"I got these and they jam more than my factory mags. Factory mags never jam and these cheap ones here seem to every now and then. I would use the for pratice only."

"Like a sucker, I bought 6 of these things. 1. To load one, you need a hydrolic press.2. You can't insert the mag loaded with 7 rounds into a pistol with it's slide closed.Fix.1. salvage the spring2. replace the follower with a standard one.3. Cut off about 1/4\" of that part of the follower that extends down into the magazine. (The long part that travels down the inside rear of the magazine.Cure.Buy another brand."

"I bought 3 and they operated fine. Only problem was a jam and it bent the top corner but I fixed it with needle nose pliers. Can't beat it for the price. I would recommend them to my friends"

"Others discouraged me from this purchase, preferring the $20 and $30 prices. With all due respect to my fellow shooters, I bought three of 'em anyway. Was wondering \"Are these worthy of the new Kimber?\" Indeed. 7 round pop mags are a bit less of an engineering feat and sure enough they worked flawlessly. In fact, I could not tell the diff with the Kimber factory mag, except for the name on the bottom plate. ONE CAUTION: (No they do not detonate and blow up) these are the mags with a METAL plate on the bottom. I do not recommend those with the plastic bottoms---they break tooooo easy."

"Received 3 mags as per order. None of them would work properly but with a little work with a file and needle nose pliers they were made functional. Would not use these mags on a day to day basis.Overall rating is an \"f\",will not reorder.Recommend users stick with factory mags."

"I bought 2. Both feed well but one Fails to load on the last round. Not for protecting the house but work well enough at the range."
– Master Putter

"I was a bit skeptical when I bought one of these. When it arrived, I did need to bend up the protrusion that operates the slide stop, probably due to handling. Though, to be honest, I've had to do that on factory magazines, so that's no big deal. Fed and functioned just fine in my old 1911. All in all, it was a good purchase. Just a no-frills 7-shot 1911 mag. I'll throw in a couple more with my next order."

"These are okay magazines for the range. These are not for defensive applications at all. An occasional failure to feed is the worst I got, & only using one of the two mags I ordered. The other magazine was flawless. My main complaint is at this price I expected range mags, but these magazines DO NOT lock the slide after the last round is fired. Otherwise, buy away & have fun."

"Funny thing is that i have a SHYZLOAD of these that my grandpa used in his 1911 from WWII. He sanded the sides of them down to fit better, but really it just made more friction and caused ejection to be a hassle. But hey, whatever, they work for range use. Don't trust in competition. If you want top quality, get a Mec-Gar"

"I own a Stainless Springfield 1911A1 Loaded. I bought 4 of these and 2 Stainless Mccormick these worked flawlessly FMJ and JHP The Mccormick Only fed the FMJ The JHP stove pipe on the last round when cycling the load. These fit snug and when the last case is ejected the slide is locked back every time. I am going to buy more."

"Mil-Spec? Certainly not, but for the price I had to take a chance. Hit the range with FMJ, after 50 it worked just fine. They feel flimsy and I wouldn't be surprised if it falls apart, but if your going to the range to practice they're a good buy."

"I purchased 2 of these mags to check out and see if they would make good replacements for my old mags. I was disappointed in them. One would not feed correctly causing the round to be half in the barrel, and half in the mag. The other would allow the slide to move forward instead of locking back after the last round was fired."

"I've read the reviews on this item and every one is saying they would only use these magazines for target shooting. I bought 5 of them for my Kimber Custom II 1911 and they work just as well as the 3 factory Kimber magazines I own do. I would recomend these magazines for all use: concealed carry or target practice. If you buy these for a Kimber you will not be disappointed in the performance of this magazine. Great product! I will be purchasing more with my next order."

"I bought two because they are cheap and I had no failures after 200 rds each. I'm happy. I will be buying more before the price goes up. The gun is a Colt Series 70 and you can't tell the difference between the Colt mag and these expect for the Colt horse symbol."

"I was worried they would be some cheap flimsy crappy mags since they were this cheapso I only ordered 4 to try them out. I was pleasently surprised when I reseived them and they are made really well and they function perfect just like all my more expensive magazines. Man why have I been spending 20-30 bucks for 1911 magazines when these work just as good? I will be ordering a lot more real soon you can count on it. Thank you to the manufacture for making a solid product that does what it should for a great price and keeping it Made in America! P.S., I'm using these in a Taurus PT1911"

"I ordered four non-factory 1911-magazines and i went to the range and shot 7-rounds 3-times in each magazine they never jammed up they fed threw like as if they were from the factory i have a Springfield Armory 1911-A1, I would recommend if you have a 1911 and you can't afford to buy magazines from the factory for your 1911 these are a great buy and priced affordable for the consumer. Thank You, Cheaper Than Dirt."

