"I ordered 10 of these thinking that some of them may be junk, but I was pleasantly surprised to find them in pretty good condition. All of them had minor rust that wiped off easily after spraying with a little oil. 8 of them fit my CETME perfectly...the other two I sold to a friend of mine before I got them home to try them out (I'm sure they would have fit just as well) All of the ones I rercieved were dated between 1961 and 1963."

"Just bought 3 magazines, two of them had rust on them, all three look pretty haggard. They've been around the block. All of them fit tight in my cetme and for $4 a piece I can't really complain. The aluminum mags are much cleaner but most of them don't fit in my cetme so modification is required."
5.0 5
"Couldn't at first believe these were steel mags for less than 4 bucks. Bought 10 on a whim, figured not much to lose. Mags had light coat of rust that wiped right off with Clenzoil. Followers are chrome plated and look real good. Fit is great in my HK-91 and so far, all have worked great. I only had two that had any appreciable wear, most I would have to rate as Very Good plus. All are dated early 60's, marked G3. Great buy."

"i got 2 of these mags with my last order.........1 had minor surface rust & the other was a bit dirty................they both claened up nicely & work great!!!!............i will be buying more on my next order!!!"
5.0 5
"For less than 6 bucks, these are a deal. I ordered 4 on a whim and I'm glad I did. The description says \"used\" but the 4 I got were in unissued condition, with one still even in the factory wrapper. They all did have a minor amount of surface rust, but as other reviewers have noted, this easily cleans off with some fine steel wool and a little oil, though you will still most likely see \"ghost\" spots on the parkerizing where the spots were, not that that will affect function in any way. These are great mags. The steel ones are heavier than the alloy versions, yes, but they are built like a tank (Panzer, I guess, being German) and are much more rugged. If you remember the \"bad old days\" of the 80s where HK91 mags were as scarce as hen's teeth and very expensive, do yourself a favor and get a few of these while they're cheap."

"BOUGHT TWO. ONE WAS BRAND NEW. THE OTHER A LITTLE WORN, BUT FINE. PRETTY GOOD FOR 6 BUCKS A PIECE."
5.0 5
"I ordered 15 of these and am very satisfied. Most are in very good shape, some are like new/unissued. Only a few were sort of rough, but as stated they are used. So far the ones I have tried fit in my PTR-91 just fine.I highly recommend these."
4.0 5
"These were great magazines, especially for the price. They are significantly sturdier than the aluminum magazines that are also available. When I received them, they were slightly rusty, but I worked on them with nothing but super fine steel wool, and it came right off. The four I bought were all '61-'63 and after I worked on them, they almost looked new. I would buy them again in a heartbeat if I had to do it over again."
5.0 5
"Figured that I'd better get these while they were still available. Since they were \"used\" I ordered 20 of them figuring that I'd probably get a few pretty good ones and use the others for parts to re-build the ones that were a little more than \"used\". Out of the 20 that I got 16 showed no wear at all, not even receiver marks where they had even been put in the rifle!! The other 4 had slight marking showing receiver installation, but I really mean \"slight\". They all showed some storage wear but only on the followers and it polished off very easily. To bad CTD doesn't have a 10 bullet rating because this is what I would give them!!!"

"Good ol steel mags that you will not regret buying."

