"I am sure there are better packs out there...but not at this price. I own several of these and keep them packed for different uses. My gear is always ready to go no matter what type of activity I'm involved in. I have one loaded for deer hunting, one for turkey, one for scouting, one for emergencies. Saves me time, and they saved me money."

"I bought this for a backpacking trip, and I've used it two times. Both times I was carrying about 40 lbs or so and had items tied to the straps. Pack holds up well under pressure, the only drawback is that there isn't padding for the waist strap, but for 15 bucks this back is definetly a good buy!"

"After buying packs from CTD I felt that a $15 pack would be just good for my med-kit, however after seeing the pack and useing it I find it to even be better then some of the $40 plus packs. My friend Rob who works with me at Shoprite buy things from CTD for those just in case times. He himself couldn't even believe how great the pack was. In all this is the greatest pack I have ever owned. So go and Buy it before CTD runs out of stock."

"Good for the price, I have two, will buy more, PFC USMC 0311, know what it takes to carry stuff. Buy a case just in case but leave some for me."

"Great deal for the money. You'll want more than one."

"Ordered 5 of the used German military OD green packs (this one is the commercial equiv. in black). For the $$ spent on how durable & roomy this pack it = excellent value. Fairly comfortable once I added a folded 6'x8' camo tarp in the internal slot/pouch, kinda acts like a frame of sorts, and a shelter if ya need it. Great for building a bug out bag or use it around town or in the hills."

"This pack is cheap and versitile, but could be better. Needs to have more external pockets, and definatly needs a sternum support. There are D rings on the top flap wich is conveinient for a sleeping bag but it wouod be ride better with a thicker waistbelt and a sternum strap."

"Previous poster mentioned no sternum strap, well I have a easy fix for him/her. Add fastex buckles to the shoulder straps, the part you pull on to adjust for a tighter fit, adjust buckles as necassary for your chest size, \"clip\" and you are good to go with your new sternum strap. I've done this on several packs with excellent success. HTH"

"I took one of these little beauties to the Boundary Waters with me for a kayak camping tour, 4 days. The Bag held all of my camp gear comfortably. Slipped easily under the rear deck of the boat making portages easy. I even got a compliment or two on my good-looking little black bag. The trip was rainy, but with a thorough coating of fabric sealing spray the bag performed very, very well. The heavy rubber coated bottom was especially appreciated. I'd give 5 stars but the shoulder straps and waist belt aren't the most comfortable/efficient. Beyond that, this is the bag I'll continue to use, along with a nylon shoulder bag for food & extras. A great buy for the price!"

"Excellent quality, thick material, and the rubberized bottom is greathaven't used it extensively yet, but I will use it alot backpacking/fishing this Summer. The backpack has a map case on the inside against the back, and has several attachment points for gear or further strapping. I ordered this back when it was 15 dollars, but it is still well worth the $20. My only complaint is the shoulder and waist straps could be more comfortable, and the lack of a sternum strap.Other then that, I recommend this pack to anyone looking for an affordable backpacking or heavy hiking pack.4 bullets, easy."

"Surprisingly good stuff, keeping in mind its price. I used it for a number of kayaking and hiking trips and never had even a shred of a disappointment. It held all my camping gear including a portable tent heater and a few gas canisters. Amazing! Should\uFFFDve ordered two when they were 15 bucks."

"I bought this backpack back in high school when my other packs would rip apart. In high school and now in college i carry between 20 and 30 pounds in books on a daily basis. I have had this backpack for 4 years and it looks as good as when i got it."

"I see that these packs are no longer currently in stock, and I'm very glad I bought one while they were. I don't think you can buy a better pack for the price. I only wish I had bought more than one while they were available."

"I bought one of these and will buy more. Using it for a quick bug-out bag and fits enough bare essentials to get by for a couple days. Exactly what I intend it/want it for. Made decent enough and rubberized. For what I want to use it for I'm not looking to make a fashion statement. Function is what this will do for you."

"This is a great bag for the price, it holds all my gear, and modified it with some simple drawstring to hod my tent and sleeping bag on the outside, and its still comfy to wear. I bought it to use as a bug out bag."

"This is a very solid and rugged back. I should also mention the storage capacity is rather HUGE. Overall, very much worth the $ I paid. I use it at work to hold my HAZMAT gear, maps, medical supplies, extra clothing, etc. It gets tossed around (I've been through 2 other bags already) and has held up well. My only complaint (the reason it didn't get 5 stars) is that buckles are cheap plastic that don't always snap together properly. Otherwise, great buy and I'll probably be back for another."

"The bag has plenty of storage space and is very well constructed. The only complaint is the shoulder straps are lacking in quaility. In all, this is a great bag for the price."

"A great pack for the price. Well worth the price, but like others have said the clips are cheap plastic and arent perfect. Plently of storage and would make a great bugout bag or secondairy camping pack."

"This backpack is worth more than the price! It is well made and tough. Looks like it will last many years."

"Great pack design done in canvas, I am happy with it. Very simple and \"No Frills\" layout with a laptop sleeve pouch in the main compartment down the inside where the pack rests on your back. As has been stated in previous reviews, this makes a great B.O.B. foundation, I will be ordering more to use for that very thing. What I really would like to see is an exact copy of this pack offered in 1000 Denier ballistic nylon, and some loops sewn in to attach it to an ALICE pack frame. So what if it cost more, the design and ballistic nylon would be worth it. I am sure CTD would sell those like mil-surp bullets! ;) ;)"

"I purchased this bag three years ago and have used it when I have gone deep sea fishing and hunting. This is one very useful, well constructed little backpack!"

"I owned the German surplus backpack that this is a copy all through high school and I loved it. It had no bells or whistles, it was just a sturdy reliable backpack. I lost it somewhere when I was moving around the last few years and have always wanted to replace it. I ordered this one online yesterday night and it got to me in Arkansas at 2 pm the next day, even though I only selected UPS ground. Thanks Cheaper Than Dirt! This backpack is exactly the same as the one I had before, so I know it will stand up to anything I throw at it. I did use my old one for 4 years as an everyday school backpack and camping/partying almost every weekend. If you want a cheap-but-not-cheaply-made backpack that will last you a lifetime, this is it."

"I took a chance on this bag. I am a martial arts instructor and I needed a new bag to carry my uniform, water bottle/s, towel, paperwork, etc... The bag I had been using was getting worn out. I liked the fact that my old bag had a carry handle on top, and was hoping this one did as well... It does! It carries everything I need and then some. Well built.. You probably won't get better for this price. Oh...It looks much, much better in real life. CTD did a great job finding these and getting one to me ASAP! Thanks again CTD!!!"

"I purchased this pack on a slight whim along with other items. My thinking was to use it as luggage to move from VA to CT, then shelve it. Three weeks later, I was in need of a pack to carry my EMS equipment to and from the rescue house. This filled the role perfectly. I have since used it extensively in trips to NJ. It is clearly not a heavy-duty hiking pack, but for lighter work, it has served me well. The straps are quite well padded, which I was surprised by it. If you are in need of a basic, durable travel pack, I cannot recommend this enough. I will be footing it across Ukraine in a month, and will be taking this as my day bag, I have complete faith in it."

"Finally, a backpack that might survive my teenage son! The pack is nicely made, love the rubber bottom and lining. Good straps but buckles are plastic, but still not bad. Small interior pocket and the two exterior pockets you see pictured. The pack is smaller than I thought but still holds a lot! Wish it had placement for a frame but at this price, I'm not complaining. My son loved it and filled it with school gear right away. My wife liked the pack too. So I might be buying two more. Thanks CTD!"
