"I travel a lot (Asia, africa, Middle East, Europe) so my taste buds have been exposed to a lot of strange sensations. When people ask me what my favorite food is I usually say \"whatever I'm eating at the moment.\" I'm not too hard to please when it comes to food. This wasn't bad. Better than Mountain House and much better that Wise Foods. An advantage of MREs is that you don't need to add water and they can be eaten without heating them up though they don't taste as good cold. I don't know how Wise Foods or Mountain House dried foods can be eaten without 1. Water and 2. a way to boil the water. Looking into the package you see hard, dry, 'objects' and powdery material. Without adding boiling water would choke you in my opinion. I know they aren't intended to be eaten that way but if you are in a tough spot without extra water an/or a way to boil it you are going to have a hard time eating dried foods."

"After a recent snow storm and power outtage, I made the choice to start looking for some survial only food. This is where I ended up. The Chicken Black Bean entree taste amazing when nice and warm, probably adequate when cold. 5 years shelf life in cool conditions. I keep these in my gun safe in the garage. My heaters are old and didn't heat them worth a turd but a pot of boiling water and 5 mins works wonders. Getting other flavors soon plus the crackers. Well worth it."