"Inside of both mags where covered with rust, as well as the springs and upper lip. No preservative or oil to protect them found anywhere. Your better off spending your money on new factory sealed mags that you can count on."
3.0 5
"I bought 6, I had to paint 2 and 1 was bent at the top where the feed lips are, can't complain for the price, ill stick with the alum. g3 magazines"
4.0 5
"bought a few of these, and they were great. finish was good for a used mag, functioned flawlessly. only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star is the price. yes, its a great price for a g3 steel mag, but can't beat the price of the aluminum ones for much less."
5.0 5
"Ordered 4 and all were like new. 3 in the original wrappers. Found that PB Drylube is the ideal for this type of magazine. 200 rds expended, bore clear, no jams. May pick up a few more....CTD comes through again....."
5.0 5
"Purchased 30 mags, 16 looked new, the rest graded from light use to heavy. Fired rounds through all mags and only had problems with 2, 1 loose in the mag well, the other spring wore out. Very good buy and will buy more. Sold 5 to a guy at the range for 25 bucks, so now I can buy more. Thanks CTD!"
5.0 5
"Wow! I already have a bunch of G3 mags but who can pass this up. I like the steel ones best. I ordered 10 figuring if I get at least 3 new ones it would be like getting them for $10 a piece. I got 3 new in the wrapper! 2 were like new, 1 was excellent 3 were very good and 1 was good. The good one was the only one with any rust and it is very slight. I have not tested them yet even if I have to junk a few it is still worth it. This is one of those times you will kick yourself 10 years from now if you don't buy them now."
5.0 5
"I oredered 5 of these and all were new in the wrap. they fid and work better than my cetme mag in my cetme!"
4.0 5
"I have ordered these mags off CTD a number of times, and I average a 50/50 percent chance of either getting a relatively new mag, or one that is covered in rust and heavily used. Either way, for the price those odds are pretty good. I like these mags over the alluminum ones because they feel much more sturdy, even if they weigh more."
4.0 5
"I bought 5 of them, all from the early 1960's. Four of them were used, one appeared unused. The used ones had some rust on 'em. A session with some WD-40 and a stiff toothbrush, and they were good as new.For the price, you just can't beat it. Fit in CETME's just fine."
5.0 5
"I read the reviews and was pleased in what I saw. I decided to buy a Handfull. Received order on-time, as usual. I got 3 brand new. Like they say about a Vietnamese AK, \"never been fired and only dropped once.\" Two others had a little use, serviceable and functioned. A shade better in appearance than the many I was issued in the Corps. I would recommend for sure!"
5.0 5
"I decided to buy 4 of these because of the cheap price. 2 of these looked used but in good shape. The other 2 were unissued and obviously looked brand new. I wish I would have bought more. These are solid mags, and for under $3 you can't go wrong."
4.0 5
"I bought 20 of these. When I got them, 7 were still in the factory wrapping, 2 looked almost unissued, 6 had moderate wear and slight rust, and last 5 were rather severely rusted. Two to three had internal rust that made them feel gritty when the followers were depressed. I will probably take those apart for spare parts. All that said, I have a dozen that look BRAND NEW with minimal effort. I probably have 5 more that I will clean up and paint with some Rustoleum. Then function test all of them afterwards. I have enough magazines to last me as long as I have the rifle now. The local Gun & Pawn (the only local place I've found G3 mags, and aluminum ones at that) want a lot more money for them. A great buy and stock up on them while you can!!"
2.0 5
"I bought a bunch of these, and I know you can't expect a lot for that cheap of a price. But all mine were rust buckets!!!!! WAY TOO RUSTY, not worth the price."
2.0 5
"Total rust buckets... Hope I have better luck next time"
4.0 5
"These mags are great for the price. I ordered 4 and got 2 lightly used, 1 with light rust (nothing major), and 1 completely rusted out (looks like it was recovered from the Titanic). I think CTD shouldn't really sell these Titanic mags, they'd be better off selling them for scrap metal. At any rate, you can't beat this deal.I think I'll use the two rusted ones to make a 30 round magazine, they are steel after all and if I screw up I'm only out 4 bucks."
5.0 5
"I ordered 15 of these G3 mags thinking I'd be able to make half of them work. To my surprize all worked, 7 were new unissued, only 5 had any rust at all. A stiff nylon brush and some bicycle chain cleaner removed the surface rust with ease. Can't complain about them at this price. CTD does it again!"
4.0 5
"After reading the reviews I took a shot and ordered 10. All came in plastic bags(not original bags, but nice). None were rusted or dented. Not new but maybe an 8 out of 10. Definitely, a great deal for the price. I'll be ordering more."
4.0 5
"I bought a few of the steel ones posted as \"used\" and all were brand new with light rust. I fixed that with some gun oil and spray epoxy. A good deal!"
5.0 5
"I ordered 15 of these mags. After a few days, the package arrived. 4 of them in paper wrap, 5 unused and the rest in normal wear and tear with one dented but in usable condition. All came in plastic bags and had some degree of storage rust. I disassembled them all for inspection and cleaning before I put most of them away, because I really need only 1 at the range (I am a warm barrel shooter). After cleaning them with WD40, and tooth brush, most of them look brand-new again. This is a very good deal compared to my last PSL magazine purchase. The PSL mags are poorly made, new but rusted and expensive."
