"After comparison with two other brands of bolt on free float rails (Troy & Ergo), I decided on the Midwest brand because of cost factors ($50 cheaper) and reputation. The product is just as described with extremely solid lockup and little additional weight. Rail gives my S&W M&P 15 a monolithic look, color and rail height are spot on. Initially was concerned about cutting away delta ring but it was very easy with the aid of a Dremel and proper cutting disc. Way to go CTD ordered on Thursday received Saturday afternoon!"

"This is a great handguard just as good as others that cost much more. Easy install on my stag model 8. Go to MI website for a great step by step via youtube, they show to do install this on a DI gun but same steps I used for my gas piston the only other thing I had to do is shave off two small notches on the piston rod holder that kept the handguard from completely going on easy to do with a dremel."

"Just received this handrail today. First off, it doesn't tell you that you need a regular barrel nut. Had a free float barrel nut prior and had to change it out. Secondly, there were minor scratches right out of the box, which is the least of my worries. Last, but not least, this says it will work with the CMMG piston system, which it does BUT there's a 1/4\" gap from the gas block to the end of the rail and it looks tacky as hell. I think if you're going to design something to work with another system, make sure it looks professional. My next review will be with CMMG."

"Received and installed the MI Gen2 handguard today. It was very simple to install. Mates up perfectly to my M&P. It's rock solid and looks great on my AR. It took me 3 days to decide which rail I wanted to purchase. I made the right choice and will purchase another."

"I did a lot of research before buying my new handguard and chose this one. This product is an excellent FF Rail for the money. First, installation is VERY easy with a Dremel tool with a small cutting wheel. All you have to do is cut off the delta ring and spring pack and snap ring. This process takes maybe 2 min. If you accidentally ding the barrel nut, it will not hurt anything and once you install the rail, no one will ever know. Then just bolt it on. I bought the carbine length for my Stag Model 2 and it lined up and fit perfectly! Looks like it came factory installed with it. There is absolutely no play or flex in this handguard. Mounted my Aimpoint on it with a foregrip, sighted it in, fired 150 rounds, and was still shooting my 1-1.5\" groups at 100 yards with ease. It weighs about the same as the factory plastic handguard. There is NO reason to spend more than what I paid for this handguard to get a quality product."

"Got this for my Stag model 1 matches the rifle to the T looks like it came that way. Easy to install and is very light. I have a Troy Ind MFR on my Sig Sauer m400 and this is lighter. I have a Colt with a Knights Arm. Just like i had in the Marines and it's lighter and for half the cost. great buy"
