"I didn't want to carry 5 or 10 different keys for different guns--or forget my keys. It is simple to reset the combination on this lock to one of your own choice. I can set all the locks the same, and only have to remember one combination. It fits the trigger guard on several different guns that I own. Your gun needs a trigger guard for this lock to work (i.e. piece of metal or plastic that curves around in front of the trigger to reduce the risk of accidental firing. Nearly all guns have such a guard but a few don't). It would probably take a much more expensive lock to be better. I can envision such a lock, with more expensive machining (which is why I gave this one only 4 bullets), but for the price one can't do better."

"A heavy, well made lock and a bargain at ten bucks. My only complaint is that at about 2.5+ inches it is too wide for the usual manufacturer's plastic case that handguns come in. If you keep your guns in a larger case or gun safe this is a non-issue."

"Nice not to need a bunch of keys. Combo is easy to set/change and the tumblers move easily. The lock is a little bulky but it should be harder to defeat than the standard locks that come with many guns. Something to think about - you may still be able to chamber a round in your gun since this just locks the trigger."