3.0 5
"I got six of these magazines. There is a pretty good amount of rust on all of them. Not surface rust, some pretty bad areas. Maybe it was first come, first serve (They got the good ones) I will end up taking the rust off and Duracoat them. They seem to work fine and are top of line stuff. A few dents and received an amount of rust spots on these six. Still worth the price! Get them and clean them up."
3.0 5
"I ordered 2 of these and a bunch of aluminum ones as well. They fit my Century Arms .308 well with no wiggle and no feed problems. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is that they were somewhat rusty when they arrived and a little T.L.C. didn't get it all off. If you want to add a bit more weight get these."
5.0 5
"Ordered six of these just to check them out. For the money these simply can not be beat. Got one brand new, 3 excellent and 2 rusty. A quick sandblast and a dip in the parkerizing tank and they will be like new. These are far superior to the aluminum mags. Will be ordering more."
5.0 5
"Ordered 5 and all were packaged....some minor surface rust from moisture due to being steel....but came right off...lowest price on the net.....was at a gun show and they were selling these for $15 a pop used.....as usual not disappointed at all...."
4.0 5
"I WAS PLEASENTY SURPRISED! After reading some reviews I wasn\uFFFDt sure what I was going to get, but as always I am happy with what I got. Thank you CTD!"
5.0 5
"Took a chance and ordered a dozen for my CETME rifle, not knowing what to expect. Once again CTD exceeded what they described the mags as. I got 10 brand new in packaging, other two had very slight wear. Slight being very slight wear on the finish in 3 spots. Thanks again CTD"
2.0 5
"Most of the mags have rust. Some worst than others. A few come new in wrap which is why I didn't give it one bullet. I've ordered a bunch on more than one occasion. Expect at least half to have rust, possibly more."
2.0 5
"Well, I read the reviews and figured that $1.97 wasn't a bad price and that if I ordered in bulk, I'd would get quite a few good ones at least. So I ordered 20 magazines which arrived today. 1 clip was useable. 18 totally rusted, and 1 was had the bottom busted with the spring sticking out. I basically paid 50 bucks for a used magazine. Its a roll of the dice, I wish you all better luck than me."
5.0 5
"Ordered six. Three had light wear, two were almost new, one was brand new, unissued, still in original packaging. Not a speck of rust on any of them. Took each one apart for cleaning and light lubrication, and then to the range. Not a single failure to feed from my PTR-91. I'm happy I hit the jackpot, but sorry that I can't justify ordering more, because I already have 20 aluminum mags."
4.0 5
"Bought 10, 6 needed a little elbow grease with the wire brush and some krylon ultra flat. ALL were functional and if you dont enjoy little projects like this then I seriously question your ability/need to operate a battle rifle like the CETME/G3"
4.0 5
"I purchased 12 steel and 6 aluminum magazines for my CETME. They all came in fairly decent shape with a low CTD price tag. That's hard to beat."
3.0 5
"For the price, I figured \"what the heck\" and bought a bunch. Half were rusted pretty bad and half were a little worn, but they were clean and functional. You get what you pay for."
5.0 5
"I bought 5 of them. Three were new and two had light rust. All were in great working order."
5.0 5
"I ordered four just to see what I would get. One was new in wrapper, two just needed wiping off, and the last just needed a scour with CLP. An awesome deal for steel mags. They shipped fast, too."
5.0 5
"This is my second order for my Century CETME. First order was 15 steel and 30 aluminum. 1 steel mag had been dropped but some tapping with a body hammer had it going in minutes and 4 were quite rusty but another couple minutes with a wire brush and some DuraCoat they were good as new, all the aluminum mags were perfect after a basic cleaning. This last order was for 30 steel, 10 were new in oiled gauze or crepe paper, 10 were IMO new but unwrapped as there were no scars or signs of ever seeing a magazine well, 5 were used in very good condition and 5 were rusted enough to require the wire brush and DuraCoat. Considering the dealers at the guns shows are charging $19 for used G3 mags I'd rather save money and put a little time in cleaning them up which considering I trust no manufacturers magazines is nothing strange, I strip down and clean every magazine I get regardless of whether its used mil-surp or brand new."
4.0 5
"I purchased these for a PTR91 I plan on purchasing in the future. Mags are marked H&K G3 mid 60's and 70's manufacture. A little paint or Duracoat and they have worked out great and for a cheap price. No dings or dents but do require a little cosmetic work to restore them to new condition, but for the price who is complaining."
3.0 5
"Just ordered 15 steel mags. All but one has rust, minor but two mags had major rust. 3 were wrapped new in plastic bags with rust paper around them and still rusted. Oh well. For this price, I am happy with my steel mags. The aluminums, not so much."
4.0 5
"Get your file ready again! If these things would of fit right out of the plastic bag(that they all came in) it would of been alot cooler. No dents, or busted springs. Also break out the CLP cause these were RUSTY. But with that price you can't go wrong.Alittle TLC and you CETME folks will love'em.....Ps just to clearify, you'll need to file down those 3 \"teeth\" of make it click in the mag well."