"Bought 4 of these for my Taurus PT-1911. They all fit and function just fine. Shot 100 rounds using just these and there where zero problems. When sliding them into the gun I needed to slap the bottom of the mag when using 7 rounds in them. As an ex-soldier that was habit anyway. They are not top of the line, but they are well worth the price and then some. For cheap range mags they work great."

"Bought one of these mags since the price was right and I had an ammo order coming anyway. Got it and took it to the range and put 50 rounds through with no major problems in my RIA. I had one issue with the last round on a full mag of Russian ammo where the slide did not go into full battery. Only happened once and it could have been the ammo. I would not hesitate to buy more at this price."

"This is a follow up review. My first review I gave these 4 out of 5. This time it is 5 out of 5. Fired 100 rounds through these when I first received them with zero problems in a Taurus PT1911. I kept all 4 mags loaded with 7 rounds for 2 months. At the end of the 2 months I fired 100 more rounds from them. Of the 4 mags none had weakened springs and no bulging at all.Just received 6 more of these mags and fired 200 rounds with the new ones. Once again I had zero problems with them. I highly recommend these mags."

"Just received 6 of these Mags. They fit my SA Champion SS 1911 like a charm. They are a very tight fit (As expected New), I believe over time this will be adjusted with use. Right now it takes effort to load into the pistol, and also to remove them. All reasonable. At this price, I could not pass on the chance to test them."

"Bought two of these to take advantage of the low price, and the good reviews put almost all doubts to rest. Although the springs felt a little stiff when loading for the first time, a little bit of lube solved the problem. All fed perfectly, meeting the expectations generated by the positive reviews. But, in my SA \"loaded\" 1911 the slide would not lock back after the last round was fired, unlike the magazines that came with the gun. A small flaw that I can live with. Overall, excellent feeding performance and unbeatable price. Need some 1911 mags? Grab these while you can."

"Bought one to try out in a Cobra Patriot .45 which takes \"standard\" 1911 mags. Sticks out of grip a little but fits okay otherwise. Experienced intermittent failures to feed with four different kinds ammunition, switched back to stock mag and had no problem with same four ammo brands. After modifying the top front feed lips with a rotary tool to match the stock mag it seems to feed the various ammo much better. A little silicone spray lube helps too. Would have given it 4 bullets if it hadn't been for having to modify it to make it function properly. Still, a great buy for basic range use. Not sure I would trust it for PP though."

"I just bought 4 mags. and going to buy twenty more as soon as they are back in stock. Ran 350 rounds through each mag over four days. no faults that I can find, total satisfaction on my part! The mags that I have just tested are the exact same mag as the mags I paid $22 for just last month. Still all in all I am 100% satisfied!"

"Easily the best money I have ever spent on a gun accessory. These mags fit perfectly into my Taurus PT1911. Get some cheap butt plate extensions and you have a perfect magazine for a fifth of the price of the big name brands. If you have a 1911, you have no reason not to buy this product."

"Ok mags for the price. I did do some small mods on it just like some of the other reviewers mentioned (opening up the feed lips a little bit). Before the mod I loaded the mag up and you could feel the feed lips dragging on the case. After a little bit of filing and bending it works great. I\uFFFDm giving this mag (4) stars because of the extra work, but I knew that going into it so that\uFFFDs no big deal. If you want a cheap range mag and don\uFFFDt mind adjusting the fit to your firearm, than this might be the right one for you."

"Great mag for the money. Firm spring, tough mag body and nice follower. I did buff the top of the follower and feed lips to smooth them because the lips were sharp. This seemed to smooth feeding of ammo. Just used fine sand paper. Great buy for the price."

"I bought 2 of these mags to try out in my Colt 1911 series 70 model made in the 80s I believe. Both mags shot all 7 rounds but they did not hold the slide back and the mag release didnt drop the mags like it should. I guess my Colt is picky. Gonna spend the $ on factory mags."

