed, it functions flawlessly. Look, if you're kicking in doors, buy the real deal. But if you're a weekend warrior or just want a grip, light, or laser, then you really can't beat the price and overall quality."

"Well I bought these kind of on a whim. Don't do that. I forgot that on my full size AR-15 that the factory stock handguards have the gas rail on the end closest to the magazine well, where I like to have my vertical foregrip. Needless to say they didn't do what I had thought they would. My mistake though, just be smarter than me! They are of good quality, a little bit heavy since they are solid metal, but sturdy and stay secured in the front half of the handguard."

"Wasn't sure what to expect with these because of the price, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are nicely machined out of solid aluminum to fit the taper on M4-style hand-guards, and they fit very well with the included hardware. Installation is fast and easy, no power tools or anything special. If you have DPMS Glacier-guards, you will have to file the sides of the head of the screw to clear the fins at the front (skinny) end, which takes about 3 minutes of elbow grease. All of the 1913 railed accessories I've tried have went on easy and tightened up solidly. I'll definitely be ordering more when I need them, and would recommend them to a friend."

"These are great they fit my DPMS Oracle perfect. The only problem was the rear mounting screw was a bit short so the solution was to lose the split washer and use a little thread locker instead."

"Wow. I was a bit skeptical, but after reading the reviews I decided to try these. Naturally, I'm on a tight budget and I was amazed at how solid these rails are and how easy they were to install. I did it all by myself. Not bad for a girl! If you don't need four rails, then you will love these. And I love cheaperthandirt.com!"

"These fit perfectly on my S&W MP15. I've attached my foregrip on it and will be mounting a Surefire as well. There is plenty of room available, installation was a breeze, good solid feel and quality."

"These things are great. I only needed one, but now I have a spare for my next rifle. My current rifle came with glacier guards, but instead of using both long screws on one rail, I just did away with the lock washers, and used some thread locker on the ends of the screws. They're rock solid now."

"Bought these for my MP15 Optic Ready carbine. Put one on top and one on bottom of the factory forend. The fit was great and they were easy to install. Beware though, if your interested in putting a front sight on an MP15 OR using this rail, it wont be on the same plane as the rear."

"I mounted one on my Oly AR..easy to do and works fine..you get two sets of screws one set is short and the other is longer and the longer works fine. But if need be a trip to the hardware store and a dollar will get you more screws.."

"It's very hard to beat two rail adapters for $$ bucks. I bought one for my S&W M&P15 and one for my DPMS LR308. They are quite solid and do exactly what they are supposed to. Word of advice, however. You must remove the heat shield (if applicable) to install. The key is that they must install as flush as possible. This was no problem with the S&W but I had to dremel the inside of the LR308's handgrips. Also, I found no use whatsoever for the locking washers that come with it. They only made it impossible to lock it down correctly. Also, plan to use some Loctite to keeps the screws from slipping out. If these had come with instructions to help out with these \"gotchas\" I might have given it 5 bullets."

"For the price you really cant go wrong.I wanted to add a grip and light to my DPMS Oracle 5.56 and didnt want to shell out the cash for a whole new forend, so I ordered 2 of these. There built solid -the only problems are the supplied screws were too short to use with the lock washers ,but if ya toss out the washers and use some Loctite youll be fine. The other issue is on Glacier Guards that come on alot of the DPMS. Youll have to take a Dremel and remove some of the handguards ribbing to get the metal spacer/nut to seat all in all not a big deal and they did what they were supposed to do."

"You simply can't beat these for the money. They installed effortlessly on my DoubleStar upper...opening the box to take them and the mounting screws out took longer than installation. They locked in place and have no play at all, and anything I put on them stays motionless. The sole reason I'm giving 4 bullets and not 5 is because like most others have pointed out, one mounting screw is shorter than the other, and both screws should be the same (longer) length. Not CTD's fault though. A quick trip to the hardware store and a few dimes solved that minor hang-up in no time."

