"I liked the idea but it just doesn't pan out in practice. First, even when using a 20 rd mag in the handle it hangs lower than a 30 rd mag installed in the mag well. That's quite a bit of extra gear hanging off the front. Also the size of the grip just really doesn't work for me. All of this could conceivably still been ok if it hadn't been for the fact that it's next to impossible to efficiently remove the magazine. The mag does not fall free when the release button is pushed and the way it is situated you couldn't even push the button while holding the handle with your left hand and yank with your right (which even then would put the mag in the 'wrong' hand. The only way I could really get it out was to hold the handle in my right (trigger) hand, with the rifle resting along my arm, wrap my fingers around the grip to push the mag release and at the same time yank with my left hand. Needless to say I looked like a horse's butt standing on the line with my instructor yelling at me wanting to know what the hell I was doing."

"works great only if you use the plastic coated mags and not the standard gi mags"

"It slipped onto the rail up to the quick release catch which had some excess material molded onto it and would not clear the rail even when depressed very hard. Some work with a small rat-tail file on the excess plastic allowed things to clear smoothly. No big deal, and it looks super-cool w/ the xtra magpul on my Smith 15T. Just be sure to use the xtra locking screw to keep it from wobbling a little. These guys may be cheaper than dirt, but they are also quicker than stink. Order placed last Thur nite 3/12, got it this aft, Sat 3/14."

"Not what I was expecting. Thought It'd look cool, but every way I put it, it still looked wierd and awkward and now it just sits on top of the gun safe."