"Used it on my Rock Island 1911A1 and it performed ok. I had couple of jams in the beginning. It does not keep gun open after you shot your last round. You'll need to bend follower a little so it will engage safety. Otherwise for the price of it I don't complain. I wish I would have original colt for it :)"

"I bought 3 of these magazines for my Springfield Mil Spec 1911. Why? Because they are cheap.I was very pleasantly impressed by their performance. After several trips to the range and several hundred rounds, not a single loading issue. They aren't as well made as my OEM mags. The steel is lighter gauge, the spring has a different rate, and they are less \"smooth\". But....they work....every time. Not perfect, but an EXCELLENT value. I will probably buy more!"

"I give this 2 bullets because the magazines were horrific as received - expect extremely sharp, unfinished edges; the springs sound like nails raking down a chalkboard. However, there is some really good news. With a little lube and exercise for the springs, they quiet down a bit. The bigger issue is the very crude shaping of the magazine feed lips. As compared to a factory Para or CMC magazine, the feed lips are closer together. The exit surface of the magazines are very rough and will cause failures. A rotary tool and 5-10 mins per magazine and they work GREAT. Zero failures after slight modifications. These are good DIY project mags - but I assume most people here want out of the box working products, hence 2 stars. I bought a good many of these and will purchase them again. Great for range use, not for personal / home defense."

"I purchased these with hesitation. I really thought buying a clip that was $5 was going to turn out bad. However that was changed when I got the package. By the way, expected shipping was 8-10 days, I received the package in 4!! Anyway, I was going threw hell and back to find clips for my llama single stack. And, my goodness they fit perfect, I have already put 29 rounds threw my llama with these clips and no problems at all!! For the others who have bad reviews. Don't read.. Its $5 so, if their is a problem its only $5. Buy with confidence!! I am buying 4 more as we speak.. Man, I love CTD!!!"

"Like most, I was hesitant to buy these. The price makes it seem too good to be true. I decided that for the money I would give them a shot. Very glad I did. When they first arrived, I loaded each magazine with round nose target ammo and did a function test in the gun. Every one not only fed properly, but also held the slide back on the last round.I then tried square nose, JHP, Federal personal protection. Every round in every magazine fed without a problem.Absolutely the best buy on 1911 magazines I have ever found."

"I bought these because they were priced right and because of the good reviews. The mags are finished nicely and the 10 I bought are all very good quality with no sharp edges. They aren't as nice as Colt's originals or Wilson mags, but they are very good and are EXCELLENT for the price. I shot three of them and I had no failures. I hope the other 7 are as good. Buy these before the price goes up. These are 13.00 from triple k, 10.00 from the gunsource."

"I recently ordered one of these magazines for range use. I figured for $5 it was worth a shot. Surprisingly, these are good mags. No issues with the slide not locking back after the last round like some others have reported. These might not be worthy of an alien invasion, zombie apocalypse or whatever else people are stocking up for these days, but for range use this is the best value I have found."
– Kerwin

"I bought this mag for my Ruger SR1911 and it works great. Every round would feed right. It keeps the slide back when last round is fired. For the price I bought 6 of them and I might buy more soon. I do suggest this magazine for people looking for range mag. However really don't suggest using this for concealed carry magazine. I would suggest using the Factory mags or better. With all said I love these mag's for the use of planking and training."

"I was a bit hesitant ordering these mags for my Taurus 1911..... Firm believer in that \"you get what you pay for\"! I am AMAZED at the quality and construction of these mags. They slid in and eject without hesitation, hold a full 8 rnds, springs are a little squeaky but a bit of Frog lube will cure that. CAN'T beat the price for what you\uFFFDre getting. These will save me some time reloading time at the range ($26.00/Hr). Fully intend on ordering additional five!!! C.T.D. communication and fast shipping was OUTSTANDING! BUY NOW\uFFFD. I\uFFFDm sure they won\uFFFDt be around forever!"

"You can't beat this magazine for the price. The upside is that I had no jams, bullets fed very well, and they fit in my 1911-A1 nice and snug. The downside (which I consider insignificant) is the slide doesn't stay open after the last round is fired, you have to pull the magazine out rather than it ejecting, and the spring is squeaky. This is a great range magazine, but wouldn't prefer it for self defense if more than one magazine is needed. A great magazine for the money though."

"Wasn't sure about buying these mags. The local store was wanting $40 each mag, so I looked around. They feel cheap, but I have had no issues and have used them for a bit. Not sure how long the can stay stacked. I'm going to torture test one and level it stacked for a week and will give a new review."

