"I have been building survival kits and was interested in getting my hands on this box. The advertised features are unique and I thought this would be a good box for small kits for auto/boat use.The box appears well constructed, but it should be noted since it is called a dry box, it is water resistant not waterproof. It is labeled as such inside the box (non-submersible). The compass responds very slowly and does not appear to be mounted flat within the recess. I would not want to rely on it in an emergency. But there is plenty of room inside for a real compass. The signal mirror on the bottom of the case sounded like a great idea. It is a sticker, and mine came with several bubbles in it from poor application. It is very reflective and I'm sure it will do the job but I would have liked to see a little better workmanship and a clear protective coating or layer over the mirror/sticker to prevent surface damage from normal use.Overall, I still think it is an excellent value as long as you are not counting on these features. For this price, compared to some other brands, the box is very roomy and appears durable enough. Just make sure you include a good compass and signal mirror inside your kit."

"it is dfeinatly a box! 4 stars because it is exactly what it says it is. compass and reflector could use some work, but it made a good dry box for storing my fire starting gear and some electronics in my survival bag/BoB. also would be good for keeping papers and things of importance, it has a lock on it which could be wired to a pack frame and locked to keep people out of it."

"Perfect for storing small electronic gear on the outside pouch of your ruck, without fear or having more parts than you started with."

"There is alot of space and should work out well in my bug out bag. It is water resistant not water proof. And the compass on top is a good touch."

"I bought it for my bug out bag and liked it so much bought two more! Three solid clasps keeps it from popping open like some other(expensive) cases I have bought. As others have observed, it is water resistant and waterproof (in a downpour) but do not submerge. The compass and mirror are useless but I did not buy it for those gimmicks. As a stay-dry solid box, it is hard to beat especially at this price! Recommended."

"Overall, 4 bullets. Great clasps that keep it secure, sufficiently rigid construction, two points to use locks, two points for rope for securing to a pack etc, and a great size, not too small and not too big, and made in the US! The cons are that the reflector hardly seems effective, more of a sticker than anything(it is a \"dry box\" so it doesn't matter), and the compass is pretty cheap."

"There's plenty of ways to lash this to the deck of my kayak. It's also large enough to hold my wallet, cell phone, and car keys. But that's about it. It's a nice dry box, but I wouldn't recommend submerging any valuables, but it's good enough to keep rain and paddle splashes out!"

"As Max and EG stated ... I bought this for my kayak or maybe my BOB, I just wanted a good dry box but I'm not so sure this would be waterproof and IMO water resistant isn't \"dry\". I don't think I'd use this on my kayak, I like the dry bags I use now. I'm prob going to put this in my BOB. It may make for a great \"get home kit\" or first aid to keep under your car seat. The clasps seem secure, the quality is nice. I wouldn't bet my life on the compass but its better than nothing. The silver reflective tape on the rear could make for a signal mirror. Best of all .. and you won't believe this ... IT'S MADE IN THE USA!!!I was going to give it 3 stars because I don't think it would be dry if submerged but I am going to +1 star for being made in the USA."
