These are extremely high quality magazines, made exactly like original Underwood 30 round magazines. They are marked with a "UU" on the back side, just like the originals.

These are the nicest, most accurate reproduction mags we have ever seen. Workmanship is superb, with a no tilt follower. Made in Korea.

This magazine, as well as original G.I. magazines, may not function in Universal carbines, due to differences in the magazine catches and dimensional differences.

"I ordered 5 of the 15rd and 5 of the 30rd. All arrived extremely FAST and each one was still sealed in original Korean wrapping. All magzines were in mint, brand new consition. All magazines fit & function perfectly in my Underwood M1. I highly recommend these magazines!!"

"Came sealed in in a paper bag and is excellent quality. I had 3 failures to feed 2 of which I had to pull the bolt back a little and let it forward and one where it didn't load at all. Both of which I'm almost positive came from the gun and the ammunition I was using."

"These came still sealed in the original paper wrapper. All magzines were in mint, brand new condition. I bought 3 of them and all are of excellent quality and finish. I have an Universal M-1 carbine and they fit perfectly, but tightly. One requires me to slap it up into place in order for it to latch fully. I noticed that these clips will hold the bolt open after the last round. My previous clips did not do that, but that may have been from heavy use (my old mag's are 30 years old).In any event, these are outstanding clips, of the highest quality.. buy them now."

"Ordered 2 30 rounders and 2 fifteen rounders. All worked flawlessly the first time out. Loaded easily, inserted into carbine fully loaded with bolt closed without a problem. Fed first round to last without a hickup. Follower shape on 30 rounders holds the bolt open after last shot (15 rounders have a rounded follower that doesn't hold bolt open.) Great product at any price!"

"GOD BLESS THOSE KOREANS! These mags are the BEST I've seen for the M1 Carbine. I have four of these, and I plan to double up. They won't break your bank, and they work exceptionally well for my Inland '43. Great value, great performance, great mags. Get 'em before the Obamanation pisses on the 2nd Amendment even more."

"I have 3 of these, they are great. Well made & work great with my Underwood WW2 carbine. I would have to say they are far better mag's than the original 15 round mag, that was in my rifle when I bought it. My carbine is very old- 1940 and well used, no problem with these mag's. The original jams, but not these. Thanks CTD."

"I bought one of these mags a week ago. Great price, and great customer reviews right? Wrong! It came new just as stated, was well made but the Underwood mag didn't fit my United Firearms .30 carbine well at all. The mag locked in fine but was loose and out of the 30 rounds in the mag I shot- 25 missfired. Do yourself a favor, match the mag MANUFACTURER to your .30 carbine. (Manufacturer marks are on the bottom of the mags!) The mag that came with it (Inland Manufacturing Division) works flawlessly...100 rounds and counting."

"I bought two of these for my M1 from Auto Ordinance. It fit very well , cycled through very smoothly, actually better than the 15 round factory mag that came with it. I plan on getting a couple more. Excellent buy, hands down!!"

"I bought one of these mags last fall. First I had some extraction problems, AKA stovepipe etc., but I cleaned the dirt and gunk from behind the extractor. My Inland functioned flawlessly, so that shows that the bolt must be cleaned to prevent malfunctions. You can't go wrong with these mags. Function and Price is A-1!!!"

"These are some of the best carbine mags you are going to find. The metal work is very smooth and seamless, the followers seem to be anti-tilt, and the finish is great. I have an Inland WW2 vintage carbine as well as a 90's Iver Johnson and these mags fit both guns the way you would expect. They load easy holding all 30 rounds without a fight, you know what I mean, and insertion and removal from the rifle is smooth. I would say these are as good as if not better than my Charles Daly mags, and those were really made by Colt. Don't buy the crap mags that cost more, if you have a carbine these are the way to go."
– RobMP123

"Bought four of these based on the reviews, expecting they would maybe work. I loaded each with a 10-round stripper clip and went through all 40 rounds without a single bobble. Loaded one at random all the way up with 30 rounds and let my grandson commit gallon-jug-icide. Not a single failure. And this from a very well 'seasoned' (read: worn-out) Universal (almost) smoothbore! These are of the same military quality I remember from service on the DMZ in the 60's."

"Ordered two of these for my '43 Carbine. Both load up well, although if fully loaded, the first couple rounds have some trouble feeding. All in all, high quality construction though, and they have the flat back on the follower to hold the bolt back when fired until empty, so you can easily see when you're out."