"Some had slight surface rust, but at this price, I can refinish and STILL beat current prices at other places. Great condition and all were in sealed bags. Thanks Cheaper Than Dirt."
5.0 5
"I ordered 31 of these mags and had a great surprise. Only 4 were in rough (rust) but functional shape. Twelve were new or damn near new. The rest were in cood functional shape. A good buy. These were my first items ordered from CTD, but not my last. Also, the AR mags and ammo functoined without a flaw. Thanks and keep up the good work."
5.0 5
"First time buyer. Well pleased. Purchased 20 steel and 10 alum. 2 were new in packing and the rest are all very usable. Jesus saves my soul and Cheaper Than Dirt saves me money!"
5.0 5
"New customer here, very happy with purchase. Bought 4 steel mags, all in good shape,no dings or dents, cleaned up nice with a little WD40.Mags even have production dates stamped on them, been around longer than I have!Fit my .308 perfectly. Will buy from cheaperthandirt in the future."
1.0 5
"Look, I know its surplus and I dont expect like new but I didn't expect to order 15 and get 9 that may work after hours of soaking and a wirebrush 2 had the lips rusted off and others were so far gone there is nothing to salvage not even a spring clearly not as advertised and that is a shame CTD is normally very fair to deal with."
5.0 5
"I ordered 8 of these shippping was quick 6 were like new and two were lightly rusted on the outside with minor rust on the spring. These will clean up easy may not even paint them. All will be cleaned and oiled. For the money, a military steel mag that is almost 50 yrs old these are well worth it. I will be buying more there are far better than the alumininum ones. Yes, a little heavier, but more durable. Thanks, CTD."
2.0 5
"Ordered 12, 8 were rusted so badly that I will throw out, 2 were fair and 2 were good."
5.0 5
"When I first saw these magazines I was debating which 308 MBR to buy. The price is of the mags is a main reason for my purchase of a CETME. I bought 15; 1 was brand new, 8 were in very good condition, 4 have minor rust, and 2 need help. All the springs are very strong and they feed well, no issues so far. Thanks again CTD."
5.0 5
"The price is low, so buy. If some don't work, then so what? I got a few of them for 1/8 the price of a new one. It's a win win."
4.0 5
"I know these mags are a real \"crap shoot\" with some folks being happy with what they got and others ending up with junk mags. I included three of these on my last CTD order and ended up with one in spectacular condition that didn't even have any wear to the finish on the high spots and looked brand new/un-issued, one had some wear on it, but was is in very good condition, and the third had considerable wear, but wasn't beat up too badly and was still very functional with only modest rust; it'll clean up just fine. I made out pretty well, it seems!"
5.0 5
"Ordered a couple dozen over the course of two orders. Only a couple were in excellent condition, but probably 70% were in good condition with minor dents/scratches. The rest had minor rust & pitting along with some scratches but are still functional. Given the incredible price, I am happy with my purchase. Like others have posted, even if half of the ones you purchased are garbage, you are still way ahead of the game."
5.0 5
"All the steel magazines I ordered were in great shape, better than the mags I've gotten from the armory at work. Now if only the CETME could hold a decent group past 200 yds I'd be set."
5.0 5
"Shipping was awesome 3 days from order... I live 1500 miles from where they came from. I ordered 10. 1 was perfect and just needs lubed.the other 9 need cleaned and re-painted. ALL of the followers were perfect and springs were in good shape. Floor plates had minor rust(all surface) Well worth the money."
3.0 5
"I ordered 5 of these. They must have been shipped via U-Boat, lots of surface rust but will clean up nice. What can you expect for under 2 bucks. Break out the wire brush and you'll be just fine, thanks CTD I'll be ordering more, maybe some aluminum ones too."
1.0 5
"I don\uFFFDt recall ordering scrap metal but that\uFFFDs what was shipped to me. IF I wanted to make the magazine they shipped me usable I would have to take an angle grinder to it with a wire wheel and then re blue it. Even then it was so badly rusted that it would probably still look like crap and I haven\uFFFDt even looked at the inside or the spring. Glad I only ordered one."
4.0 5
"I ordered 50 steel and 50 aluminum. At least each were still new in the original oil wrap. Very little rust or heavy wear on any of them. I am more than pleased!"
5.0 5
"Ordered one just to check it out. Came scratched and rusty. Once it was cleaned up, it was in pretty good shape. A few coats of paint and it looks good as new. Cant beat the cost for a quality steel mag, and yes they are much more durable than the aluminum. Well worth the effort to fix up."
5.0 5
"Bought 10 steel mags expecting some to be on the rough side. All are usable right out of the box. Some look like new. Two are still factory sealed. You can't beat the price!"
5.0 5
"Ordered 5, 4 had some surface rust 1 was like new, all were barely used. Already converted one to a 5 rounder. Tip, if you want to paint them, use spray can truck bed liner."
5.0 5
"I bought 10 steel mags of those 2 where heavily rusted(though they still worked) 3 where new in the wrapper and the remaining 5 where in pretty good condition and at this price even if half of them where junk I think I would still be getting my moneys worth."
5.0 5
