Attention Surplus and MRE Collectors! Very rare and limited find! We found a few cases of HDR meals. Each case is sealed, and has ultra fresh production dates of 2012.

Each case contains 10 days worth of food for one person. Each sealed pouch contains a whopping 2,200 calories and there are 10 pouches in each case. Each case contains 22,000 calories!

Each pouch includes the following:
2-large entrees
2-packages of crackers
2-packages of spreads or jams
2 deserts
1 snack
1-extra long plastic spoon
1-paper napkin/ toilet paper
1-book of matches
1-moist towelette
1-packet of crushed red pepper (may vary)
1 each-Salt and Pepper.

Some minor contents may vary and entree menu will vary from case to case.

Our troops drop these from cargo planes in the Middle East to help starving civilian populations in the war stricken Middle East.

Each meal includes universal pictorial instructions for eating the food. All wrappers are red, white, and blue and read "Food Gift From the People of the United States of America".

HDRs are a spin-off of MREs. They were developed as a means of feeding large populations of displaced persons or refugees under emergency conditions.

A single HDR is designed to provide a full day's sustenance to a moderately malnourished individual (as opposed to MREs, where you need three per day to feed a soldier in the field).

HDRs also differ from MREs in that they contain no animal products or by-products so as to be acceptable to a wide range of consumers with religious and dietary restrictions. Each HDR contains 2200 calories.

These are fresh, current production with many years left before expiration. All food items are non returnable.

"Just got my first case of these. I read up on them at http://www.mreinfo.com/hdrs.html (lot of cool info here about all kinds of MREs)This is the freshest MRE type food I have ever had. The crackers were crisp, and the deserts still tasted sweet and moist. I was a little leary because of the price, but once I got them-you truly get what you pay for."

"Packaged same as field MRE's - tough outer plastic pouch. These are not civilian imitation military rats."

"What they are supposed to be. Newer Mfg. packs do not jibe with MREinfo.com info on internals for earlier mfg. cases/menu's. No problems with the Ameriqual case I got. Two each of the five different menu's in case. Highly recommend for hunting trip. This is a 24 hour ration pack. No meat, but very filling. Add slim jims, if you need meat. That is all."