"These mags are great, no question I will be ordering more. I have a badly worn IBM Carbine I had to slightly bend the mags on the right lip for proper feeding. These things are fantastic!"
– Erik Neilson

"These carbine mags work great in my National Postal Meter. No fail to feeds, no jams. Fit well in the receiver, not too tight, not to loose. Did not have to modify the mag. And the bolt locks back, and having the bolt lock on the last shot is great. The mags come in a brown papper wrapper, looking new. Nice black finished metal. I'm impressed with these mags, good stuff, Rates 5 stars for function and cost. Save your USGI mags and use these."

"This is in regards to a previous review, I compared these carbine mags to Charles Daily which was incorrect. The Colt owned company in question was Jay Scott, which made good carbine mags. These mags are just as good, have had no issues as of yet, a good buy."
– RobMP123

"Bought a couple of these 30 rd mags along with 3 of the 15 round mags for my Iver Johnson carbine.Fit great, locked in just like it was supposed to, feeding and ejecting were very good only a couple of failures and I think those could have been ammo related. Seemed to do better if not fully loaded (28 vs 30). Held bolt open on last round eveytime. I feel these are the best value of any I have used. I plan to get more."

"I bought one of these from CTD and then sent off for what I thought would be a really quality made 30 round magazine a Fulton Armory for three times the price and guess what they were the same magazines exactly. So, I went back to Cheaper Than Dirt and order five more then countacted all my friends that had M-1 Carbines what happened then showed them the two magazines and that sealed the deal for all of them on the 30 round magazines."
– RegularJoe

"This magazine worked without a hitch in my National Postal Meter M1 Carbine. So far I have fired 100 rounds through this particular magazine. The finish is very deep, however, so it's a little tight in the mag well, but it should wear in over time. I plan to buy more."

"Locks in great with my Inland, and has a nice looking, low-friction finish. My only complaint is they seem to have rather weak, alloy base plates. After loading a magazine to 30 rounds, the rear portion of the plate started to bow downwards within a day of storage. Yikes!!! I am going to download all of them to 28 from now on just in case..."

"Bought two mags and I just received them. The quality seems to be good. I own an Iver Johnson carbine and the magazines have to be pushed hard to lock into place. They can still be removed with a little force. I wonder if after many uses they will fit better. I also bought four 15 rounds mags and they fit perfect on my Iver Johnson. I give the 15 rounds mags five bullets rating."

"GREAT mags. I ordered two a while ago and have been having so much fun with them I forgot to write a review until now! First off, the mags look great. Terrific finish. I have never had a failure to feed with these mags, and they hold the bolt open on the last round which is a plus. They do fit a bit tight and don't drop free but that is so minor it's not worth taking a bullet away for."

"These appear to be well made. I bought one and visually it compares favorably with the GI issue 15 round magazines I picked up at the CMP store. It also dropped freely when depressing the magazine release. I have the new Auto Ordinance carbine.I loaded it with 28 rounds ammo and two snap caps so I could check feeding before heading to the range. It seemed to feed OK when I cycled the action but... I pressed the magazine release to drop it while it still had 28 rounds in it. It landed on my carpet and jammed. I emptied it and examined it to see where it was jammed. The tab on the bottom of the follower was stuck between the base plate and the back strap. When I pushed it up, it flew out of the magazine along with the spring. I reassembled the magazine, but now it will hold only 28 rounds and won't feed reliably. I'll have to fiddle with it some.Someone else (cc19) commented on weak base plates. They are steel, but mine was bent down at the back, perhaps the follower bent it. Also the back plate was bent. I was able to straighten out both by taping with the plastic handle of a screwdriver.I'd return this, but after paying return postage, it wouldn't be worthwhile. I'll just chalk it up to experience.I'll be buying ProMag for now on. For something I expect to use a lot, they're not that much more expensive. They're American made by a company that has a reputation to protect, not an unknown Korean company that's competing on price."

"I've used 10 of these in both of my A-O M1 Carbines firing around 750 rounds with zero malfunctions! These are very reliable and durable mags! I've thrown them in the dirt, stepped on them and left them loaded to capacity for months at a time with again, zero malfunctions!!! Great buy!!!"

"I just purchased two 30 rd and one 15 rd mags and I'm very happy. Took only two days to get along with the ammo. The mags were new, wrapped well, and were blued, not painted as a previous reviewer stated. Not sure how that happened, but I'm glad on my end. Loaded them all up and waiting for shooting day. I will let you know how they did in action. That's why just 4 bullets right now."