"I ordered 15; four were new in the wrapper, the rest had some degree of a light, dusty rust coating on the outer mag bodies. And of these only three had seen the inside of a weapon mag well. They clean up easily and are still as sturdy as a brick. Can't beat the price for steel mags, well worth the clean up time - Bravo CTD!"
4.0 5
"I ordered 18 steel mags. 15 had light rust in places, while 3 had a light brown patina which will clean up nicely. 6 of the mags were still in the original packing! Not bad for the price and being 50 years old. Ordered on Monday, and delivered to Washington State by Thursday morning. Well done, CTD!"
4.0 5
"I was so impressed by the first 18 magazines I then ordered another 18. Only 2 new in wrap, but all but one were good to go. The only malingering magazine had the floorplate come loose during shipping. Easy fix. Seven had a light dusting of rust that I cleared with Ospho. An excellent value from CTD, who have just made me a G3 Magazine Mogul!"
5.0 5
"The 1st order was as new. The 2nd was mostly light surface rust. This in no way was a problem as I took mags apart, stretched the springs and sloshed the inside and outside of mag bodies and the bottoms with a product which turns rust to primer. After drying I sprayed with flat black enamel ,baked at 300 degrees for 30 minutes (I use Bar B Q paint) and let cool. After cooling all parts which touched I used a gun grease and the mads are better than knew. I also wipe springs with grease to make sure they will slide and as a rust preventative. The price is great but shipping leaves more to desire."
4.0 5
"ordered 20, all had slight surface rust but cleaned up nicely plus they fit nice and tight in my ptr if CTD's shipping wasn't so high this would be a real steal."
3.0 5
"Fits well in Century Arms CETME Sporter. These clips are hit and miss, if you buy 8 you might get 3 or 4 that actually feed. But for the price that's ok. But anything century arms is notorious for feeding problems."
2.0 5
"I didn't expect much out of these mags for the price, but I was pretty disappointed when I got them. I got 6 of them and they were all rusted, I managed to save 3 or 4 of them with naval jelly but I would put in my alloy mags before these. Would not buy again."
3.0 5
"I didn't expect too much for the price. I bought 10 and they were all dirty and all had surface rust (grade III as stated in the ad). It's mostly superficial and should clean up to \"good\" condition. None of the steel mags was dented. They all load up and function well. I'd buy again."
1.0 5
"I read several of the reviews, a little surface rust you can deal with. I ordered 25, only 2 didn't need major work. Total rust, lots of dirt, sand etc. and the billing notice showed them as II's not III's, I did have to laugh. I definitely would not go through that much work again. No I would not recommend. I bought a III I think I got a IIIIIIl VI."
5.0 5
"I bought 10 of these mags for my CETME and nine were covered with a light-to-medium rust when they arrived. None of them fit well in the magazine well and only a couple would lock in place and were so tight you couldn't work the release (beating on the release with the handle of a screw driver worked, though). This is, as I understand, not uncommon with the CETME, so I wasn't surprised.Anyway, I stripped them all down, hit the rust with steel wool, sandpaper or emery cloth as needed (get the springs too!) and then sprayed on a rust killer from the local auto paint store inside and out. After that I noted that some were bowed out - easily fixed with a pair of channel locks. I filed down the ones that were tight in the mag well and applied the file to adjust the fit with the mag release too. Most of this work was quickly done while listening to a ball game in my shop.I ended up with with 10 very serviceable magazines for a bargain price (and some elbow grease). Note that the rust killer (also known as rust converter) isn't cheap, but worth it, I think. A fellow could just clean them up, make them fit and apply some gun oil, Breakfree CLP, etc. But I didn't want to deal with the rust ever again so sprung for a can of $20 rust killer - still cheap magazines in my book!"
1.0 5
"Bought 10 and only two without rust and one alluminum. Seven heavily rusted inside and out, useless unless you want to do a total restoration. Will not buy again. On a good note, everything else I have purchased from Cheaper Than Dirt has been first rate!"
5.0 5
"The magazines that I received were very rusty, but only surface rust and no pitting or dents! I used a small sandblaster with #5 blast sand, which is super fine grit, and the magazines cleaned up beautifully!!! I cleaned and oiled them and they look like new!!! Awesome for the price !!!! That's a steal!!!"
5.0 5
"I'll admit to a lot of misgivings after reading every review on these steel HK mags. I ordered 6 and figured at this price 3 useable ones would still be a good deal. I got my box and was disappointed with my first impression. They were covered with a dry brown rust. I mixed up a bucket of boiling water and Dawn Dishwashing Liquid and soaked them for about an hour. I took a Stainless Steel Pot Scrubber and went to town. The rust fell prey to the scrubby and they began to look halfway decent!. I dried them and was pleased that they had early 60's HK and Rhinemetal date codes . I sprayed them down with Pam cooking spray and dried the excess oil off. They turned out to be Ugly Ducklings.. No pitting and the natural blued black appearance was there and every one looks and functions fine. I will be ordering more at this price!! I love a happy ending"

