The Combat LifeSaver Kit (CLS) is a non-medical soldier trained kit to provide advanced first aid and lifesaving procedures beyond the level of self-aid or buddy aid.

Combat lifesaver training is a bridge between the first aid (self-aid/buddy-aid) training given to all soldiers during basic training and the medical training given to MOS 68W, Health Care Specialist (combat medic).

The CLS is not intended to take the place of medical personnel, but to slow deterioration of a wounded soldier's condition until medical personnel arrive. Functioning as a CLS for the soldier is a secondary mission undertaken only when the tactical situation permits.

"I received this kit along with the rest of my order after 5 business days. I've spent months researching first aid kits on and off and was amazed when I found this. Even after comparing it to other kits available from other websites this is by far the best deal available. I received everything listed, if not more. The 2 bags of Hetastarch listed arrived as 1 bag of Hetastarch and 1 bag of Lactated Ringers, both of which expired in December of 2008. They are still clear, however, and because I would only use them as a last resort in a TEOTWAWKI situation, I have no gripes. The bag itself is not made of a very thick material and the threads are fraying. However, for the price, you could easily purchase a different bag from CTD and still save a lot of money over other kits. Just the CAT, ETDs, angiocath, chest seals, and gloves make this worth the money. Thanks CTD."

"Bought this on the fact that it included a CAT, chest seals, and an airway NASOPHARYNGEAL. The kit didn't have a single one of these items. Extremely disappointed that the description doesn't match what actually comes in the kit."

"I ordered this kit because of the supply list. The kit does not contain the items listed. It would be a good basic first aid bag but definitely not a combat lifesavers bag.I was a combat lifesaver and am a first responder and do not recommend this product"

"Great medical kit for the price. The bag alone is probably worth cost, included everything listed with room to spare for additional items. Will add a few more items, i.e. pocket rescusitator, halo chest seals, Israel bandages, wound seal, butterfly-steri-stripes or sutures-if I can find them, additional medications, salves, etc. Only draw back was the cheap plastic tweezers which I will replace for better ones."

"I purchased this pack along with an IFAK that CTD was selling, after buying this pack I was somewhat surprised at the amount of content's it came with. I only had a couple complaints. One being that the bandage stopper crud, is crud. Now im not a trained EMT or anything but imo I would have felt better if they had those "quikclot combat gauze Z fold" included in the pack. My only other complaint is the Latex tourniquet that it came with, would so much prefer the CAT that the military uses..."