"If you are looking for a 100% authentic 30 rd magazine for your vintage USGI M1 Carbine, then this item is probably not for you. Genuine military surplus units are still available for 30 to 40 dollars each. If you are looking for an absolutely perfectly functional high capacity magazine for your commercially-built M1 shooter, then look no further. This is a fantastic product for the money. I will get more to go along with the one I ordered to try out. GET SOME."

"Took the new mags out the other day and I was not let down. The mags fed flawlessly. Pushed the mag release and out they came. Had good springs, loaded well, and fit into my Postal Meter M1 just fine. I will be purchasing more in the near future. Don't let the price scare you. They are cheap in price but not performance!"
– John

"These magazines are high-quality and feed very well for 30 round M1 Carbine mags. One thing needs to be noted, however: not all M1s are built to support the weight of a 30 rounder. After experiencing a number of FTF malfunctions in my Plainfield M1, but only in the first 1/3-to-1/2 of my mag, I knew that something was off regarding the mag. As it turns out, applying pressure upward and rearward to the mag reduced the malfunctions drastically. The moral of the story? If your rifle can handle the weight, these are a superb choice. If you're not sure, then at this price, you can likely afford to find out. Just don't blame a fine magazine for a weakness in the mag catch."

"I have bought six of these mags and have no regrets! In my GI issued M1, they have worked extremely well and I am sticking with them. I see mags at the gun shows for $20-40 all the time, but my money is better spent here, where I can max out my buying power! Have and will buy more!"

"The magazine that I received is loose in the magazine well. The bolt hangs on it, even without a round in the magazine. It is a piece of junk. Do not waste your money. FYI- this is the only review I have ever done. I felt it was my duty to warn you. Thank goodness I only bought one and it was cheap."

"Obviously, there are a lot of .30 carbines out there and different models are going to be a little different. I have an Iver Johnson and the mags wouldn't fit tight. They failed to feed several times. The bullet would get stuck half way up the feed ramp. However, if I held the magazine forward at the bottom, it fed perfectly. So, I drilled a hole in the front of the mag, directly across from the rear ears. I then took a small punch and stuck it in the hole hitting it lightly to put and indention directly below the ears. This made the magazine tight and helped to keep it tilted up toward the feed ramps. Most of the mags function now. The 20 rd did not ever feed right, and in my opinion, it's trash."

"I searched around for mags that would work in my old Universal. Tried two sources, one I could not get to work at all, and one that only worked after I tweaked it a lot. I found these at a gun show and they worked great. Bought a couple more from CTD for half what I paid at the gun show. Obviously, there are a lot of different M1 Carbines, and some may not like these mags. But, for me, they work great and are the only ones I have found that do work in my Universal."

"After reading other reviews of this product, I purchased six of them for my Inland M1 Carbine. The only complaint I have is that when I received them, two of them didn't function at all! I opened them up, and found two followers inside, which was jamming them up. It was an easy fix, and now they all work without any problems. The extra followers were in excellent shape, and are now in two of my old mags, so it's a win-win for me. Thanks again, CTD, and thanks Korea for the screw up. Now I have eight reliable mags."

"I'd like to write a bad review to make sure there are some left for me, but I won't. It is so hard to find 30 rd mags that fit my Universal. These do and well. I don't know why the description warned against it when these work perfectly."

"These jokers are impressive. I don't know or care where they are acutally manufactured, I care they work. not a single jam or bind up in my US Postal Meter carbine. Of course, it also helps that they are very inexpensive."

"I don't care if these are orignals, copies, have stamps or proof marks, or whatever... they work great. they are solid in construction and the feeding is excellent. I'd heard that a lot of 30 rounders for carbines don't feed well, but this one is like a dream."

"I bought only one of these 30 rd. mags just to try out in my 1960s Plainfield Machine Co. M1-Carbine. I wasn't sure if it would work in my particular rifle type. "Ordered 5 mags. The price is unbeatable and these things are solid. I checked the M1 Carbine forums and found these are recent aftermarkets, made exactly to the original 30 round mag standards. They work flawlessly in my Plainfield M1 which was jamming on older aftermarket mags. Don't forget to instal an M2 magazine catch if you're going to shoot 30 rounders. Semper Fi!"