"Bought 3. At first I was disappointed, they came covered in some light grease. I soaked them in hot water and purple power. Then gave them a good scrubbing. Cleaned up nice and well worth the money."
2.0 5
"I received four of these and I received them in record time not problem with the shipping. I did however get four of the worst looking magizines I'd ever seen. Rusted on all four sides on all four units. Not doing that again....Horse."
5.0 5
"Got 6 of these, along with 5 of the aluminum ones. Steel mags were all in great shape and look brand new. For the price, it's a steal."
2.0 5
"These mags should be graded at a IV at least. Lots of wear and rust. I'm sure they will clean up and function fine, but they are NOT pretty."
5.0 5
"Overall, these are great mags. I ordered 10 of the steel and 5 of the aluminum mags, and only one of the aluminum mags was broken. Yeah, sure there was some surface rust, but for mags made in 1961, it was not bad at all. A select few of them looked brand new. However, if you want them rust free, about 1-2 hours, 0000 steel wool, degreaser, spray primer, and spray paint will fix them right up, looking practically brand new again!"
4.0 5
"You can read posts on both ends of the spectrum on these! I had some that looked like they were salvaged from a sunken ship in Truk Lagoon. This was just surface rust, BUT they cleaned up nicely. I disassembled them, plastic beaded the bad ones, cold blued the worn spots (on the really bad ones), reassembled them, and gave them a coat of CLP. They function flawlessly, look great, and are a very good buy."

