"When I first got my order, I took one out of its MRE cardboard pouch right away and took a bite; no salt, no A-1 or H '57, not even a pants pocket McD ketchup packet - nothing - and then tried to wash it down with salty, tepid water. Sometimes a soldier has to eat some sand or mud for seasoning. Brother, as I type here about out-of-the pack cold eating, as is, you had better have some Tony Chachere's Cajun Seasoning. If you don't, trade it.Having said that, and since I had 10 boxes of them on the kitchen table, and I already had one opened with a big bite out of it, I just plopped it in the toaster like a Pop-Tart and put some sauce on it. Brother, what a difference - seriously. It was absolutely great. Just a little salt and H-57. It was excellent :-) Now, I know a toaster's not always available, but a quick, small, hot fire and a quick pan-fry will have you eating as good of a chopped steak as you'll ever get out of a pouch. I rate it a definite thumbs up."

"For being an MRE, these are pretty tasty. Like the previous reviewer recommends, you should definitely try to have some sort of sauce with them. I personally prefer just a little touch of BBQ sauce, but they're small, easily carried, and are a nice change of pace from the usual MRE meal fare. Two of these make a great lunch out in the field, and only a moron would turn their nose up to these in an emergency!"

"I've done C Rations, LRPs and MREs, so field meals are nothing new to me. NO, this ain't no Big Mac, but it goes down pretty well with some rice or potatoes. A thumbs up from me!"