"I bought these mags a fews weeks ago. I had to sand the edges of the top portion of the mags. The edges were sharp. To help the rounds feed better, I used my Dremel tool to polish the follower. This seems to help a lot. I do recommend these mags. I will be buying more to help keep reloading time down at the range."

"I bought 5 of these magazines for the range, based on the ratings, reviews, and recommendations from other shooters. I wasn't sure what I was going to get, but was happy with the results. I had no feeding problems. The only issue I had with 1 of the mags was a failure to drop freely. It's hard to pass up a deal like this."
– colsan3333

"I purchased 6 of these mags and tested each one to see if they held the slide back right out of the box. Each one worked great and held the slide back. I shot about 200 rounds and only had 1 jam. The jam was due to a bad feed from racking slide. I oiled the springs because they were noisy, and left the mags fully loaded for a week, which helped soften them up. Like other reviewers say, the follower is sharp and might need to be sanded down to match factory mags, but since I did not have a problem, apart from the 1 jam, I'm not going to mess with them. I recommend these for the range, but stick with HIGH quality for self defense. The gun I used was a Llama 1911, which I always keep very well oiled and lubricated."

"I have left this mag loaded for over a month and it's still working perfectly. It actually works better than than it did right out of the box, since it's been worked in. For the price and dependability, it's perfect. I recommend buying a base plate for it though, if you have a flared mag well. I had to press it up with my finger."

"I was a big believer in name brand magazines I have Kimber pro tac mags,Wilson combat tac mags and chip McCormick pro mags all good mags. But these work flawless even lock back when the last round is fired, and yes, I would trust these mags for home defense"

"I bought 20 of these based on reviews. I loaded them up and let them sit for a while. 8 of the 20 magazines failed to feed correctly. All of them went into and out of the gun correctly. I will replace the springs and try again. Even with this problem, if the replacement of springs makes good mags, I will still have less in them than a comparable Chip McCormick or Wilson mag. So if you don't mind a little work, these are a good deal."

"This mag fit just like the only original I had for the Commander. I've seen the Colt mags in stores and at shows going for $20-$40. Didn't really want to spend that much for one mag. SO, a BIG thanks to CTD for the perfect fit mags and best price. Awesome!"

"Excellent fit. Proper function. I own a Remington R1 1911. it is a great combo. Much better than paying $25 to $30 for a factory mag that wouldn't perform much better. I would even go as far as to say I would use these for duty as well as range use. I'm that happy with the purchase. I think you will agree. I would have given them 5 bullets, except that they are slightly tight at first until they are broken in. I suppose that would be true for most products though."

"BLUF: Good for fun, bad for competition; self defense depends on whether 7 rounds is enough.PROs: Feeds bullets, cheapCONs: In my RIA Tactical, does not lock slide when empty (resulting in dry fire if you aren't counting), and does not drop out when mag is released (has to be pulled out).Purchased three (for the price of one Chip McCormick) for my RIA Tactical, cycled a stack of snap caps through them several dozen times each, then three to four stacks of ammo each at the range. The only misfeed was probably due to ammo (see my review of TulAmmo .45 ACP). Mag never drops out when released (has to be pulled), but then the one that comes with the RIA only does 1/2 the time. Mags never lock the slide when empty, but then nether does the one that comes with the RIA (Chip McCormick does; see my review)."

"I was a little hesitant with these mags, so I only bought three to try out. Only one out of the three held the slide open after being emptied, but all of them ejected with no problems! For a cheap mag, you can't go wrong. Don't expect anything fancy, just a decent way to enjoy shooting at the range!"

"I bought six mags for my Colt commander 1911. The price was to good to pass up. Mags and that is what good to pass up. But as always you get what you pay for. I needed practice and that's what I got. They fit and work in my 1911 but when the last round is fired out of the mag, the slide does not lock back. Colt mags lock the slide back, so does Kimber, Wilson, Sig, but not these. When I practice with my 1911 I let the mags fall to the floor, so if these mags get damaged I don't care. I WILL NOT use these mags in my 1911 while I carry my gun for personal protection. Over all I would give these mags a five out of ten"

"Needed to get some 1911 mags for a class I was recently in. Needed quantity and these surprised me. Never had a misfeed from any of them, great finish on the metal. Excellent quality product from \"Cheaper Than Dirt\", so don't let the name mislead you."