"The fit nice and tight on my bushmater handguards, but... The screws it came with were too short so just go to the hardware store and get those type of bolts in size 10/24 they're like .50 each but other than that its a nice cheap way to get some rails with out spending the big $$$."

"Okay. I gave this four stars because there were no directions and unless you're mechanically inclined you might find it frustrating to assemble, but it really isn't all that bad. However, it did take me some time-I had to read through all the reviews and also do trial and error, and one poster's comments helped me the most. Thank you, PISTOLERO .45 for your comments on 7-1-08! Kudos to Pistolero .45! I was able to mount these securely on my S&W M&P15 Sport with both short and long screws provided. Doesn't matter where or who...Don't let the washer get in the way of the short screw-skip it if necessary. The key is once you have removed the handguards to place the nut flush through the inside of handguard with flat saucer part facing out toward inside of handguard, you then miraculously are able to insert the screw through outside of handguard, insert washer, and screw into the raised portion of the nut. I was disconcerted until I tried this...it all worked out. There is no such thing as a perfect fit for everything but you need not be a mechanical genius to get this done. And don't spend gas and money on nuts and screws-just try and err in positioning and it all eventually makes sense and works out... Best wishes, gents!"

"I bought these for my DPMS Oracle. I fit them on to my original forend. Each piece (top and bottom) comes with two screws, obviously (it would seem) to securely attach these pieces to your fore-end. Sadly, only one hole and screw line up with my forend. This does, however, feel very secure, and my bipod attachment seems to feel secure to this piece. I'm not sure if it's intended for one screw or not, but it does seem to hold. Would have given it a five bullet rating, if it were not for this uncertain feeling."

"Put one on my DPMS LR-308 for a Grip-Pod and will put the other on my S&W M&P15. Holes line up great, but on the inside of the grip, I had to cut a little of the plastic ridge material away on the narrow end, so the flange nut would fit inside nice and flat. Works perfect! Great price, solid construction (aluminum)."

"I put one of these on my RRA LAR-15. They're high quality and I don't expect any issues with them. BUT, as others have said, the screws are too short. Even without the lock-rings, it wouldn't fit. I fixed it by removing the thin metal heat shield inside the handguard. That removed the extra gap that was keeping the screws from reaching the threads. Longer screws would, of course, be an easy fix too. All in all, for the price, I was really happy."

"Great item. Yes, the screws are too short if you attempt to install over the heat shield, which you shouldn't do. Took me 5 minutes to install in 6 easy steps. 1. Make sure weapon is unloaded. 2. Remove hand guards (best with tool, delta ring can be snug). 3. Remove heat shield (carefully with flat head screw driver. 4. Attach rail and screw in. 5. Reattach heat shield. 6. Reattach hand guards. All done!"

"Holes either didn't line up right, or it's just the heat shields on my ArmaLite. Either way, I had to bend the front portion of the aluminum heat shield to make it fit. Wouldn't have been a problem, had the mounting screws been about 1mm longer. Made it work, life is good. 3 of 5 for product. 5 of 5 for CTD."

"Initially, I made the mistake of putting the washer next to the bolt head and the bolts appeared to be too short. Rather than modify the handguard or find longer bolts, I put the washer on top of the nut, and then inserted the bolt through the handguard for a perfect assembly. An enclosed assembly diagram showing this would save frustration.A second option is to use Loctite on the bolt threads and no washer."

"Well made rail, but screws were too short. Took a Dremel and cut the hole in the heat shield slightly larger so the recessed bolt would fit flush on the underside of handguard. Then screws worked."

"Great item. Inexpensive. Gorgeous. Not ready for prime time. I have a DPMS Oracle 16 and a Bushmaster X15-E2S and these didn't work \"out of the box\" with either. I could use a Dremel on the DPMS. I could destroy the integrated heat shield on the Bushmaster. I could go to Home Depot and buy 1/2\" screws. Well, do I scar my equipment or buy longer screws? I go with the screws. Be aware of how the holes line up. Bottom line, this is a great item but it's not ready from prime time simply because the screws are 1/8\" too short."
