"Let's see if I've got this right...I received my product March 19, 2011. Lot# 9195 means it was manufactured June something of year 2009. Use by date of 12195 means best if used by June of 2012. That means my product is good for approximately one year, 3 months from now. I know about MRE's, maybe they're good for a period of time way beyond the \"best if used by\" date but I think I'll look for fresher product next time."

"I hate to sound like a doomsday preparer. If I were, a smarter expenditure of money would be on food storage that would last for more than a few months! A regular old can of food from the grocery store, if stored properly, is good for 20 years. Oh, well. It's my fault I didn't ask before I ordered. The description led me to believe, with a statement like, \"meals that will last and last until you need them,\" would mean that it would last a lot longer than 26 months. NOT! The box was manufactured on the 91st day of 01, and the use by date is 04-01-2014. That's right, April Fools Day, on 2014. I love cheaper than dirt, but now I know to ask some questions the next time I buy food."

"The box gives an expiration of 2014, so that's longer than the other two reviewers mentioned. In the past, these MREs have tasted OK. Even my kids will eat them. Watch out for FedEx, however, as they love to abuse the boxes. I had to repackage all of mine."
