The Mossberg 500 Tactical Persuader is one the best home defense shotguns available.

Mossbergs Model 500 is one of the most well-known shotgun lines in modern history for both its defensive capabilities and its accessible price point. The Persuader holds up to five shots (plus one chambered) and its 18.5" cylinder choke barrel fires a wide shot spread that intruders will have a hard time evading. Its short barrel length and simple front bead sight allow for fast, responsive aiming and easy tracking.

The Persuader Shotguns synthetic stock keeps the firearm lightweight and the collapsible stock provides the optimum length of pull for comfort and control. The addition of the pistol grip provides a natural grip and helps bring the shotguns feel more in line with the AR platform. With the addition of a forearm strap and ambidextrous five-shot shell holder, shooters will have both increased control and quick access to extra firepower.

Leading by example since 1919, Mossberg continually introduces innovative, dependable firearm designs that become the new standard to beat. Though most famous for their array of specialized shotguns, this company also produces a large number of other firearms, including rifles and pistols. Mossberg strives to meet every shooters needs with top-quality products at affordable prices.

A great addition to this shotgun, especially for low light situations, is a red dot or holographic sight. We have dozens of high-performance options right here at Cheaper Than Dirt! Also, make sure you get plenty  of 12-gauge ammunition so that you have enough to practice and become comfortable with your new Mossberg.