"Bought 10, five were NOS in wrapper, three showed some bright spots from use, and two had some diffuse surface rust. Fully functional mags! The worst will clean up nicely and work for my lifetime, and I couldn't make them at this quality for this price."

"I have had very good results buying from Cheaper Than Dirt, but not this time!I bought 20 steel and 10 aluminum. The best of the steel mags was maybe a poor 5. The worst, I wouldn't call them even a 5. There's no way I would put any one of these in my PTR-91. Clean them? No. Not worth it. I threw all 20 in the garbage. The aluminum ones were a little better, but they were still filthy and scratched up, and showed signs of much use---but they were like they had ridden in the bed of a pickup truck for 5 years or more. I had ordered 10 of the aluminum mags from a different company. They were a buck more but were like new. Hardly any showed any sign of use. Each was in its own separate, clear plastic bag. Obviously, some people got lucky and got some good ones from CTD, but CTD, it should have been made clear that some of these were going to be disgusting!"

"After receiving these today, I was happy with my purchase. Several were brand new. A few had some rust but they will clean up nicely. I would buy again."

"Ordered these before and am pleased again. Yes, there was some flash, rust on them but nothing a quick cleaning won't fix. The only reason for four bullets is they need a little clean up, as expected, and I was shorted one mag on my order. The customer service rep made an error on the report and I was credited the cost rather than receiving another mag in the mail."

"First order from CTD. I ordered 10 steel and 10 aluminum magazines. First, they were all thrown loosely in a box. The steel magazines had a lot of rust on them. I would not call the amount of rust on them as grade 2, as CTD described them. The aluminum mags were in extremely good shape until they were beat up by the steel magazines all tossed loosely into the same box. For the shipping and handling I paid, I expected better packaging. I know they were cheap, but that doesn't mean you should incorrectly describe them."

"Of the five I ordered, two where GTG, the other three will need some work, but they were cheap, so I didn't expect too much."

"I bought 10 used G3 mags and I got what I expected - used magazines. I took them apart, bead blasted them, and spray painted them with flat black paint. They look great. I wish I bought 20!"

"For this price, WTF do you want?! Wipe them down and use them! Whiners!!"

"I ordered four of these for my CETME .308 Sporter. As the title says, it will fit the HK clone rifles but not without a heck of a slam to seat the magazine into place. If you take a file to the three lips on each side of the mag and file them down a bit, the mag then will fit better than a factory CETME mag. Shipping was decent but it sure took them long enough to process my order. Other than that, they were in Grade II condition and well worth the $."

"Just received my second order of 10 G3 magazines. Two were brand new, three were in good to very good condition, the others need a little work. The price went up a little from the last order, but it's still a deal for steel mags."

"Good Quality, vary in quality from great to very good."

"Good quality as described. I purchased 30 alloy mags and five steel mags. Overall, I was impressed with both. However, the steel ones were slightly better. Out of five, only one had rust, but brake cleaner and elbow grease fixed it right up. I then placed an order of five more steel mags. Better get them while you can. Also, price went up from my last order, so I figure jump now. I don't fault CTD for raising prices, all I ask is that my next order of five all be good quality. The alloy mags, I probably hit a 50/50 percentage of good quality vs. fair quality. Out of the 30 alloys, two were complete junk, dented, rusted bottom plates; about the only thing I could salvage was the spring and the follower. For the price, I cannot complain. Would I pay the price as they stand today? Probably not, unless I was guaranteed Class II quality. I remember the good old days when these went for a couple of bucks. A sign of the times! Thanks, CTD!"

"I bought 20 of these quite awhile back from CTD. All were in plastic bags and only one showed any use at all. Got mine quite a bit cheaper than these are listed at, but even at this price they're still a good deal. One suggestion, put new springs in them. You can afford it and you'll wind up with like new mags. BTW, the collapsible stock isn't a bad investment either."

"Have ordered from CTD for 30 years, have always been satisfied. There needs to be a Grade 4,rusted junk. Ordered 5,1 actually looks like a grade 2,the others are coveres with rust. Will try to sand and repaint, but 2 might make but i'm pretty sure 2 of them are trash. Very dissatisfied."

