"This barrel is a cheap alternative to a full muzzleloader but still allows for late hunting where high power rifles aren't allowed. Power is limited to 90 grains of pyrodex, but it's pretty accurate with 348 gr Powerbelts. Enjoy"

"I have found this barrel very effective when used with a hornady 44cal. .430 240gr hp/xtp and hornady 50 caliber sabot and 90 grains ffg."

"I have bought and still use this barrel, and it is as accurate as any $600.00 remington BDL 700. All the newer black powder guns will fire both patch round ball or the new sabots, using poured powder or the new pellets. I have shot this barrel on my mossberg 500 pump and found it to be a real pleasure. Act now they are getting hard to find and Mossberg stop producing them from what I've read the only thing I would say to help is a palm saver for the ramrod."

"I bought this barrel a few yrs ago as an inexpensive way to get into muzzleloading. I really like it. I changed the sights to fiber opitics which helped. The slug barrel came with the scope attached so when you remove the barrel you loose the scope. So I recently bought a scope mount that attaches to the side of the gun so I can mount a scope with the muzzleloader barrel and then remove it for the slug barrel. This barrel is accurate out to 150 yrds. with 90 or 100 grs of triple 7 or Goex and 245 or 270 AT Powerbelts. I experimented with heavier conicals and wasn't happy. This year I took a doe at 60 yrds with the iron sights. There is no removable breech plug and you cant use the new Blackhorn powder. If you like simple, fundamental and accurate this is an excellent choice."

"I received one of these as a gift a few years ago. It's deadly with 3-30gr Triple 7 pellets and a 240gr .45 XTP sabot. Blowback from around the primer does blacken the bolt face and other parts in the action, making it important to strip down and clean all the internal parts thoroughly. My only complaint is that there's no removable breech plug, but since this is my first inline, I could care less. Tight lines!"

"Got this.. excellent option to get more versatility out of my 500A. Uses #209 primers for ignition. Be aware! will only fit the shorter magazine tubes. Not the standard 500 Pursuader or 590 tubes. I had to get an aftermarket standard cap tube in order to use this. Not a big deal... just something you sould be aware of."