"Out of 25 ordered...13 \"HK\" ranging from '59-62: 11 \"Rheinmetall\" from '62-63: 1 unmarked. While about half had surface rust, none are anywhere close to \"trash\". No pitting or significant dings that will hinder perfomance. Overall I am completely satisfied and will order more..."

"I received my mags within a few days. Was surprised to find that one was only slightly used and the other three were brand new still in the factory wrapping. They fit my Cetme perfect! Thank you CTD! This was my first time buying from them, I will buy again."

"this is the second batch of 20 magazines that i have ordered . this batch is even better than the first one was.. 5 were brand new in the wrappers..many others looked almost unfired, i will probably be buying more later"

"All three of the magazines I ordered were completely covered in rust, and one was so badly dented it would not even fit in my rifle. After reading all of the positive reviews I was expecting a much higher quality. The functional magazines were grade 3, and one is completely unusable. You are rolling the dice with this purchase."

"Mine showed up looking brand new. May not always be the case, but at this price it's worth the gamble, IMO."

"Bought 3 steel HK condition II mags and all three of them are more like condition III. Two were covered in rust while the last looks like it was painted with watercolors. Even though they're cheap, don't buy them. Get some that are actually in good condition."

"Seems to be hit or miss on these. I bought 2. Both came carefully wrapped in heavy German preservative paper. One had a little rust around the feed lip that will be easily cleaned with steel wool. Not sure if these are new or used - they have a naturally coarse finish, kind of like how even new Colt USGI AR mags come scuffed - but they are in excellent shape and much heavier and tougher than the aluminum ones. Plan to roll the dice and buy a few more."

"Received 4 of these magazines 4/24/14. All four were in great physical shape with only 2 with minor surface rust. Expected for surplus from 1961 and 1962. Almost new condition."

"Bought 10 steel and 15 aluminum. Steel mags, minus 4, were in great condition. The other four had ALOT of rust, but some elbow grease and oil cleaned them up nice. Aluminum mags were awesome with most still in original packaging. Majority of mags had HK markings. Going to order more at these prices!!!!"

"I just ordered 10 of these mags expecting them to be typical used surplus condition, rust and dings, but to my surprise all but 1 mag I received were unissued and still in the wraps. Cant beat that deal for sturdy steel mags. I'll be ordering more."

"Need a shoe horn to get them in my PTR91. Way too tight. If they weren't so cheap I'd send them back. Buy the cheaper aluminum ones instead. They fit fine."

"I purchased one aluminum magazine because I wanted to be cautious after reading some of the reviews about the steel mags. This mag is definitely used but deserves a 5 out of 5 bullets because the CTD product description was truthful. As mentioned, the magazine is used, but functions flawlessly. I broke down the mag for cleaning and didn't have to do anything. I only wiped the dust off the mag. The magazine cycled like new through a PTR-91. The magazine had zero rust and minimal wear. I might buy more, but the used aluminum magazines I purchased were simply fantastic. I suggest buying a few aluminum magazines because they looked factory fresh and buy 1 steel mag to see if you like it. I also purchased a new PTR-91 aluminum mag and the used aluminum mags look just as good and functions like new too. Maybe I was lucky, but I am buying more."

"Ordered 10, 2 were new still packed in plastic. 2 had light rust wiped off with oil no problem the rest were lightly used and in great shape. These mags are all made in the 60's fit my Century CETME tight I'm satisfied 5 stars !"

"I ordered five of these. I received them quickly. One was like new and the rest were very good to excellent. All were dirty, but after wiping with an oily rag they were good to go. Better than I expected for mil surp. These are much heavier than the aluminum mags. Something to consider if you are going to carry a few."

"Ordered 30 magazines, arrived more quickly than expected. 25 appeared new, unissued. The 5 magazines that appeared lightly used, were in good condition, with slight scuffing, no dents. Disassembled and cleaned all, lightly oiled and all fit my PTR-91."

"Bought 10 of these last time they were in stock. Half were HK stamped and all fully functional. Only 4 had small dents. The rest ranged from good to excellent condition. Date marked from the 1960's. Just ordered another 25."
